Fun fact I found this setting when ancient and Anubis came out and sent Valve an email full of screenshots and why it’s helpful for players to fix the “too bright” issue. I never posted it publicly and it’s kind of sad my email apparently fell on deaf ears as it’s just now coming out for others to use. I’m afraid they’re dealing with a game and so many changes they did not anticipate so many issues arising at once, might take longer than I thought for a full release ☹️

Hey man I noticed you had the same console bug I had go to this file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\\730\local\cfg\cs2_machine_convars.vcfg ctrl+f and search panorama_console_position_and_size on the right of the convar, change the value between the quotes to: 20.00|20.00|200.00|200.00 restart cs2 and you should be able to resize it back to normal. if it happens again do the same thing Also try verifying the game files before

you can get a program called vibrancegui that changes the digital vibrance for specific games, so you could set your vibrance way up for cs2 and be able to alt tab to normal digital vibrance
The game is never overlybright people who complain about this just have gamer monitors that are not calibrated by their manufacture because they dont care

Nothing helps and it just doesn't feel fun to tinker around settings to be able to look your screen. Guess I'm too old for the game now. Passinng of the torch to younger eyes.

hey bro, the console being gone is a bug, if u want to fix it do this: go to this file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(ursteam)\730\local\cfg\cs2_machine_convars then edit the file and use ctrl + f to find panorama_console. once u do change the value behind it to this: "25.88|56.25|480.38|443.25" should be fixed now
CSGO's gamma value was dialed in at 2.01-something. CS2 uses a gamma value of 2.2 for the express purpose of linearizing color for sRGB screens. Doing any other value is not physically accurate.

I prefer the brighter visuals personally but its very cool people who prefer the game to be darker to have the option to change it if they want.

the current problem with cs2 is that the color black are greyed out. the contrast is off to make it more visible.

Dont hit save settings just drag the brightness bar to where ya want and exit out the menu.

when you change the value of fullscreen_gamma the ingame brightness just gets changed. its just the same as adjusting the brightness

Even my hud looks washed out in extreme cases
some player just use the black outline in order to see better. But it screws with your aim because not everyone likes thick crosshair

If you want it brighter set r_fullscreen_gamma 1.8 or such. The lower value is be brighter. The higher is darker.
