What is a CFW PS3?
CFW is customer firmware, it's a modded version of the OS that allows you to do things SONY's official version doesn't..
You can real-time hack online, or burn copies of ps3 games, or play unofficial games .

Why would you jailbreak a PS3?
Jailbreaking is technically changing the software experience of your PS3 from an Official Firmware to a Custom Firmware.
This is essentially useful because it opens your doors to the possibilities of accelerating your hardware by overclocking it (which can be critical if not done correctly) and also adding different Applications and Softwares on your console to do thing that Sony did not intend your Playstation to do.
BUT that is not why even half of the PS3 owners jailbreak their PS3s. The only reason most of the people jailbreak their Ps3s is so that they can download pirated PS3 games off the internet and play them using MultiMan or some other software.
Bottom-line is that Jailbreaking if done properly and used correctly then can greatly improve your gaming experience and make your Console a lot more fun too.

As an update:
Evert phat model will support CFW
Slim models from CECH-20xx/21xx/25xxA/B 0C (3rd quarter of 2010) will work.
25xx 0D (4th quarter of 2010) start to not be compatible, gotta be careful there, these are in the question mark range.
So 2501 A is compatible ?

You could contact Microsoft and ask them to port it to ps3 for you..

Could you do a video on PS3 slim cooling?
I'm wondering if it is ok to leave the top case off, and play like that. This way I'm getting almost 10 degrees C lower temperatures. (paste is new)
But, some knowledgeable dudes on psx-place recommend against this. (and the hole cut on top of the case above the fan) They say, that I brake the thermal design of the console, and other components will suffer from less cooling.
Only the CPU and RSX gets better airflow, for the rest (RAM, ...) it's worse.
Could you do a mythbusting on this one? Would be really interesting and helpful.

@@billykibakithejamaican Lol, probably you are right. I cannot measure the RAM temperatures to check if they go up, or not. I have no thermal camera, nor an infrared tool.

Only intend to use the system as stock and regular use features but want to keep the ps2 playback compatability. Should I update the system? To which update would you think?
if you dont care about modding it, just do the update

So just trying to avoid that lol. I know this is the E01 and it's not fully compatible but trying not to change what it has if possible. What do you on this?
