I'm glad you understand the high value of a child having fun on the instrument. It's also important for children to play with friends, go outside, visit museums, read, do well in their school work and accept responsibilities at home such as chores. We want musical children to grow up well rounded and ready to meet the world!
As an adult cello student, dedication and practice bring joy and progress. Hard work trumps talent! And having fun and joy is important. Just look at Sophia’s smile on stage!

I remember seeing this video. I always wondered if I could get there someday.
i played double Vivaldi concerto for about 2 years when i was 9 and 10. We got an offer to play with big orchestra but covid cancelled our plans. it was a pretty fun concerto. played all 3 movements
oh boy!
I started violin at 4, it took a year to do all the Suzuki variations of twinkle twinkle. To be fair I think my lesson was 15 minutes.
