Cracking looking fly davie 👌
Davie beautiful pattern tks for sharing 😊
Nice fly Davie, it is very similar to the Gee-Hi dry fly that works very well as a beetle dry fly and is also a great searching pattern. 👍
Great looking fly Davie, would love to see how you fish that fly and other bumbles.
Hi Davie, This is a great pattern …as you say, it’s an ideal fly to represent a terrestrial like a Beetle or Hopper blown onto the water surface. Best regards, Wayne 😀👍
Great tying Davie great pattern works really well when there's a good wave on great stuff..
Gorgeous looking fly.

Splendidă muscă 👏!
Like the cloak being tied forwards
Magnificent as always.
As the subject regarding tools has been brought up, what scissors are you using these days?
Hi @Kadaver89,
I'm using an old pair of Tiemco Razor scissors which I dropped on the floor and broke the point off one of the blades so I filed it back and lightly sharpened them though I got away with it as I have to be honest I usually do a bad job of this..They do need another sharpening but with my skills I might not get away with it again..
All the very best Davie
👍🏻👍🏻
👍🏻
We do not fish flies like this in the U.S. They are beautiful. Would this fish right under the surface or on top?
Hi @pennwhitley,
It's classed as a bob fly which is normally fished on the top dropper off one or two flies below so it's fished just under the surface or as you lift off you can bomb the fly on the surface just as you lift off..Using a floatant will help this as well it's also worth using a lighter hook as the season goes on...I'm glad you liked the fly..
All the very best Davie

Hi Davie lovely fly, was reading the other comments someone ask if this was fished just under the surface or on top ,would love to know the answer to that cheers Mike.
Hi Mike,
I would normally fish this fly on the top dropper with one or two flies below, it's classed as a bob fly so it can be fished just under the surface or bobbed on the surface as you lift off..Tying it on a lighter hook would also help to keep it up as well as adding a floatant too..I'm glad you liked the fly..
All the very best Davie..
Great pattern Davie, thank you for sharing. Love what you said about different dressings for the same fly I’ve been playing around with different looks for a simple cdc emerger recently. Good tying practice and interesting to see how even a change of dubbing affects the fly.😊
You really had to go and call me out on my nail 💅 biting habit and crusty whip finisher??? 😭😭😭
