Like Don Rickles, Jonathan was one of a kind. The images conjured up from the ether in his ultra imaginative mind never failed to make me laugh. It's almost like something other than himself was making it all up and even he had no idea what he was going to say or do next and he did enjoy performing getting a kick out of himself while it was happening. RIP
To whoever put johnathan winters up thanks a bunch when he lifted the skeleton with black hair and said "if this dont work this time im going to bathesda" I WET MYSELF LAUGHING THAT MUCH thanks a bunch 😂😂😂😂kisses hugs cuddles and all nice things neat belfast.
"Whatever happened to Anastasia ?" "He got a bad haircut" Jonathan never knew what he was going to say next until it happened and this time when "it" happened he cracked himself up with his answer. This is the only time I've ever seen him break character. I cannot blame him though, that answer was so ridiculous it was hilarious. Burt and Jonathan working together: Burt was pretty funny but because he hogged their time together doing his thing J.W. never had a chance to get going. And Dan Rowan is in the same boat. He also was funny but dominated the scene not allowing JW to get into a real groove. There will never be another Jonathan Winters. He was in a class all by himself.
Burt Reynolds actually held his own pretty good when he and Jonathan were improvising. Mr. Rowan j-u-s-t about lost it a couple times in their sketch, but the whole bit was pretty good. And Orson Welles doing the intro, hosting and outro... THAT was different!
"I never touch it myself, I don't smoke or drink, I'm church people. But uh, I've been known to shoot a pigeon every once in a while. Shot one of them the other day, didn't have nothing to do, and knocked him off a weather vane." XD XD XD
@jjcavillo, Dear sir, regarding you question on Mr. Winters, Pryor and whatshisname, they're dead. Happen a few years ago as I recalled. But what I can supply to your for a premium price are three known losers. They're not funny in the normal sense, but they're famous and appeared lately in some parodies. And no sir, those aren't parrots of chickadees. For $10,000 I can offer you a used Biden, a hag named Harris and an elderly, grey haired windbag called Obama/O'Bummer, something like that. Send me a check and I'll put them in a Grey Hound bus to your address. Your's insincerely, Albert Rosenberg New Trenton, NJ. 364 BS Shat Rd. 31419
@@tedsilversyeager840 I quit watching Carlin about two years after he started. His fame went to his head and he went into the crap pile. I didn't want to follow him. 😅
Did you see the credits? Produced and Directed by Greg Garrison. A Greg Garrison Production. Greg Garrison was the total genius behind the scenes of NBC's The Dean Martin Show. Johnathan Winters was also a wonderful guest star on that classic television variety show.
Great baby boomers ✌️ classic TV shows and other , I hope as a some what boomers that I to live 48 more years free and independent from nursing home that be 117years old
Great to see Burt ,this is not 1981, but it must be the same year Burt was filming whitelighting, as he said he just came from the set, so it must be .75,
Is there anything better professionally than to have Orson Welles introduce you. Jonathan Winters was a comic genius!
Love Mr. Winters. I miss him terribly
Mr Orson Wells was always magnificent
I love Burt's laugh.

The sketch with Dan Rowan was hysterical!! I actually remember when phones switched from a rotary dial to buttons.😁

Johnathan has kept me sane in our world
Sharp as tack! Quickest Witt and Adliber! Genius of comedy.
Wonderful! ❣️🎬📺😊
Repackaged version of Winters' variety show (first-run syndicated 1972-1974) with added host-runners of Orson Welles for Showtime (1981).
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT
The funniest man who’ve ever performed on the stage.

The last skid was hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂
This was back in the early 70's.
Yes it looks it 🤔
Yep Burt Reynolds White Lightning movie came out in 73 so had to be around then
This Burt Reynolds episode dates to September 1973.
8:10 The same genuine laugh he did in the opening scene in Smokey and the Bandit II 🤠
It was nice of them to make it where the Studio Audience is able to Hear the proceedings.

Love this
Winters was Robin William's idol.
His mind is amazing. Before key & Peel, so many swiped his style. Aa a kid I use to laugh at his interviews, so zainey
absolute genius,i'll bet his childhood was different, burt was a funny man together with jon, well probably one of his highlights, rip to both
26:34 For a moment,i thought they were going to re enact a scene from Deliverance.
Me too. I thought for sure Winters was going to say something like, "Hey, where's that banjo music coming from? It's making me nervous..."
Burt Reynolds AKA Lieutenant Dan August,The Bandit RIP.
Where are today’s George Carlins, Richard Pryors and Jonathan Winters.
Robin Williams of the world.
I saw Carlin in Vegas, at the end of his career...I walked out, along with many other'....he was horrible....
You forgot Eddie Murphy.... even though he's still alive and no longer doing stand-up.

The legend Burt Reynolds in his prime
Ahhhhhh.... the 70's. Sideburns and porn stache worked every time.
No audio today. Other videos work, just not this one for some reason.
Orson Welles sounding like his Mercury Theater days.
He was GREAT .THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME HAPPY
Why is Orson Welles doing a prologue for Jonathan Winters? Weird choice considering these two are so highly dissimilar in background and work.

Can't hear
White Lighting is mentioned,so I am guessing this originally aired in 1973.
and Laugh In was around the early 70's as well
I thought Burt's sideburns looked way too long for 1981. This is definitely early to mid 70s.
Johnathan Winters is laugh out loud funny 😂
It was a tragedy allowing BR to dominate (who prepared his part)when I would rather have heard JW
They were simply ad-libbing. One did not monopolize the other. Besides, people wanted to hear from the guests he had on, that was the whole point!
Would have been excellent if i could hear it properly
Lady interviewer; what did you think of that woman? Rasputin; she was big in the sleigh bells😂😅🤣🤦♀️
Burt Reynolds looks 44 years old on this show .
bart is laughing because jonathan is ad-libing all of it
To bad the sound is too low. I couldn’t watch it.
I believe the original broadcast was on September 13, 1973.
@Magnetic Tape Head ... no sound
This might be great if the audio was in sync.
😂😂😂😂😂😂👏
No one funnier
The best was him doing Rasputin. Hilarious.
I miss the real natural talent. Today there is no talent anymore.
Winters never particularly amused me or even made me laugh.
Johnathan winters ❤ kisses kisses kissses kisses.
Hi country guys! 🤣🤣🤣
To many middle age and older actors , Hollywood should put teens and 20 + years old on to , 😎

White Lightning came out in 1973. I think this was a summer broadcast then and rehashed into a Showtime special which was broadcast in 1981.
High IQ!
21st century---- no talent like this-- more is the pity
I never knew Rasputin was trans. Winters predicted the future and the past.
Burt Reynolds looks 44 years old on this show .
He was 40 yrs old in 1976, so not quite...this was in the early 70's.
@@coldwinter5710 thank you ✌🏻
It says 1981
@@reneeborjas1877Burt's movie White Lightning was released in 1973. This show was probably re-released in 1981.
