- The Victorian façade of Amanda Levete’s north London home hides the cavernous expanse of a former dress factory. Beginning her career working under celebrated modernist architect Richard Rogers, Levete made her mark at iconic design practice Future Systems, founded by her and her then husband, the late Jan Kaplický. In 2009 Levete set up her own studio, AL_A, which has since won commissions including an extension at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum and a mosque for Abu Dhabi’s future World Trade Center. This is likely my favourite series online. Profoundly insightful to look at the most intimate of spaces for most people; the home. I absolutely love watching these, completely inspiring from the content, editing, and direction.

Pure perfection. Natural light, calmness, colour minimalism, smoothness.
Yeah I'd get anxiety in that house lol. Feels a mix between a convention centre and a hospital.
I agree...graphically perfect and yet there is no warmth to it
bit too sterile right? the blue in the bathroom is almost the same colour as a nurses uniform
One compelling aspect is that the “public space” is carved out of a basement and yet is light filled.
that entryway reveal was first time i've ever said "wow" out loud during an architecture/house video. this is amazing

NOWNESS brings intimacy to me during Covid-19 isolation. Thank you. Love the front entrance, the large square window rather than the ubiquitous half circle. It's wide and black. You know something is special & unique behind that door.

I felt disoriented when I saw the ground /grass at the upper window.
So wish to see more detailed tour of this house. Those curves are soothing yet accentuate the space so so so well. The balance created is really impressive..and sure the colour palette of the private space is to fall in love with! 👍🏻👌🏻
I do not see anything magical in this house!
oh, there is something about that bathroom that makes me nervous. It's like a box or cubical, dull and sad; it feels suffocating.
Yeah, it looks like it could be in a dove commercial and I think subconsciously we are distancing ourselves to ads as they are a symbolic means of trying to sell you something. The color is also so instant and in your face from the rest of the color pallet in the home.

77777aol exactly! !! Being an engineer myself ,in the process of designing my own house I find myself comfortable only in minimal surrounding. It's a relief to come home to simple lines .Decompresses stress and gives room to all the images in your head to breathe . I think that for some creative people ,they need simplicity outside their head because there just so much going on inside it...
