You can notice the mood Castoria is in by looking at the "i" in her name. It's normally a spiral, and it remains a spiral after you make a good choice. When you've upset her with a bad choice, her "i" turns into a skull.
What I've learned today: if you're not a dick about it and treat them with the same basic decency as you should any new person you meet, an isekai'd anime girl may not go full psycho and things could go pretty well. on the other hand denying their sentience and treating them like they're still an inconsequential game character is just asking for trouble.
But castoria *is* an npc, she was written by devs to love anyone who picked her rute, she was made to love, not to be a person like, plus it's a romance novel (I think) so girls on those mostly don't have personality, rather a type (tsundere, kuudere, dandere etc.). I feel bad for protag kun since he can't love her just cuz she said so

This is a little hilarious as I agree with Manly's interpretation of it that this is poking fun at yandere fans and those who dismiss the "vanilla" options in dating sims, but I do like it. Given how possessive some of the lines are even in the happy ending, I think the protagonist is probably doomed in the long run no matter what, but I could be reading too much into it.

as a character programmed to Love MC 200% = true, she basically is compelled and forced to absolutely cherish every minute, hell every second, no every milisecond, nonono every singular instant she spends with him, which means eventually she will always go yandere on him.
For real. Not only does her voice fit the character but her inflection is perfect. Whoever this actor is they can really convey emotion so convincingly. Damn, I hope they've gotten a lot of VO work after this project! They're really talented!

To be honest, I find even the 'good' ending chilling. Her asking protag to delete the game was more than just her not wanting them to fake-date more fictional girls from her game, she outright tells them 'i don't want you hanging out with other people'. That, alongside her insistence on being together forever and her claiming she wouldn't leave even if mc tried to force them out throws up a looooot of red flags. There's no true good end.
The game has been updated since Manly's playthrough, and I think many of the scenes have changed so I don't know if that one still exists anymore. Espoir Du Vide did a playthrough on her channel of the updated version of the game, if you're interested in checking that out.
I'm pretty late to the party here but just wanted to say a huge thanks to Manly and everyone who came to check out the game page after seeing the video! For a solo dev who is terrified of social media + terrible at trying to advertise my games, your support means the world to me and genuinely makes a huge difference :3 The game had practically no views/downloads before Manly put this up, haha. You definitely have impressive writing chops; I was expecting Castor/Castoria to have clearly demarked personality 'modes' as it were, but to my pleasant surprise, they never fully lose their sweet/malicious sides during their dialogue. Some of their most disturbing lines have an innocent cadence while lines I wouldn't have really thought twice about otherwise constantly made me brace myself as potential lead-ins for the protagonist getting maimed. It's a balancing act of character writing that I applaud you for; I hope further development of the story goes swimmingly.
If nothing else, the art is amazing. The 'real castoria' style is so cute I'm looking online for things to recreate it, absolute chic goals. Do you mind people cosplaying your characters?
Took me like 4 months to notice that little dot on the "i" in Castoria turn into a skull in the bad end route, right after the "Was our time together tedious" question. That's a nice bit of detail there showing how broken she was after the cruel answer knowing that she's nothing more than an object which sole purpose was to entertain rather than an actual being with sentience and the wish to love and be loved
Hopefully it's not bad form to respond on a 7 month old comment haha, but i noticed the skull and C changed color, and in one of the paths there it actually flips back as well. Very nice mental state indicator 1:13:45 ish swaps from sane to not, but after a bit of defusing dialog it swaps right back. I love attention to detail and I'm sad I had to scroll so far to find someone who noticed!
"Get on your knees; it's okay! Go!" MBH trying to provide real time relationship troubleshooting to the protagonist is amazing. Like a frustrated shoulder angel.
Game: literally glitching out in imposible ways, the title screen literally asking specific questions, the lights begin to flicker, literally something really scary. Protagonists: gee, what an *AwFuL WeAtHeR Am I RiGhT?*
39:25 *UH OH* you've really done it now protag. Nothing escalates an argument like telling someone they're overreacting. It's like trying to put a fire out with gasoline.
She definitely is still shackle by the habit of her "previous life" she's a character that is written to love MC, all of this happen in ONE night, right after she just transport to the reality, confused. She needs help to understand her situation but this MC is ugh; I am sure if they just sleep and discuss this in the morning with a clear calm mind, it'll work out fine. She really doesn't want to hurt him as I see it, genuinely care for him, then again maybe it because of her written destiny. She being obsessed over him might have to do with the MC in the game that she always with; fighting bosses and dying. What I would do is sent her to jail, she'd be out experiencing the real world, truly free from this shackle and maybe realises that she probably never loved MC. There are so many posibilities.
Y'know, as much as I feel bad for Castoria and think Protag's a tactless, senseless dimwit, I can see where he's coming from. He can't help it if he doesn't like her character and probably found other girls' and their routes more interesting. I do think that tactfully and kindly saying that he wasn't interested in her wouldn't have worked tho. That girl's used to being the main love interest in a dating sim route. She may not comprehend rejection-especially from the guy that she confuses with his in-game character whose lines and personality were decided by her creators.

Making the bad ending like "I am dying because I am a dick" and the good ending like "I will follow the flow". I mean in one of the dialogs the mc says "there is a fanbase made around you with thousands of people, why exactly me?" Even if it's for the plot, it feels like there could be a third ending in which you help her understand the outside world. And let her take her own choice if she wants to love u or not.

Honestly, this game would have been a lot more interested if there was a secret third route where you could kinda ease her into what it's like to be a real person and let her find herself before thinking about your relationship with her. Both Castoria & MC had valid reactions to the situation, in my opinion. Imagine you've gone on an adventure with someone, been with them through their darkest hours, and then they suddenly say they don't care about you? I'd be pretty pissed too. But MC obviously didn't know that the (as far as they knew) fictional character in a game they were playing was gonna come and confess her love to them. I'd be freaked the fuck out in their position. They both did shitty things, and both of their actions make sense as well for the most part.

Sounds like the plot of Catherine, where the protag literally can't stop burying himself deeper and deeper in trouble because he won't even try to explain for once he has a girlfriend to the other girl. I feel like it's one of those things in Japan where devs make protags be this dumb for the sake of plot and waifus. Especially if it's a harem-focused one along-side harem anime.
I've never seen romance depicted so well in a visual novel. They know each other for a minute and they already fight like a divorcing couple! Just like irl, amazing

Manly didn't get the good end. He got the bad & neutral end. There's an actual good end, though, where the protagonist is reasonable and Cas is perfectly vanilla & adorable with very limited complications.

Imagine an epilogue where the childhood friend mentioned in the beginning comes to visit, remembering the promise they made and since the MC has been isolated ever since the events as far as she knows he doesn't have a girlfriend. So she's ready to marry this guy only to learn that some videogame waifu spontaneously gained sentience and manifested in the real world.
What I like about the whole metaness, is that you can feel when she's going yandere on him, there's a very visible doubt in her choice, constantly asking the protag for approval of her doings, i mean in the end she doesn't want to hurt him at all, she herself thinks this is wrong and she is not herself doing this, but yet she feels her actions are validated because she's being unpredictable, something apparently the protag holds as a trait of interest on a character and maybe even a person, since she wants him to love her that badly
I wanna hear and see Castor, the male love interest, but turns out Manly is the only person who has a playthrough of this game. The free community copies are all claimed as well. Bummerrr

Aww, that's never fun. Hope it wasn't too serious. (As in landing you in ICU serious.) I have a pretty extensive surgery history myself. They accidentally cut my left ureter during the last one. Caught it befor things got too serious, but the stent they had to put in gave me a whole new perspective on what excruciating means. I can't recall what was like to recover before we had an extensive amount of entertainment right in our pockets. Hope things are going better now and wishing you a speedy recovery.

My surgery was quite extensive - parastomal hernia repair and abdominal dissection - which went fine but one of the incisions has opened up so I’m just miserable and in pain and can’t do anything about it. Castoria can't deal with the players rejection when she is brought into real life because within the confines of the game, she knows the player will inevitably complete all of her routes. To her, the only ending to the story is the player falling in love with her, because she is not allowed to interact with the player outside of the confines of what the game allows her to see. for example, if she sees the player perform a heroic action within the game, then as far as she is concerned the player is a hero. she can't understand that the player is anything else because the game doesn't show her the player themselves, only the stand in for the player, which is really only characterized by the choices the player makes. the irony is that even in her world the player is a pre written character destined to be her lover, so when the player is initially scared by her, she can't comprehend why because as far as she is concerned, the player is acting outside of their normal programming.
Exactly cant really fault her for not understanding the complexity of human emotions. I would honestly feel bad for her after coming out of her game. Truth be told i can even understand why she would be upset at being rejected. She left a world she knows to be with a guy she thinks she loves only to find most the comments was him being kinda angry with her at first. If Castoria has some emotions last thing she would need is being stressed out as soon as become real. If MC was calmer with her and questioned her calmly he might of understood the situation they are both in. The knife wouldnt of even come into play given Castoria was likely confused.
So so far the bad decisions made me angry, and feel really sad and depressed when Castoria goes nuts because prior to that she is my type. The good end though made me happy.
The meta concept of a character knowing you want to start a route with a different character reminds me of "YOU and ME and HER". Check that out if you want some psychological horror. (Bear in mind that H-scenes exist in that game, but obviously they won't be on RUclips!) Parallels have been drawn to DDLC, but apparently Dan Salvato had never played YOU and ME and HER...
When you're watching someone playing a game watching someone play a game and the person you're watching playing a game watching someone play a game has his waifu turned to life and now you are watching someone play a game with a protaginist that has a waifu who was inside a game.
Yandere : Pros - 100% love u - will do anything to make u happy Cons - might restricting your life (cant go anywhere without telling her, cant hang out with your friends till late, etc) - 'Yuka Takaoka incident" (or something similar) will be repeated once more if not "loyal" to her
I think it's just genuinely unsettling that in the beginning, she casually breaks the fourth wall throughout the gameplay and not even in a creepy way.. I think it's weird how she casually talks about her "route" and stuff
the thing is in the bad ending Protag is a bad dude. He dehumanifies Castoria from the start. She becomes insane, but he continues his idealisticness. Ofc Castoria is a bad person, she is being way too clingy, but Protag is bad too. The story must be a bit complicated
The protag's priorities are all fucked up, if my game ever started fucking up like his, the last thing I'm worried about is getting my rocks off on a 2-D figure. The dude should've been clicked off and did some troubleshooting, gaming laptops are WAY too expensive to be broken over some Dating Sim.
There is also the problem of illegal immigrant and all, she's an extracterial being with no identification number and existing nationality, so even if the relationship work out the main character become a criminal for bringing her here and Castoria has to live in isolation to avoid catching public eye for, you know. Having natural purple hair.

She REALLY sounds like one of my exes. And she would have "acted" that way with that fake "happy" tone as well, I'm pretty sure, the way she talks is so similar. This VA is obviously very inexperienced and just sounds like a casual person trying to sound "cheerful".
Did anyone else notice the wheel changing when Castoria’s tone changed? When she was positive it was white on the outside but when she would get negative and aggressive it would become black.
Everytime I hear the name Castoria, I can't help but think of a certain Caster in FGO. Hopefully she won't turn out as crazy as this one, but given the tendencies of Fate series....

I actually really like Castoria's voice, I replayed this vid over and over just to listen to her soothing voice. I know she's meant to voice a 'vanilla' kinda character, but her voice just have a unique charm to it

Seems like this game is looking at the inner workings of abusive partners and domestic violence. Gaslighting, physical + emotional abuse, isolation from friends and family, preventing them from having hobbies (games) and constantly demanding shows/ demonstrations of love and loyalty. Threatening them, belittling them, using things (the knife and her name) to permanently tie themselves to their partner so that leaving is 'impossible'. In the NSFW version, using sex as emotional blackmail. This is textbook abusive partner stuff. Very intense.

Bad Route: Protag become literally a Badass that sadly cant escape Castoria. Somehow survived bloodloss and possible dismemberment, now lived with a completely broken Yandere. Good Route: Protag goes all sweet and friendly, goes a bit trolly in the NSFW part when Castoria becomes a total DOM (insert Family joke here xD), but still accepts her for who she is. Darling Duality *Expose your Two-sided desire* Also, i am calling it Castoria *IS* Cana. I mean, we never got the description of who Cana is, so there is that. Honestly, the good ending is more unsettling than the bad one. Her only character trait is that she desperately wants to be with you. No hobbies, no interests, no passions or life goals. It's a self-destructive obsession that's inevitably going to take its toll on her sanity. She already wants you all to herself, not wanting you to be around anyone but her. That's going to cause trouble sooner than later. All the good route does is delay the inevitable.

Boy, the bad ending in this game is superb! The MC is so incredibly defiant, and the stuff he says is so _devoid_ of basic empathy... man's a facken Highlander! It's unnerving with all the yandereing, yet very comedic.
You know, I love a lot of what this game is, but I will come out and say it; I think it had a lot of missed potential with it. I won't go on a diatribe and list off multiple things it does wrong, but I will point out one thing. Duality in this is a nice idea for a driving force behind love, but it could have been focused on more than just two different endings. Showcasing more of Castor/Castoria's attachment and desires, how her excitement leads to impulsiveness, how her sweetness belies subtle attachment. And, on top of that, I know that appealing to the obsession angle in the good end with her thing of "I don't want you paying attention to other girls, even if they are just in a game" I feel could have been delved into. The duality of fantasy and reality would have been amazing to go into with more time. Like, yes, they are just from a game, but she was too. What about going into that more instead of the obsession topic changer she did? Having protag say "Well, you are from a game, but you're real...I want to know what you think of these girls. You're the only real one of them, so I will love only you, but I want to know what you think of them. I want to see your way of looking at things, and you can view it as me getting closer to you and your origin." How cool would that kind of angle be to get insight into a game with a character that literally came out of that game and loves you? She could give remarks on other characters, even explain her thoughts during certain scenes she was involved in. That would be awesome to do in my opinion. I like this experience as it is, but MAN the concept of duality as a whole with this premise is waiting to be expanded upon so badly in such cool ways.
I gotta say, even if he acted cruelly in the bad route, the protagonist toed the very fine line between a douchebag and a badass for saying the things he did and thinking the things he did that I cant help but respect him a little for it
I don't know if you noticed, but Castoria's name changes sometimes. 46:40 had a spiral on the top of the i. 47:54 had a skull as the top of the i and the colors of the name is inversed.
Really enjoying how by simply trying to be nice and not put your foot in your mouth (as much), shes much more stable and willing to listen, and even on the Bad End Route her dangerous behaviour is, at least at first, moreso a result of existential confusion about the difference between "A route in a video game" and "Actual real life" and wanting the MC to find her interesting than any desire to hurt them. Like, shes not emotionally or mentally stable, but its possible to get along with her if you actually try to show her understanding and calm her down when shes having A Moment instead of berating her.
The bad route really made me realize how much I prefer a love interest of a yandere to be an actually likeable character, since when they're just a total jerk, seeing them get murdered feels like watching one of those B-list horror films where the point is to watch unlikeable characters get slaughtered, whereas when they're actually a likeable character, the yandere's murderous actions actually feel cruel and it actually feels like horror

I don't know. Castoria seems to have a few screws loose on either route. But I like how in a "bad" one the protag has balls to keep going with his points. And also how even after defeat he thinks "You're not gonna kill me. And that is your biggest mistake." For some reason I see a "bad" ending as a good one, while a "good" one feels like a trap with Castoria being way too posessive
I mean, being just created, her entire personality was probably based on her memories from you going through her route and her programming. I.E.: Love the Protag and be what they want. When rejected her first option was to try and change into what she thought Protag wanted. When that didn't work, her only option is to try and change Protag.
At least Monika truly loved you to the point of protecting you and deleting herself (and the game) to give you your life/freedom, to choose to reinstall the game and play again or just live your life.
This game made me clenched everything in my body so hard, hoping that the protagonist ain't gonna say something stupid. First ending made me shocked confusely. Second ending...eh...okay I guess. It's okay as long there is no body carvin'.
I enjoyed the writing in this, and would have liked to see more. I always think that yandere characters have an interesting premise, but then their behaviour tends not to make any sense, which causes the character to fall flat. Here, her actions were understandable - unwanted and unnerving, particularly in the bad route, but you could see where she was coming from and why she was doing what she did. It would be interesting to see a full/longer game with this premise, where you have to figure out how to maintain a positive relationship with someone so obsessed with you without them getting desperate and turning violent, or going too far the other direction and letting them isolate and smother you. On that note... I hope the MC works on his communication skills, otherwise even the good end might get messy for him. I agree that it would have been nice to see a brief epilogue to assure us that things aren't going to get nasty. Maybe a brief scene of him reflecting on how the heck he's going to introduce this girl to his family, what with Christmas coming up? A glimpse of the near-future showing that he and his newly-3D love are figuring things out.

This is a little hilarious as I agree with Manly's interpretation of it that this is poking fun at yandere fans and those who dismiss the "vanilla" options in dating sims, but I do like it. Given how possessive some of the lines are even in the happy ending, I think the protagonist is probably doomed in the long run no matter what, but I could be reading too much into it.

For real. Not only does her voice fit the character but her inflection is perfect. Whoever this actor is they can really convey emotion so convincingly. Damn, I hope they've gotten a lot of VO work after this project! They're really talented!

To be honest, I find even the 'good' ending chilling. Her asking protag to delete the game was more than just her not wanting them to fake-date more fictional girls from her game, she outright tells them 'i don't want you hanging out with other people'. That, alongside her insistence on being together forever and her claiming she wouldn't leave even if mc tried to force them out throws up a looooot of red flags. There's no true good end.
The game has been updated since Manly's playthrough, and I think many of the scenes have changed so I don't know if that one still exists anymore. Espoir Du Vide did a playthrough on her channel of the updated version of the game, if you're interested in checking that out.

You definitely have impressive writing chops; I was expecting Castor/Castoria to have clearly demarked personality 'modes' as it were, but to my pleasant surprise, they never fully lose their sweet/malicious sides during their dialogue. Some of their most disturbing lines have an innocent cadence while lines I wouldn't have really thought twice about otherwise constantly made me brace myself as potential lead-ins for the protagonist getting maimed. It's a balancing act of character writing that I applaud you for; I hope further development of the story goes swimmingly.
Your characters feel so real! If the game really is in development, I'm eager for it to be finished and play it myself!

Took me like 4 months to notice that little dot on the "i" in Castoria turn into a skull in the bad end route, right after the "Was our time together tedious" question. That's a nice bit of detail there showing how broken she was after the cruel answer knowing that she's nothing more than an object which sole purpose was to entertain rather than an actual being with sentience and the wish to love and be loved
Hopefully it's not bad form to respond on a 7 month old comment haha, but i noticed the skull and C changed color, and in one of the paths there it actually flips back as well. Very nice mental state indicator

She definitely is still shackle by the habit of her "previous life" she's a character that is written to love MC, all of this happen in ONE night, right after she just transport to the reality, confused. She needs help to understand her situation but this MC is ugh; I am sure if they just sleep and discuss this in the morning with a clear calm mind, it'll work out fine. She really doesn't want to hurt him as I see it, genuinely care for him, then again maybe it because of her written destiny.
She being obsessed over him might have to do with the MC in the game that she always with; fighting bosses and dying.
What I would do is sent her to jail, she'd be out experiencing the real world, truly free from this shackle and maybe realises that she probably never loved MC.

Even if it's for the plot, it feels like there could be a third ending in which you help her understand the outside world. And let her take her own choice if she wants to love u or not.

Imagine an epilogue where the childhood friend mentioned in the beginning comes to visit, remembering the promise they made and since the MC has been isolated ever since the events as far as she knows he doesn't have a girlfriend. So she's ready to marry this guy only to learn that some videogame waifu spontaneously gained sentience and manifested in the real world.
I like how Manly’s only excuse for her when she demands to know why we just “left” her in the MC’s dream is;
“Gotta get all the routes.”
What I like about the whole metaness, is that you can feel when she's going yandere on him, there's a very visible doubt in her choice, constantly asking the protag for approval of her doings, i mean in the end she doesn't want to hurt him at all, she herself thinks this is wrong and she is not herself doing this, but yet she feels her actions are validated because she's being unpredictable, something apparently the protag holds as a trait of interest on a character and maybe even a person, since she wants him to love her that badly

Aww, that's never fun. Hope it wasn't too serious. (As in landing you in ICU serious.) I have a pretty extensive surgery history myself. They accidentally cut my left ureter during the last one. Caught it befor things got too serious, but the stent they had to put in gave me a whole new perspective on what excruciating means. I can't recall what was like to recover before we had an extensive amount of entertainment right in our pockets.

Castoria can't deal with the players rejection when she is brought into real life because within the confines of the game, she knows the player will inevitably complete all of her routes. To her, the only ending to the story is the player falling in love with her, because she is not allowed to interact with the player outside of the confines of what the game allows her to see. for example, if she sees the player perform a heroic action within the game, then as far as she is concerned the player is a hero. she can't understand that the player is anything else because the game doesn't show her the player themselves, only the stand in for the player, which is really only characterized by the choices the player makes. the irony is that even in her world the player is a pre written character destined to be her lover, so when the player is initially scared by her, she can't comprehend why because as far as she is concerned, the player is acting outside of their normal programming.
Exactly cant really fault her for not understanding the complexity of human emotions. I would honestly feel bad for her after coming out of her game. Truth be told i can even understand why she would be upset at being rejected. She left a world she knows to be with a guy she thinks she loves only to find most the comments was him being kinda angry with her at first. If Castoria has some emotions last thing she would need is being stressed out as soon as become real. If MC was calmer with her and questioned her calmly he might of understood the situation they are both in. The knife wouldnt of even come into play given Castoria was likely confused.
So so far the bad decisions made me angry, and feel really sad and depressed when Castoria goes nuts because prior to that she is my type.
The good end though made me happy.

The meta concept of a character knowing you want to start a route with a different character reminds me of "YOU and ME and HER". Check that out if you want some psychological horror. (Bear in mind that H-scenes exist in that game, but obviously they won't be on RUclips!) Parallels have been drawn to DDLC, but apparently Dan Salvato had never played YOU and ME and HER...

She REALLY sounds like one of my exes. And she would have "acted" that way with that fake "happy" tone as well, I'm pretty sure, the way she talks is so similar. This VA is obviously very inexperienced and just sounds like a casual person trying to sound "cheerful".
Did anyone else notice the wheel changing when Castoria’s tone changed? When she was positive it was white on the outside but when she would get negative and aggressive it would become black.

Gaslighting, physical + emotional abuse, isolation from friends and family, preventing them from having hobbies (games) and constantly demanding shows/ demonstrations of love and loyalty. Bad Route: Protag become literally a Badass that sadly cant escape Castoria. Somehow survived bloodloss and possible dismemberment, now lived with a completely broken Yandere.
Good Route: Protag goes all sweet and friendly, goes a bit trolly in the NSFW part when Castoria becomes a total DOM (insert Family joke here xD), but still accepts her for who she is.

Honestly, the good ending is more unsettling than the bad one. Her only character trait is that she desperately wants to be with you. No hobbies, no interests, no passions or life goals. It's a self-destructive obsession that's inevitably going to take its toll on her sanity. She already wants you all to herself, not wanting you to be around anyone but her. That's going to cause trouble sooner than later. All the good route does is delay the inevitable.

Boy, the bad ending in this game is superb! The MC is so incredibly defiant, and the stuff he says is so _devoid_ of basic empathy... man's a facken Highlander! It's unnerving with all the yandereing, yet very comedic.
You know, I love a lot of what this game is, but I will come out and say it; I think it had a lot of missed potential with it.
I won't go on a diatribe and list off multiple things it does wrong, but I will point out one thing. Duality in this is a nice idea for a driving force behind love, but it could have been focused on more than just two different endings. Showcasing more of Castor/Castoria's attachment and desires, how her excitement leads to impulsiveness, how her sweetness belies subtle attachment. And, on top of that, I know that appealing to the obsession angle in the good end with her thing of "I don't want you paying attention to other girls, even if they are just in a game" I feel could have been delved into.
The duality of fantasy and reality would have been amazing to go into with more time. Like, yes, they are just from a game, but she was too. What about going into that more instead of the obsession topic changer she did? Having protag say "Well, you are from a game, but you're real...I want to know what you think of these girls. You're the only real one of them, so I will love only you, but I want to know what you think of them. I want to see your way of looking at things, and you can view it as me getting closer to you and your origin."
How cool would that kind of angle be to get insight into a game with a character that literally came out of that game and loves you? She could give remarks on other characters, even explain her thoughts during certain scenes she was involved in. That would be awesome to do in my opinion.
I like this experience as it is, but MAN the concept of duality as a whole with this premise is waiting to be expanded upon so badly in such cool ways.
I gotta say, even if he acted cruelly in the bad route, the protagonist toed the very fine line between a douchebag and a badass for saying the things he did and thinking the things he did that I cant help but respect him a little for it

I don't know if you noticed, but Castoria's name changes sometimes. 46:40 had a spiral on the top of the i. 47:54 had a skull as the top of the i and the colors of the name is inversed.
It seems to do that whenever she's upset.
Also the voice acting on Castoria is great! I really like how soothing her voice is regardless whether she's sweet or sinister.
Really enjoying how by simply trying to be nice and not put your foot in your mouth (as much), shes much more stable and willing to listen, and even on the Bad End Route her dangerous behaviour is, at least at first, moreso a result of existential confusion about the difference between "A route in a video game" and "Actual real life" and wanting the MC to find her interesting than any desire to hurt them. Like, shes not emotionally or mentally stable, but its possible to get along with her if you actually try to show her understanding and calm her down when shes having A Moment instead of berating her.
The bad route really made me realize how much I prefer a love interest of a yandere to be an actually likeable character, since when they're just a total jerk, seeing them get murdered feels like watching one of those B-list horror films where the point is to watch unlikeable characters get slaughtered, whereas when they're actually a likeable character, the yandere's murderous actions actually feel cruel and it actually feels like horror

I don't know. Castoria seems to have a few screws loose on either route. But I like how in a "bad" one the protag has balls to keep going with his points. And also how even after defeat he thinks "You're not gonna kill me. And that is your biggest mistake."
For some reason I see a "bad" ending as a good one, while a "good" one feels like a trap with Castoria being way too posessive
I mean, being just created, her entire personality was probably based on her memories from you going through her route and her programming. I.E.: Love the Protag and be what they want.
When rejected her first option was to try and change into what she thought Protag wanted. When that didn't work, her only option is to try and change Protag.
Manly got the bad and the neutral route. There's a good route if you actually choose >all< the good options.

I enjoyed the writing in this, and would have liked to see more. I always think that yandere characters have an interesting premise, but then their behaviour tends not to make any sense, which causes the character to fall flat. Here, her actions were understandable - unwanted and unnerving, particularly in the bad route, but you could see where she was coming from and why she was doing what she did. It would be interesting to see a full/longer game with this premise, where you have to figure out how to maintain a positive relationship with someone so obsessed with you without them getting desperate and turning violent, or going too far the other direction and letting them isolate and smother you.
On that note... I hope the MC works on his communication skills, otherwise even the good end might get messy for him. I agree that it would have been nice to see a brief epilogue to assure us that things aren't going to get nasty. Maybe a brief scene of him reflecting on how the heck he's going to introduce this girl to his family, what with Christmas coming up? A glimpse of the near-future showing that he and his newly-3D love are figuring things out.
