Having Bulgarian TV (even when we lived in Spain for 3 years we had it)helps a lot. Being in the middle of Bulgarian conversations. The biggest help has been this summer, working in a kitchen were nobody spoke English, I was forced in to talking which helped brake a barrier. I have come to realise that the only way to learn a language is to but yourself in a situation were you have no choice but to speak and find a way to understand. I’m still far away from knowing the language but I’m definitely on my way after this summer and have a lot more confidence I will get there
I really love the idea of eating street food and trying different things. But I also love being in a sit-down restaurant. It's also fun to talk to the people if they're not busy like this lovely lady that you just interviewed.
To say “ thank you” seems insufficient. Your videos, how you interact with everyone, your insights and advise is invaluable. I can’t wait to visit Bulgaria. Should we ever meet, the beers are on me my friend!👍🤞🍻🍻🍻
A really nice piece of cooking going on. Looks good. When I get there I will check the place out. Cleary a very experienced chef still on that stove grinding out bless him lol.
Thanks very much, Petya would not agree with the Bulgarian part, 8 years together see believes that I should speak more, being here permanently from November has definitely increased my confidence with the language. The pasta was super tasty
Since you asked, I love street food festivals, street food and sit down restaurants. I do not like to cook but LOVE food. Food in Europe is SO superior.
The festival is not on at that time, but the StreetFood Park opens at the beginning of May. This is down on the beach Here is the video about the place ruclips.net/video/zLJynCucS4k/видео.html
You made my day!!! I saw you have been already offered a beer, however, if we ever meet you got a drink on me too! If you ever have chance visit Karlovo with the cities around (in aproximatley 50km you will find Sopot, Kalofer, Kazanlak, where is the Rose Valey and a lot of historical mouseums), and do check the little secret villages like Chiflika, where the mountains are hiding hot water pools!!!
These are great tips, I would be happy to connect with you on Facebook and when the time comes to visit these places i'd be happy for you to show me around....Is there any news on the Rose Festival this year wether it will go ahead
During the next two episodes of Varna Street food on my channel you do get to see a bit more of the food. Thanks for the input and in future food videos I will make a point of showing off the food a bit more. As for my Bulgarian I’m still some way away from we’re I want to be
I really enjoyed this video. How long did it take you to learn that level of Bulgarian? My wife is Bulgarian and I haven't learnt any as we are in Portsmouth. The alphabet is daunting enough for me but she wants to retire in Bulgaria. She's from Dulbrich not far from you.
Well to give you some context, I have be with my wife for 10 years, The first 3 I didn't try to learn anything, we were on the ships. Then she became pregnant, I said to myself that they are not going to have a language were they can talk to me and I don't understand. I Push 2 weeks to learn the Alphabet (this is very important when learning Bulgarian). I took a couple of apps on the phone like Duo Lingo and another and practiced for a few months when I could whilst I was still on the ship. The next year we went to live in Spain so the Bulgarian stop as I started with Spanish, found a great tool called Anki flashcards that you make your on flashcards, with pictures and sounds. Though During this time in Spain we had Bulgarian TV, Petya and Zhana spoke together in Bulgaria and Petya would often say things to me in Bulgarian first, If I didn't understand she would repeat in English (It was not 100% of the time though). After we moved to Bulgaria and I know that I had to start learning again though I didn't push it too much as I went to work back on the ships. Every time I was home and we were with friends I would be Surrounded with Bulgarian Language (constantly listening for words and connecting words). Then Developed a bit of a system....I made a video about it if your interested to learn Bulgarian ruclips.net/video/3qHcodozTiY/видео.html
@A Taste of Bulgaria oh wow.. I'm going to check your video out now. My wife has 2 boys 16 and 14 born here in the UK and they only know a few words as they were born here
@@Mark.Claughton I've been married to my Bulgarian wife for 23 years, and while I learned a little bit during our courtship, and have visited Bulgaria many times, I've not learned the language. I'd like to retire there, so I've started making a concerted effort to learn the language. I think you could make progress over a long period of time if you spend 30-60 minutes a day. And if you are indeed a truck driver, you might be able to listen to language tapes while driving. Yup, he did his time, but he has a good spirit about him, -still. Anyway, I will pass through as it looks really good. Was, or is there any nice slow-cooked braised type dishes going on? Cheers
There was some really good hot smoked stall, with pulled pork, pulled beef, cheek, ribs. Amazing 🤩. This was a festival though that’s on 3 times a year, is good to check the visit Varna website to see if it’s on at the time your there. I’ll have a few coming in a couple of weeks that will have the regular street food served in Varna on a daily Basis.

No lockdown really, few restrictions that are slowly going to be lifted....everything open except Bars, nightclubs but they say this will be lifted soon

Absolutely my pleasure, I love this country and definitely think it deserves to be promoted in a positive light.
Fantastic video, your Bulgarian is great too! From a fellow Brit living in Varna. :)

How much a couple needs to live well in Burgas or Varna per month without paying rent?
Your Bulgarian has advanced quite a lot! Браво!
