Around two or years before the end of their contract their agency, Source Music was acquired by Hybe for managing a new group that Bang PD had in mind. They started to be promoted as the first female group of Hybe and as the female face of Hybe but even if they had solid sales they were nothing like the mega sales of today groups of Hybe. Still Korea loved them. Their last album and main song even called the attention of America and Grammy museum called them because they were signaled as a promise group . Sudendly they were informed by SoMu that there was not a chance for they to have their contract renewed one month befor the end of the same when it was some kind of non verbal agreement that they will keep working together because the girls still had a lot of things and activities planned after the date SoMu signaled as the end of the group. Many say that Gfriend was only generating loses but the truth is that no one knows really what happened but all the mess between Hybe and the ex-ceo of Ador points she was one of the indirect reasons behind of the disbandment of Gfriend. Yuju, Yerin and Sowon went for their own path, it is said no agency could take the six in, except maybe one of the big 3, that must give you an idea of how huge they were then. BPM accepted SinB, Eunha and Umji that choosed to work together. Yuju has two albums as soloist but even if she is an amazing singer has not managed to gain a lot of fans by herself. The same happened to Yerin. Sowon tried actting but she has not got a lot of success either, she is the weakest vocalist of the six.
