I love the hardware and I wanted to buy one but the fact that the app is membership based totally demotivated me. I'd like to pay a one off fee and then pay occasionally to upgrade lessons/songs if I need. The subscription model is the blocker for me. And I've actually written emails to them on the topic
Good to know! Just discovered that roli exists and this is the 2nd video i watched about it. Learning that this is membership based just ended my research at this point.
I almost bought one, then I read this comment. Subscriptions are out of control, I’ll never buy a new product if it’s subscription based. What a shame.
I wanted to buy one years ago but was put off by the reviews saying the piano keys don't travel too far down and the short keys are very hard to press if your finger is reaching the top of the key. Could you share some insight on how easy the keys are to press on the upgraded version?
I'd love to use this with our care home residents-it would help keep their dexterity and our residents living with dementia would really respond tk the ease of use. Interesting fact: I'm scared of baked beans! Happy holidays Jon 🎉
I want to learn Bliss by MUSE ❤ I was considering buying one of these keyboards, but the fact that the app is subscription based made me reconsider. I wish there was a one time payment option.
I got the Lumi Keys and Seaboard Rise 2 a few weeks ago and they are amazing The first song I would probably learn is the theme song to Wizard101 A fun fact about me is that I have ADHD and Charlie Puth once responded to a comment I made about Justin Bieber back in 2022 lol I’ve been watching your channel since 2009, back when I was 8 years old and your name was still Jon4Lakers, I’m a really big fan 🙂
Should include in the video that the app isn't free. $120/year or $15/month. They offer money back within 30 days if you don't like it. Costs more for a family plan is you want up to 5 people. "Membership gives access to all 1,000+ songs, 300+ lessons, 450+ exercises, and two arcade games (with more than 150 levels in total)."
No idea what I'd learn to play first. The interesting thing for me would be whether or not it changes how I listen to music - I'm an amateur drummer and it's definitely created a bit of a cognitive shift for me when I listen to music as I remember when I first got into the drums as a kid, it was as if the drums became more present in songs. I'd hope this has weighted keys. I recently learned that there is a difference between electric keyboards which are intended to make funky noises and those meant to imitate a traditional piano. Hopefully it is the latter here as it was quite a shift learning to play on acoustic drum kits for me as somebody who learned on electric kits to start with, I think that practicing on something which doesn't replicate the real thing very well is a bit counterproductive.
Thanks for the comment and interest in the Piano M. It doesn't have weighted keys, I'm afraid. It's a tool to teach you the basics of piano in an enjoyable and accessible way!
I always wanted to learn how to play piano. I always say I’m too old but this looks like a good way to start without paying for expensive lessons. Thank you for the giveaway and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Lets get the classic Y.Rock going ! but just noticed the hidden down at the bottom 120/180 bucks a year to access the software :( Nearly the price of the hardware.
Nope - not to begin with! You can start learning with one hand, and then, as your skills develop, you can get another and begin learning with two hands 🙌
@@WeAreROLI Do all of the Melodies or chord progressions when playing them separately (1 handed) in the songs provided require only 25 keys without switching octaves whilst playing?

Are Netflix customers hostile to an entertainment landscape they pay a fair price for? I asked in 2006.
@@JaspRemains-v7c No comparison, to be honest. Netflix brings every month tons of new content.
