- Dave shows us a new set of 4s he's been working on with the Petzl Twin Release and Petzl Spin L2 pulleys. A set of 4s is essential on the tree care job site to be prepared for the eventuality of needing to lift a load with mechanical advantage. Aerial rescue is just one use where a set of 4s is key for lifting an injured climber.
You can check out the Petzl Twin Release on WesSpur's site :

Wow! What an amazing setup. Petzl has been coming out with some exceptional products over the last couple of years. I have the L1D pulley with the same ratchet sheave. It is by far my favorite pulley for light rigging. They could aply this technolog to a larger capacity block, but I don't think it would handle shock loads from negative rigging.
It's a slick setup, but it's 600$ for that pair of pulleys 😬. I actually do need to build a set of 4s... but I was leaning towards getting 2 of the Camp Janus Pulleys. Just because they're on the cheaper side, (I'm just starting out), and I would mainly be using them to tighten up a speed line/rigging line.
WesSpur sells a basic set of 4s for about 100.00$, just add a prusik to capture the load, and you have a great starter set. Jim

Hey there, I will pass your question on to Dave.
Dave's response: "I have. It is heavy, big and wears clutches out fast. Inferior to the Zigzag. "
