Agreed. I've spent a lifetime in music and I think it's a field, like sports or the military (used to be) that is entirely performance based where NO ONE cares about anything other than whether you can perform and deliver.

I tell ya, "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem". Home Free with The Oak Ridge Boys and Jeffery East. Two groups, 40 years apart in age, plus a young up and coming singer in a LIVE performance. Each singer hits their spot on the harmonies without overlapping. Incredible precision AND power. Oh yeah, Austin has a few more years of experience in his voice too. He gets the solo. The reaction from the veteran Oaks is worth the price of admission alone.

Austin Brown (the high tenor) attended college on a full music scholarship. An interviewer noted that he'd been singing with his father's gospel quartet at 6 or 7 years old. He'd been in a couple of other groups, sung at Disneyland and met Home Free while singing on a cruise ship. Like all the others, he's a professional singer with a lot of years of work behind him.

I can definitely understand the territorial thing, but as an old white woman I have to say there is nothing more lovely than songs by The Platters. Please listen, if not react, to this old school group. They had 40 charting singles on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1955 and 1967. Twilight Time, Only You, My Prayer, and so many more. And they're STILL at it. I just saw a video made at the Hyatt Regency in Boston. They sound the same as ever. As for Home Free you HAVE to react to "Do You Hear What I Hear?". The best rendition of that song I've ever heard.

Try a fun Christmas one to see their fun personalities, Cold Hard Cash they did last Christmas. So many styles they do, just hop on the HF journey and we will be here with you! About Austin singing high 1st tenor, I'm a low alto and he can sing way higher than me. But I never had a very high range! Keep watching them and they all take turns on lead and all do it great! Very talented guys. Take care.

Austin Brown, the first tenor grew up in Georgia and followed his father around the south doing gospel singing. In high school he won a state championship as an overall soloist. He won a full ride scholarship to Oklahoma City University where he majored in music and theatrical production. He just turned 36 but has a lot of experience, not to mention talent.

You NEED to listen to their cover of Cam- Mayday......and what Will Streett said. There is a jaw drop moment at the beginning of Mayday. You have been warned. From Tipton, Ga., Austin Brown spent his childhood traveling all over the Southeast with his Father's gospel quartet. FYI- when I was a little girl in the 1960s, I got a transistor radio for Christmas one year. It was fantastic. I mostly listened to WSGN610 in Birmingham, Al. WSGN played Rock & Roll and they really didn't care who sang it, so my favorite songs were color blind and they were all fantastic. If it makes you feel better, Home Free claims they can't dance, so much so that when they won "The Sing Off", the show's choreographer left the show to work with them. Great reaction! Rock on!

At the end, Tim holds up a kitten dressed as a pirate that they were fostering. He said he cried like a baby when they had to give it up).

Austin, the "first tenor" was raised around the Southern Gospel circuit, since his dad was in a SG quartet. SG is quartet oriented and is famous for its deep basses, high tenors, and everyone's ability to hold a note forever. Yes, he's had training, but some of Austin's licks definitely come from his roots.

Even if you don't do a reaction, stop what you are doing and go watch their rendition of How Great Thou Art. It's the very best version of that song you have ever heard in your life, and I know you've heard it many times before, but you will agree.
It will touch your soul. Go, watch now! Love and blessings to you both!

Through this song I became aware of these talented guys. Home Free has the richest harmonies I've ever heard in a band. Each of the guys are phenomenal, but my favorite is Tim. Great reaction!

Always love your reactions ... when you react as you do to, for instance, Austin hitting that ridiculously high note, you just validate my feelings about it. And it's obvious you have some musical training. This was just a beautiful performance of a beautiful song. If this song doesn't give you chills here and there, you must be dead!

Austin's dad sang in a southern gospel group so he has been around music his whole life plus I think he's got a degree in music life all the others.

Well, our Home Free guys are not racial against anything or anyone.
They're just doing what they love & they're doing it very well. 😍
Check out "undivided" & "everybody walking this land". & listen to the message after the video.
This is one of many favorites of their Christmas songs. Their newest is "go tell it on the mountain", a collab with Texas Hill....its incredible! 🥰🥰

Respect to you for your blunt honesty about your personal feelings. We all have our feelings to get over, and cleaning up at home is how we solve this mess. You have a good heart.

Once you've moved past Christmas music I would suggest checking out the first solo video from Tim Foust, the bass. He's put out an all Acapella, all Tim, Doo Wop album and the first release is Come Go With Me.

OK, if you want to hear something really special you should check out home free's bohemian rhapsody! I saw them in concert live a few weeks ago and you can't tell any difference between their live performances and their videos. The thing I like most about them is that they are an extremely positive bunch of guys.

Austin is phenomenal. But you ain’t heard nothing yet in terms of male first tenors until you’ve heard Mitch in Pentatonix, another acapulco group. Listen to their versions of Hallelujah and Mary Did You Know (since it’s the holidays), the talent and harmonies will blow your mind. Both Home Free and Pentatonix are 10 of the most talented vocal artists you’ll ever hear. For Home Free listen to the Butt Remix next 😁. Just subscribed so I can go on this ride with you! Love your reactions!

My husband is a gospel singer. He is technically a baritone but his vocal range is from bass to 2nd tenor and lead.
