He didn't kill them because of the dog. He killed them because of what the dog represented - the last gift from his wife whom he loved tremendously, who had just recently died and whose gift would keep him from being so alone.
Mansoor was right it wasn't the car but the memories attached
It wasn't just his dog they killed. It was a parting gift from his wife to remember her by.
I suspect, if they'd just taken the car and beaten him up, they MIGHT have been able to talk him out of coming after them. Viggo might have been able to reach an arrangement with him. But killing the dog? Nope. No going back from that one.
You guys should check out a video of Keanu Reeves practicing his shooting for these movies.
He practiced with real guns and the speed with which he goes through a shooting range is *WAY* beyond insane, it's shocking how fast he goes.
What you see in this movie is what he can do for real.

I read that in John Wick II, the director told him to slow down his shotgun reloading so that the audience could see what he was doing.

When Marcus asks if the contract is exclusive, and Vigo tells him it's open, there's something implied there.
If it had been exclusive, Marcus would likely have refused it, and just about everything that followed from that, would have played out differently. But since it's open, Marcus knows his friend is in danger, and he acts accordingly.
Keanue Reeves has made many great movies. Speed and Point Break are both excellent action movies well worth checking out for them as well.
the character john wick he fell in love and when his wife died of cancer, the only connection was the puppy to help him grief, when they killed that grief, they sign their own death warrants...if they only stole the car..he would have got it back with a tank full off gas..and a million pounds to sweeten the deal..he would have let it go..but the death of his dog was the point of no return.
I agree,Taking the car was just stepping up to the line but when he killed the dog I'm afraid he stepped way over that line with no way back.
It's because of his love for his wife, that John left that life behind. She was obviously a very special woman. John used his skills to help build Viggo's empire. And then in return Viggo did not have the decency to teach his son who John Wick was, or what he did for them. Instead he let John's name, & the knowledge of him become obscure. On top of that, Viggo raised his son to be a completely entitled, spoiled, & arrogant narcissist, who thought he never had to answer for anything.
Yoseph completely interrupted, dishonored, & defiled John's home, his life, his peace, his time to grieve, & his wife's memory. He robbed him of his ability to heal after her passing. He brought the mob life back into John's life, with violence, & force, & shattered the new life that John had built. So it wasn't JUST about a dog, & a car.
Keanu Reeves lost his wife & daughter in real life, you know that this performance was very meaningful to him

Especially not if he restored the car himself, and the pup is a gift from his beloved late wife. That’s exponentially asking for trouble.
The Continental tv show is a prequel to the movies, it takes place in the 1970s and is about how Winston came to be the Manager of the Continental Hotel. Charon is also an important character in the tv show, the actor who played him in the John Wick movies, Lance Reddick, died in July 2023 during the filming of Ballerina.
Ballerina, directed by Chad Stahelski, will be the 5th movie in the Wickverse which takes place between John Wick 3 & 4 and follows a female killer from the same Assassin's Guild or "family" as John.
Chad also directed the vampire action movie Day Shift, it's like John Wick meets Blade and stars Jamie Foxx. It would have been a good reaction movie for Halloween.

25:00 the girl was killed by the Hand because she as an assassin committed the taboo of doing business in the Continental Hotel. It supposed to be neutral grounds so no killing is allowed there.
The note on the dog's cage said he was going to be put down, so John rescued a dog that was scheduled to be killed. That dog will be in the next movie too.
Fantastic choice for a movie reaction! You should check out the movie, The Equalizer, with Denzel Washington, very similar revenge movie I think they would like.

I can't help thinking they're having their minds corrupted by watching these movies that they normally would never watch.
I love Naveed and Mansoor and love seeing them enjoy all these movies. Also, while Keanu Reeves might be a more appealing leading man, The Accounant (2016), with Ben Affleck and Anna Kendrick, is all the action of John Wick with a better story. I highly recommend it.
Hello, in the U.S. 98%of people with cats or dogs, they are family, 4 legged kids. People are heart broken when their pet dies. If you watch Wick 2, you will see a little more of the world he is part of.

There are exactly two men I would never even fight even on their deathbeds -- Mike Tyson because of his boxing, and Keanu Reeves because his legitimate skills with guns. Keanu is the real deal in gun-fu. I think he trained with Tauren Tactical. If I'm wrong someone will correct me.

All the John wick films are good and deserve a watch, but this is the best in my opinion.

John was out of the life. His wife died from cancer and the dog was the gift to him. By killing the dog they took his last link to his wife.

I truly love watching these two watch these movies it’s so much fun. And I have to say you give them a lot of really good movies to watch I’ve seen them all pretty much. These two guys are two of the best film critics I’ve ever seen and just by the expressions on their faces. It’s just so much fun watching them see these movies. You couldn’t have ever picked to better gentlemen to be the film critics. Thankyou so much for the enjoyment. It’s holloween today here in the US. Can I make a suggestion for a movie for them it’s called “13 Ghost” I would love so much to see them react to that movie and to watch them get scared like crazy hahahahahahaha.
