The videos are better and better as they come out. It’s awesome that you took your son out with you. I thinks it’s so great when parents show their kids what the outdoors have to offer. That place is definitely on my list. Thanks for sharing!
I love when my son gets to come out with me and I try to plan shorter/fun trips so he doesn't hate it. He plays soccer in spring and summer and now he wants to play football so he doesn't get to come out so often. Hopefully he stays interested as he gets older and I will have a hiking partner for along time to come.
@@HikeIntoTheSunsetFrom what I saw he had fun and you could tell he likes spending time with you as well. Plus man can he keep a fire going with all of that wood 😂
@@HikeIntoTheSunset I did the southeastern loop. It was a great trip, thank you for asking. The highlight of the trip was probably seeing a black bear in the middle of the trail like 50 feet in front of me lol
Good job guys! Congratulations Elliot on completing such a long hike with your dad! Beautiful forest and I particularly loved the drone shot at 12:34 ❤️ Glad you had such a great campsite to enjoy the sounds of the creek rushing by. I agree- makes for good sleeping. Thanks for sharing this scenic loop.
Thanks. Elliott has soccer games on most weekends in the spring and fall so I really enjoy when he gets to come out with me. Hopefully he will stay interested as he gets older and it's nice to have a youngster to help collect firewood haha
I wasn't sure what it would be like but it was really nice when we got up there. Looks like peak foliage in the central and northern part of the state is between now and the next week or so.
Great video once again. I’m heading up to Quehanna in about a month to hike the Eastern Loop. It’s great to see kids on the trail-I have three boys of my own 14-20 years old and they’re slowly coming around to the idea of living out of a bag for a few days.
Awesome, you should have a great time hiking the eastern loop. When I bring my son I just try to keep the miles low and keep it fun. He plays soccer pretty much year round so I know he can handle it but I still don't want it to get to the point of feeling like a death March to him lol
What trail are you on when you camped at the bridge? Was thinking of taking my son on this loop and wasn’t sure if you were on the bridge trail or if you stayed on the mosquito Creek Trail, and then backtracked
Hey, I went back and checked and I could not find the GPX for this trip I must not have saved it. We parked at the trailhead on riddle rd right by red run trail. We just used the basic DCNR map and didn't have any problems. www.docs.dcnr.pa.gov/cs/groups/public/documents/document/dcnr_009418.pdf Hope that helps.
I did almost that exact same loop this summer, so it was great to see it in its fall colors! I passed the bridge campsite exactly because it had few hammock options, looped all the way around to that site you saw on the Meeker trail. It was definitely a good spot! Thanks for sharing your time with Elliott with us!

I'm the guy who recognized you in the parking lot. Nice video, glad to see you guys had a good trip!
Hey man! Haha. Yeah it was a good time to get out in the woods. How was your trip, did you say you were doing the entire eastern loop?

That's awesome, I've still yet to see a bear on the trail. Lots of bear scat but no bear yet. Lol

Wow, the fall foliage looks spectacular! Cool drone footage, too!

Nice video. Treasure those times with your son. They grow up and develop their own interests way too fast.
They do for sure. He already has way too many friends lol.

@@HikeIntoTheSunset I know the feeling. My longer trips have been on hold for the fall because of soccer season which just wrapped up today.
Yeah, I still have some pto days that I need to put in for before the end of the year to hopefully get out for another good trip or two this fall yet.
Your drone footage is awesome! Loved the pan out showing that bridge and the tarps. Gives a whole new perspective. Can't wait to see more!
Thank you, still learning how to get good drone shots and how to integrate them into the videos.
I live about 35 minutes from the boot camp and we was just up that way today on the harley
Great area, I bet quehanna highway would be a great cruise on a bike.

The campsite was on mosquito creek trail. I think the junction with bridge trail was close by.
Ham-ox? I don't think you scored very high in school. Otherwise, a nice video.
Do you have a GPX file you could share? I’m thinking about a trip this weekend in that area.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I kept checking that site out as we were going by because it looked like a really nice spot. Such a great area in general.
