I have a 7 year old specimen of these. They don’t do well with wiring (in my experience), the young branches are extremely fragile. I’ve found directional clip n grow is the way to go. Good luck with yours though, n thanks for sharing! 👍🏼

Thanks - its an interesting plant and has done okay with the pruning. I removed the wiring after a few months - you are correct that they don't seem to love it or need it. How has the trunk developed on yours?
