Also can you just buy a 10mm bolt from the hardware store. Mine doesn't ha e one. I didn't even know that was a dipstick until I was curious. Ot was very lo g and had Trans oil on it. Wow, who knew! Maybe just me. Anyway
@@evelinagarcia7430 You don't need to have the engine running while adding transmission fluid, just to get an accurate reading when you check it. Yes, any bolt with the same size and thread pitch as the hole location should work.
@@manuelz2305 The accurate reading is in the cold zone when the tranny is cold and in the hot zone when the tranny has been warmed up to operating temperature.
Hello. when i change gear from R to D, sometimes it jerks when driving fast. changing from R to D takes about 1.5 seconds. Is it normal? if i wait 1-2 seconds it is perfect. do these cars have it? that you have to wait a while from back R to D? Thanks
In general, it is always good to wait a few seconds when switching gears to allow the transmission gears to seat properly. However, it is always possible that your fluid is nearing the end of its life and it is causing it to be sluggish. You can always take a sample and send it into the lab. They will tell you if it is time to change it. www.amsoil.com/p/oai-oil-sample-value-kit-kit14/?zo=10458
You are correct that I misspoke and called the Socket and Ratchet a "wrench". However, you are incorrect in that the official term for "socket" is "socket wrench" as per Small Engines: Operation and Service, Copyright 1981 (ISBN: 9780826900043). By definition, a "wrench" is used to "loosen or tighten, nuts and bolts" thus a "socket" is a "socket wrench."
nonsense * do you just change the oil? * what do you think there is a filter and magnets in the gearbox ?! for beauty? you don't know what to do there and you advise nonsense for people
This video is how to check and top off transmission fluid, not change the transmission fluid. If you are looking for directions how to change your transmission fluid, you will not find it in this video...keep surfing RUclips.
The step by step with the visuals was perfect. Thanks for tye help.
Thanks for the comment. Good luck servicing your vehicle.
Ty, idk why it was so hard to find videos with a close up of the dipstick
I guess I figured it would be important to show a close-up of the dipstick.
Great video, straight to the point!!
Thank you for the comment. Good luck with your service.
I hope you're still here answering questions. I have one. Does the engine stay on while filling the Trans fluid? Thanks

Thank you VERY much for sharing this with us beginners.
Glad I could help.
What I wanted to know is should the oil level be below xxxx marks or higher side of xxxx mark?
The oil level should be somewhere within the xxxx marks. I prefer to have my oil level on the higher side of the xxxx marks.
So was yours at the low level did you add anything
This vehicle was in the proper range. None was added.
So where does the oil level have to be at ?
Oil level on a cold engine should be within the cold range...on a hot engine should be in the hot range.
Engine running (or idle) , but transmission in N neutral or P parking ?
I typically have the engine in park when I am checking this, but my driveway is on a slope and it will roll away.
