At the end of the day. Publishing should be given to the artist. Period. They are the creators of the sound, and most of them have their own studios and are producers/singers/songwriters & musicians. I still never understood why these record companies want these huge large investments. Especially if the loan that their giving these artists is lower than what they wanting back. Smh
Your right. But unfortunately the major labels have to push the records, promote the records and the artist. Labels should be more upfront and honest with artists and make publishing deals up front. Instead of later down the line.

Even though I don't care for a lot of these new artist, I'm glad to see them getting their money, I was shocked to find out a lot of the rappers I grew up listening to in the late 80s and 90s were broke after selling millions of records, and how a lot of these executives ripped them off
