K2 Black Panther - The POWER of one of the Main Tanks in the World
⭕ K2 Black Panther - The black panther from the land of kimchi is one of the most powerful main battle tanks in the world at present. Its power is also ranked above that of the M1 Abrams, Challenger 2 or T-14 Armata.
    ✍️ Video Summary:
Video discusses the development and capabilities of the K2 Black Panther, a main battle tank from South Korea, which is considered one of the most formidable tanks globally. Initially proposed in the early 1990s, the K2 aimed to replace older models and enhance South Korea's domestic weapon production capabilities. Despite facing challenges such as financial crises and skepticism, South Korea persisted in developing the tank, incorporating advanced technology and prioritizing electronic warfare capabilities.
The K2's development involved extensive research, collaboration with experts worldwide, and rigorous testing. It boasts cutting-edge features such as the CN08 120mm smoothbore gun, advanced fire control systems, active defense mechanisms, modular armor, and enhanced mobility. Furthermore, it is equipped with smart ammunition, a comprehensive situational awareness system, and advanced training and maintenance capabilities.
With its advanced features and impressive performance metrics, the K2 Black Panther is regarded as one of the most powerful tanks globally, surpassing even renowned models like the M1A2 Abrams and the T14 Armata. Its deployment is seen as crucial for enhancing South Korea's defense capabilities against potential threats from North Korea and China.
Overall, the K2 Black Panther represents South Korea's significant achievements in military technology and serves as a symbol of national pride and security.

This is just the beginning. Korea will continue to research and create new, more advanced tanks, self-propelled artillery fighters, various advanced missiles, laser weapons, submarines, and combat ships. In the future, with the creation of aircraft carriers and the Space Defense Agency, Korea will manufacture everything except nuclear weapons, including reconnaissance satellites, rockets, and space weapons.

as a south korean, first of all, i am fully ok to hear the expression 'land of kimchi'. it is slightly funny and unused to, but thats it. even if someone says to us 'you guys eat kimchi everyday, right?', it dosent matter because it is true. have you guys heard of kimchi fridge? yes we have our own fridge only for kimchi. however, 'your house's kimchi tastes awful' does matter and goes serious. because making kimchi is kinda annual family occasion. so i would say kimchi is more of a family issue than a racism. for us, kimchi is beyond you may consider and hard to be a target of racism to make us angry. thank you for introducing our fancy tank!

It's not only inspired from M1 and T80U. It is also inspired from Leclerc (auto loader) and Leopard 2 (powertrain). It has also features, what other tanks don't have (ISU, snorkling capability) and its light weight is advantageous in mountainous landscape which Korea is. It is definitive better weapon system than the export version of M1A2 and Leopard 2A7 as tests in Norway has shown. Korean military experts sees the M1A2 (US version) as the best in the world because of the DU amor and munition.

    K2 tank and its advantages:
It lost all main battle tank competitions in Europe in which it was entered - except for Poland, which was (fortunately not anymore) ruled by military ignoramuses.
A tank that, under the conditions of the European battlefield, has:
    too weak armor,
suspension too short - need on least one axle more,
stupid and dangerous ammunition warehouse, for the crew
driver's seat "integrated" with the extermination zone defined by the ammunition warehouse,
outdated and idiotic geometry of the tower - especially its front part,
    and so on...
A great tank to fight the super modern North Korean army... unfortunately not for European conditions...
Finally, remind me how many European countries have chosen it? Apart from Poland, where people from Minister Płaszczak to his entourage received a lot of money to allow Koreans to enter the European market...
Just as the FA-50 was sold to Poland as a combat aircraft with zero combat capabilities, the K2 tank was sold to the Polish army for bribes and the vision of nice parades in front of a government with totalitarian aspirations. Fortunately, the new government is slowly recovering idiotics decisions from of the previous government. Maybe Ukraine will get FA-50s from us as a gift... but I don't know what they will do with them... Use them like fake targets...

    • @0o926
      @0o926 День назад +1

""It lost all main battle tank competitions in Europe in which it was entered "
You right. K2 lost all main bttle tank competitions. But, not becouse, K2 was not enough good for Europe. Bcz, political reason. And, Korea is not in EU country. And Korea is just new in weapon market. It's why. and exactly won from L2 at the Norway MBT competition by performance and quality. But, K2 lost Norway by political reason. Even got more point than L2. You can check about it.
And now K2 won Poland MBT competition. The weapon market is not as simple as one might think.
The purpose of Poland's purchase of the FA-50 was not solely for combat, but rather the necessity to replace Poland's weapon system, which was previously composed solely of Soviet weapons, with Western weapons. The FA-50 was purchased with a dual purpose: as a trainer aircraft with a cockpit almost identical to the F-16, and as a air support aircraft for ground forces. Poland purchased the FA-50 as a trainer-cum-combat aircraft to quickly fill its arsenal with Western weapons, despite the aircraft's good performance, in order to facilitate a rapid transition to a Western-oriented weapon system. While Poland plans to purchase the high-end F-35, all new weapons require substantial time for delivery, deployment, and training of personnel before they can be operationally employed. The FA-50 is the only aircraft that can currently serve as a bridge during this process, being the sole combat-capable trainer that can be quickly deployed.
Furthermore, you have pointed out the weak armor of the K2 tank. However, due to the proliferation of drones and anti-tank weapons, even well-armored tanks such as the L2, M1, and Merkava have been destroyed in Ukraine and Palestine. The current need on the battlefield is not for heavily armored tanks, but for tanks with adequate weight armor and agile mobility. Accordingly, the United States is developing new, lightweight tank designs. Your statements about the protective capabilities of tanks are more relevant to the period before the Ukraine war. Additionally, the K2 tank's ammunition storage is isolated from the crew, and the design is such that in the event of a hit on the ammunition storage, the explosion is directed upwards, protecting the crew. Furthermore, the Polish military plans to deploy K2 in mountainous and swampy areas, and M1 tanks in areas with a lot of plains. The Polish military is not as foolish as you.I think you know nothing for morden war & weapon trends. lol

@@0o926 K2 was considered by FIVE countries - it lost in each of them for political reasons... When I read such nonsense, I don't really know why I am responding...
I'll give you a hint - Sensible countries UNIFY their military equipment. The stupid previous government in Poland led to a situation in which we have 5 types of tanks, no technical support - a logistical nightmare. And you know about MILITARY TRENDS??? Probably those in computer games... Poland will use K2 tanks in mountainous and swampy terrain... Have you ever been to Poland? I rather doubt it. You have no idea how this country is shaped and what the terrain conditions are like there. Mountainous and swampy terrain - that's why these tanks were sent to the 16th POMERANIAN MECHANIZED DIVISION - flat and even areas like a table, forests, plains, decent road infrastructure... I don't know where you live, but I assume that in Africa, where there are no roads, or in Korea, which gave us these two great inventions for fighting in the mountains (the FA-50 is also only useful in the mountains so that no one can see it)... Please don't write any more because every word is nonsense...
As for the FA-50 - explain to me how a plane without any air-to-air weapons can do anything on the battlefield?? How can an aircraft with an operational range of 250 km and only two pylons for sensible use for air-to-ground guided weapons be a support aircraft? Unless he flies with stupid bombs or unguided rockets... great support... That's what artillery is for...
It's the same with K2 and FA-50 - the previous government came up with a propaganda lie that it buys and orders tanks and planes in "PL" specifications that meet our requirements - and we got useless training planes - which we don't need - we have 16 M346 training planes integrated with the training system F-16 pilots and we train a dizzying number of SEVERAL fighter pilots every year. So why do we need another almost 50 training planes? The FA-50PL variant does not exist. For the last 3 years, KAI has not been able to integrate AiM-9X missiles with the FA-50 at the request of current users of these aircraft, let alone the AiM-120 we require? Maybe in another 10 years... but if we ordered the new F-16 block 70 on the day of ordering the FA-50, then at the time when we MAY receive the FA-50PL (2028), we would get the first REAL F-16 fighters. Only an idiot could buy something like this...
The K2 tank is also a product of politicians' propaganda - a tank that does not meet any conditions on the European battlefield. Well, unless it's fighting in the mountains... but I guess the Austrians and Swiss should buy it because they have mountains...
Both purchases are a waste of money. Politicians of the time certainly made money on it and Korea certainly opened its way to the European market. It's just a pity that it's at the expense of our armed forces.

    2. Diesel engine German license production instead of gas turbine
    3. German 120mm smooth gun under license production.
Because K1 was Korean 1st domestic tank, Koreans didn’t have the facility nor the specification design verification process. And this is where US Chrysler M1 design Manufacturer/consultant team got involved to recommend improvements and prove out the tank performance spec at US facilities.

The Korean weapon builder H-Rotem will develop those parts created in the US & Germany. Since the two nations don't like black panthers rising in weapon markets, which means weapon makers in the two nations don't want to share their weapon buyers with Korea, to be honest. Practically, Germany used to block Rotem's weapon export many times before because the MBTs adopted made-in-Germany core parts. Thus, the Korean weapon developer had to quit its exporting processes to a few potential customers. Nowadays, the weapon maker Rotem researched the main engine and transmission to dodge the US & Germany's blocking processes. And the result was positive. Korea exported the core parts to Turkiye for Altai tanks. Sooner or later, Rotem will not import those core machinery anymore to detour suppliers' indirect sanctions.
