  • Hi welcome to the Channel thanks for tuning in please Subscribe if you like what you see, to those who are already Subscribers your support is very much appreciated, thank you.
This video is all about the new Automated Shift Assistant system from BMW.
An automatic or manual clutchless system which allows you to ride the motorcycle in a non conventional way.
The bike no longer has a clutch lever, it no longer has a conventional foot gear shift lever.
This foot gear shift lever has become a glorified switch which relays to the bikes ECU to change gear either automatically in "A" mode or by the rider pushing down or up on the foot gear lever in "M" mode.
I hope you enjoy my first ride impressions of this bike as I compare it against my own R1300 GS Trophy Enduro X without ASA but with a quick shifter.
Thanks again for watching Caledonian Biker if you enjoyed the video please give it a like (thumbs up).
Hope to see you next time.

Great video John, I fully agree with your review of the R1300GS with the ASA. I took the same bike out yesterday from Lloyds at Carlisle and cannot believe how easy it is to ride and manage the gears. As someone with painful arthritis and poor hand joints I was on the edge of giving up biking. This has reinvigorated my desire to continue biking, as you say it is a game-changer. I'm ordering one from Lloyds 👍

@@antonoat Hi re the auto R1300GS with the ASA I've rode a few auto type bikes this year and the BMW one in my opinion will be a bit of a game changer for most people looking for an easier ride.

@@caledonianbiker I've covered over 200,000 miles on 3 GS's and an R1250r the gearbox was never their strong point so anything which improves this aspect will surely just increase sales of this already super popular bike!
