It's not Greek but it's still the closest. It would be hellinistic more than exclusively Greek. I still like the composition though. Reminds me of the city states and their struggle against each other.
Shaddam IV loved Duke Leto like a son but as Irulan said the Corrinos calculate power and the Atreides were an actual threat if left unchecked plus without a male heir the Corrino held government could be challenged. In their weakened state while formidable it's better to get rid of problems before they fester.
Then Shaddam should’ve had the foresight so see why he doesn’t have any male heirs. Why wouldn’t he want to join houses with Atredies but chooses to scheme and doesn’t see that the throne can be blackmailed because of said scheme? Does Shaddam never suspect the Bene Gesserit are screwing his lineage?
Too many people are on the ITS NOT CANON!! The stories were well put together. Frank was boring at times, His son less boring. But both styles are good. People just need to be more open.
In my head canon, Vorian is always a 2007 era Gerard Butler, Xavier is Sam Heughan and Serena is a young Liz Taylor (with reddish hair). Anya Taylor Joy is scarily similar to how I pictured Rayna Butler. Because the Sci-Fi mini series being my first exposure to the Duniverse, the core characters will always be that cast. Timotheé would be perfect if he had a red/copper tint to his dark hair though. I also always imagine Barbora Kodetova as Chani with a reddish tint to her hair too.
The Emperor commanded them to take Arrakis as their fief complete, not a quasi-fief. The Harkonnens were offered a quasi-fief where they could control multiple planets (both Arrakis and their home planet Giedi Prime) but not the Atreides. The Emperor specifically did so in order to orchestrate the swift extermination of house Atreides. The attack would've been a logistical nightmare for the Harkonnens and the imperial forces to undertake if the Atreides forces were situated on multiple planets.
@@maazahmed506 ah, gotcha. makes sense now. so the house would be extinct, but there would still be former members of it, not counting paul, his mother and gurney?
@@tooslow4065 Yes. Usually, those remaining members either start serving other houses (Gurney Halleck for example was a member of house Halleck which was exterminated by house Harkonnen before the events of the first Dune) or retreat into exile to one of the planets in the outer rim of imperium that are under the dominion of the Spacing Guild and home to several banished/disgraced ruling classes. The Atreides were given the choice between accepting Arrakis as their fief complete (which meant confronting the political machinations that were being orchestrated against them) or rejecting the Emperor's orders and becoming a minor renegade house in the far ends of the imperium that eventually fades into irrelevancy. Basically, the fate of the Atreides was sealed the moment Shaddam decided they needed to go.

Being Greek myself, it’s really cool to hear that the atreides have Greek roots

I love the sound of the narrator's voice. It is very soothing.

Thanks for covering the Expanded Duniverse too. I guess I'm a rare fan that loves Frank's and Brian's books even though they have different styles.
Different strokes meet different folks, make for a fantastic time

Everyone should decide what’s canon for themselves. JMO
I liked them as well. They supplied good background histories.
Thanks for the video!
Superb video
I wonder if we're going to get interaction scenes between Jason Momoa and Anya Taylor Joy if they continue with Prophet and Children of Dune!
DV said hes only doing messiah then hes out
They will make a Children of Dune tv show this universe is a cash cow for WB if they do it right
As adune fan thanks😊😅

Fascinating ✨💞💖
why would atreides take every single person from caladan? why wouldnt they keep it and still go to arakis?
