  • We show a simple contact poling system to develop piezoelectric materials with size up to 50 mm that can be used in university lab or industry research lab to evaluate various material compositions and process conditions. It has a 30 kV DC power supply and a poling fixture.

This system is used by more than 20 universities in the USA, Europe, Japan, and India.
Samples can be soaked in silicone oil or transformer oil to minimize arc of air. Samples can be polymer film or sheet, nanocomposites of polymer and ceramic, or ceramic disc. Samples can have electrode by vacuum sputtering or screen printing, or you can simply use aluminum foil or conducting rubber as top electrode. It is simple to use in the lab to produce meaningful size for further piezoelectric test. it can also be set up on a hotplate to pole the sample at elevated temperatures. You can also use this tool to compare different poling voltage, time, and temperature.
