  • In this segment, we derive and discuss the fact that for a reversible process (not cycle), the entropy change is equal to the integral of differential heat transfer by the temperature. We also show that for an irreversible process (not cycle), the entropy change is GREATER than the integral of differential heat transfer by the temperature. We also introduced the generated entropy term to make the inequality equality for an irreversible process. We also showed that entropy (which is disorganization and randomness) always increases for the universe. We also solve an example problem where we show even though the entropy in the process decreases, the entropy of the universe increases.
