This video should be shown to all new employees! Most are not aware of 401K/Roth max contributions...great explanation! Charts/graphs make the content easier to understand. Great to hear from you, Tyler! Roll safe out there!

401k and Roth IRA are fine, but some of us don't want money that is unusable for 40 years..... I can invest in my own brokerage account

Trucking is not a career, you can't scale it you can't advance it.
    It's a lifestyle.

it's stagnant as a company driver career once you top out.... but owning and growing and expanding, you absolutely can scale...... especially if you are also buying stock and collecting dividends from the three largest trucking companies....

Imo I don’t like these s&p indexes, I don’t think they’re bad but they barely keep up with inflation, if you have a 401k I don’t think you have to invest more of your own money, if you are in a good situation out of debt and you have an emergency fund, I think it’s time for you to start taking risks, nobody became rich with secured investments and that’s what Dave doesn’t get, you have to start something, create something, if you choose trucking than you create your company, whatever your into you create the business and be willing to go bankrupt that’s the only way, or live a miserable life and “retire”

If you can average 10% in the s&p and inflation is 2-3%, you aren’t breaking even you are walking away with 7-8%. How is that keeping up? Just say you don’t have patience

@ rent doubled in the last 5 years, house prices increased around 40% interest rates increased on top of prices, groceries nearly doubled in the last 5 years I don’t know where you get those numbers at, what I meant is not all of us are meant to be employees until retirement I much rather retire young in a different country than to work until 65, but that’s just me I never said s&p was bad because it’s not, but relying on an s&p index is an employee mindset I just don’t like but that’s me you’re fine investing your money today so that you can relax at 65

    • @larrysmith2655

@@alejandrosotelo5176 the average inflation for the U.S. is 2-3%. If stocks didn’t outpace inflation in general, millionaires and billionaires wouldn’t buy them lol. That part is just common sense. The categories that you called out are some of the highest price changes but that doesn’t account for everything in your life. If everything doubled or went up 40%, no one could afford anything which is not true. People buy things everyday. Our incomes didn’t just double or go up 40%. Also, this period in time comes off the wave of COVID where the FED and White House told us inflation were under control. Blindsiding the American public. You can’t shut down the economy and expect no changes afterwards. We have been paying for those decisions literally.
