- I have been wearing the Zipper Orvis Pro waders for a while now and thought I would share my thoughts on them and also give you an update on my old non-zipper ones too.
I treat my gear pretty rough and use it more than most so I get to see how stuff holds up...or not! Maybe you will find it useful if you are looking at buying some new ones.

Welcome to the zipper fishing club. I have been a big fan of the guy who invented the waterproof zipper for many years[you will appreciate that more and more the older you get]. Cheers.
Yup love these, after my my Simms g4s eventually wore out, swapped to these zero regrets.
Super Helpful!
Great video. I am in the process of buying a pair of Orvis Pro Waders need to test myself as they say but do look great. I found on old waders i was able to still do a leak (forgive the pun, never mention the word leak with waders lol) on the standard ones and with my heavy coat on, trick is to use the weight of your heavy coat when you undue/unclip the shoulder straps (gently) to hold the buckle without it going down your back, done this for years and i do it quite easily, i also wear tracksuit bottoms underneath, me and zips (even oiled) just don't get on lol
I just bought the Simms G4 Pro and their wading pants. Both also very good.
In lockdown, oh no!! That sucks but glad you all are on top of safety first. Here in America, well, hmmm…….. On your recommendation got myself a monomaster and love it! Dig the Friday Fillers too. Have a fab weekend!

Yeah hopefully we can stamp this out pretty quick! Great that you got yourself a monomaster…good on you.
Have a great wknd🙂
Long time wearer of Simms guide series waders. Switched to these after my G4Z failed for the 2nd time in a year and absolutely no regrets. Love the orvis pro zips. They're great.
That’s good to hear man🤙
Great video I really need to invest in some or is gear
I agree to zip waders. I have a pair, it’s the best
Your videos have inspired me to follow my dreams thanks man for everything and maybe one day I'll fly over for a trip
So cool to hear man!!! Get after it son👊
@@TrippinOnTrout bro I caught a bat tonight best day ever seven on the dry and a bat to top it off right at dark haha
These might just be my next waders, definitely could do with the knee pads and the zip looks mint, especially post coffee 😎
Mate, you would enjoy these for sure!
You will never go back if you do decide to do it!
Love all the videos bro! As we are back in lockdown could you do a video explaining tipped and how the ratings work e.g 1x, 2x, 3x….. Cheers
I will put it in the list mate!
Proper waders, thank mate
So glad u did this video I been in market for new waders I have Simms know only got 2 seasons out and both knees leak
@Fly gal I’m not even going to bother going to be those Orvis pro zip or Patagonia has amazing ones but very expensive
Customer service goes a looooooong way aye!!
@@TrippinOnTrout sure does 👍🏻
Ive had my Simms for decades but if I get new waders for some reason, these will be my first choice.
Nice one bro, be Interesting to see how you like them.
Nice presente maaaate, n yep will av' to hoko e tahi peera, but waist high..'fish frm da 'shallows'..don't wanna get wet..too much bak-n-da-day..fishin' n eellin'..informative n inspirational..nice vid 👍Kia ora 🎣🎣😎🤙✌️👍
Thanks bro!! Good to see you on here as usual!👊
knee pads are essential when praying to the fish gods at the start of the day lol
Great video! What size did you get? You look about my build. I’m about to order but like real life fit guides instead of what the manufacturer puts out! I’m 6’1” 205lbs
I’m about 5’8 and 180lbs and am rocking am medium of that helps
Who would of thought? The official Pee Wader! What is next? I actually like the idea. No more hours and hours of holding it because of the hassle with the no zip? I get the point!
Dude I know that struggle all too well😆
Those days are gone and it’s such a relief (literally!!)
here's what's next, a zipper at the back !🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice, would you not consider some waist waders for that "in between" period as opposed to rolling down full length waders?
I actually really like the ideas of waist waders but only for certain places where I know for sure I won’t be doing any deep wading . A lot of times, I will come across the odd crossing that is over waist deep and then it’s handy to be able to pull them up to you chest.
I have the Patagonia convertible waders. They do a great job of dropping down for waist high and back. I wish they had a zipper
but hows the warranty??
Getting ready to order these..I love to fold down my waders on the hot summer days..Is this still possible with the zipper waders as long as you have that belt on around the waist..I guess it would still be possible to tuck them in..Whats your thoughts on this thanks
I would say it would be pretty uncomfortable to try and roll them down and might even affect the zipper eventually 🤷♂️
Thank you for your time..I placed my order and got the orvis pros with the zipper..
I guess being sponsored by orvis you have to do vids like this.for 800 quid they would want to be good waders.out of my budget but thanks for sharing..looking forward to your next fishing vid.great channel
I don’t HAVE to do anything bro, I just get a lot of people Interested in the gear I use that’s all.
Information is free and I’m happy to put it out there and then people can make their own minds up. I won’t say anything is good unless I actually think it is.
Def expensive and after 30 odd years of fishing, it’s the first time I’ve actually used top end waders so I get where u are coming from.
Appreciate you watching and supporting what I do🤙
@@TrippinOnTrout i suppose for those loaded 800 quid waders is the way to go...my opinion is that all waders leak and mabey you will get more wear out of the top range waders by an extra season or 2 before they need repair.which if I was to spend 800 on waders I'd want them to never leak for the price .as if you pay 800 for a top of the range rod you expect it to last your own lifetime which alot of them do.this is not a dig at you or anyone that buys these waders just my opinion about the price of them for what your getting for ur money
Yeah I hear you. I usually go through a pair of waders a year no matter what so if these last me more than two seasons (which I think they will) then I’m No worse off and get to enjoy better waders.
But that said, I understand where you are coming from and that’s why it’s great that there are cheaper options out there too🤙
If I had it my way, it would be warm
Enough all year round to wet wade and I would never have to wear the damn things!
@@TrippinOnTrout be great to wet wade year round..here I'm ireland you would freeze your bollix off wet wading any time of the year.looking forward to your next installment.tight lines
What size are yours?
Medium
Zippers are $698.00 US. That’s a good bit of coin.
Yeah they ain’t cheap but like with most gear, you seem to get what you pay for🤷♂️
just don't forget to zipp them back up after you piss been wearing them for years trust me you will forget. great review thanks
Duly noted!
I'll keep my money and go in my shorts.
You don't do much winter trout fishing I presume
“Go in my shorts”….
@@troutmanoutdoors2332 It's illegal. So no.
@@ddeboy002 it’s not illegal to go in your shorts. It may affect your social life, however.
Are your Orvis Pro waders still holding up?
Yeah bro, still going strong 💪
Nice! Both the non-zip and zip?
Waders causing pee-ing issues?? Welcome to my world. The big A$$ zipper isn't helpful for us hahahaha. I still HATE waders.. just hate. But yeah, these seem really nice.
