    I just wanted to say I could sit here and listen to Dram for hours. the man clearly knows what he is talking about and is passionate about his work! I am so happy i found this game and my friends and I are having a blast gunning down some alien bugs and gathering crystals. I hope to see more interviews from Dram but also don't want to get in the way of the mans work. He is a true gammer making a game and I love that.

    The first time I saw an exchange of gunfire in this game, my jaw hit the floor! Visible ricochets from valley to valley at night - with a huge thunderstorm. Utterly incredible!

    Dram sound like thoses guy making BS too good to be truth promises, except you can actually dl the game and play to everything he just said.
    Its amazing.

    Thanks for the interview. Glad the game is physics based and has realistic graphics.
    Also, very interesting to hear what advanced techniques went into the engine. The way colliding works, really adds to the emersion.

    I really like your game , and for this I want to offer a few ideas :1. I see that you are going to add flying equipment, I like this idea, but flying units are not suitable for bugs. I would add artillery , anti - aircraft bugs and a huge boss bug to them . 2. I advise you to make flying equipment expensive or study it, because flying equipment will be the most effective. 3. For people, I would add a new technique like a HUGE armored train on gravel engines on which there will be a lot of automatic turrets and it is possible to transport not only soldiers but also equipment. Just imagine such a situation : your base is being attacked and you called a train , when it arrived all the troops board it and at the last moment leave from a huge army of beetles to another base .Naturally, they can be controlled by an ordinary player .
    PS. I'm sorry if you didn't understand something or there are errors in the text, I just use translators because I don't know English

    I love the idea and a lot of the implementation but as far as combining RTS and FPS I don't think you've really done it yet. I think anyone coming from games like Starcraft or Age of Empires will be frustrated by how little control and information they have to work with playing the game in its current state. I really hope it makes it the rest of the way there

    I think a key disagreement is the logistics stuff. The problem is if all you have to do as a first person player is press w and the click the mouse to shoot, it's arcade at best. The detail in arma, like an anti material rifle taking the tire off an apc or a vehicle with a fuel leak needing to be patched up, this gives players something to do, a task too small for the cammander sure but not for the grunts. Similarly, the endless respawn and teleport robs all tension, just being able to do simple things like revive or heal helps build teamwork. Arma mods that get it wrong have zero sense of urgency because none of the logistics matter. It would be cool to for example have ammo supplies at the new outposts, or the ability to fly a drone out to drop ammo. I think if you checked out what made battlefield 2142 such a great game, you could definitely find some inspiration. Just another note on ammunition, aliens being erratic or using hit and run tactics designed to deplete enemy ammo seems like a lot more fun than the current way things go. And again lessons from arma, heavy scout vehicles all the way up to tanks carry a lot of ammo, its usually like after 30-60 minutes you might start to run dry on machine gun or tank rounds. I know with you being part of bohemia you want to differentiate your baby from arma, but what keeps people in fucking love with arma, what it gets right, there are lessons there for the fps side. Also, stuff like wrecks remaining and burning for a while, that is one of the most atmospheric elements in arma, silica has this beautiful map that never seem to be too dotted with pillars of black smoke. Also like with arma, could just have a hardcore mode with more detail, and a basic mode that's more geared towards streamlined play/rts.

    Really hope he, or his team, if he got one by now, will at some point remove the performance problems. That is by far the biggest long-term play killer for this game.

    -Winged Crabs with short range flight ability to latch onto aircraft
    -a spawner alien that can generate Crabs on the front lines
    -Sergeant unit for humans
    -Mech suit for humans with a sword and sidearm, maybe a flame thrower on thr left arm, maybe short range flight and a ground pound ability (close quarter unit)
    -Flame thrower soldier
    -Flame Thrower Tank
    -alien crab spawner building that spawns crabs controlled by ai that makes cost free units that automatically seek enemies
    -a toggle for selected units to be ai controlled, useful for scouts and light armored buggy's
    Idk just some ideas I have

      -A transport tank like the siege tank with turrets (like an elephant from halo) that acts as a spawn zone, maybe allows spawning of scouts and rifleman similar to something that could be added for aliens for crabs, horned or winged
      -motorcylcle scout for humans
      -shields for harvesters since aliens get specialize in close combat getting under those shields, also adds protection and reaction time from enemies humans attacking
      -homebase shield since it is very vital should have more protection to prevent it being sniped by enemies

      -Engineer for humans, that can build towers, bunkers, barbed wire or something that can hinder alien movement, maybe they can upgrade buildings fortify them and most importantly repair them
      -buildable walls, to provide cover for buildings, and slots in the middle of the walls for soldiers to shoot through, would add cinematic combat when aliens climb over

      Slow moving horned beetle looking or even lady bug like alien units that shoot projectiles that move the speed of a railgun tanks mortal but 1/4 the damage, would be a good counter to tanks since they are a harder object to target, especially in a group wouldn't do significant damage on their own, infantry could be a good counter but the flying alien unit can provide the distraction needed for ground units to close the gap and attack(shockwave tank would be a great counter because the wide attack radius)

      Side note of bugs, glitches, I have encountered
      -lowering graphics settings also lowers the resolution of the controls page making it unreadable, also blurs the mini-map a bit
      -ai cannot multi task or take advantage of having more than one of the same building, (would be ideal for alien controlled ai)
      -ai only makes 2 harvesters and will not make more of one is destroyed, this could be fixed by adding a build option at the refinery, maybe for half the cost of a refinery to make 1 harvester tired to that building, could also make it free if there are no active harvesters for the faction but have to add a check to see if any refinerys are being built to prevent a glitch
      -not a glitch but adding a combat roll to human soldiers could help them dodge crab pounces and add more dynamic combat
      -harvesters get stuck way too easily

    i feel this game needs long term progression something like planetside 2s endless flat leveling system with skill trees & hero units i can lvl up & make loadouts for. & im sorry im human i need the feeling of growth & i want to take that growth with me frome game to game... & its interesting that u brought up WC3 because as a kid i spent like 4 years gutting and modding that game i made 1 of the first moba/RTS/RPG/ hybrids it was called (Horns & Halos) the problem was it had to much customs data it took like a howr+ just to DL.:(. but i learned a lot:)

      Heya! Dram here, so Filip was speaking english but the mic had some issues which we found out after, so it had to be slightly processed and cleaned up, leading to the audio like that. As for me, my native language is both English and Czech :D Grew up in Australia, hence the accent.

      @@bukelos2804 to be honest, I had some problems understanding him, and it's full English interview so yes I would expect him to talk English. Although my hypothesis came out as false according to Dram himself, your passive aggressivenes really wasn't necessary, as I was just asking for a reason for doing something and definitely not complaining.

      @@sarlex0 well, its on you if you take it as passive agressive. There were no swear words and no ad hominem attacks and you couldn't see my face obviously in my reply. I didn't have any problems understanding the guy, even when my first language isn't English, although there was a robotic voice from the guy kinda, which could be taken simply as Czech accent, which could be sometimes robotic. Anyway then it was explained by the guy as mic issues, so it's all water under the bridge now.

    u may want to make the AI copy the tech/build progression of the leader on the map so if your new u wont get crushed or if your a vet its not to EZ ... lol & the AI needs to attack in waves because going in single file is not a winning strategy in any shooter lol
