Creep

The last type of failure we will talk about is creep. Creep is when a material continues to elongate even when the stress applied to it does not change. This happens when the temperature of the material is roughly a 1/3 of the melting temperature. We want to avoid this as this deformation is not reversible and will always lead to failure if allowed to continue.
