Believe that “leaf blower” is actually to dry the track after rain is what our local track does
Yes it has holes for the exhaust to heat the air.
It's use to blow off "speedy dry" after accidents that picks up fluids from the track surface
I was wondering why the fan had holes on the down draft side for the exhaust to enter. Makes sense now .

Probably not even considering it anymore. When is the last time they even mentioned mountain dew? I could see just a regular billboard or sign but I don't think any huge sponsorship is on the books. Just not needed . If there is one thing I know it's that they need no help in the marketing/branding dept so whatever does happen is in the best interest of The channel and the fans. This place is going to turn into multiple shops. I think of it almost like a hollywood set but for auto youtubers to come get video and shaninigans. An addition of a road course would be even sweeter and could also be used for drifting. I see it becoming more of Rob Dyrdek style where it started out him building a brand and then became more of incubating other brands and getting a piece. Only they will continue to do own videos for a very time. Just my .02.

Cleetus let’s talk about this empty kitchen you’ve got there. I spent over a decade in a commercial kitchen with several years as a kitchen manager. If that kitchen has a view of the track, I’m down to come make some good eats happen. I’ll run a simple menu with a heavy focus on food quality, execution and lots of bacon. Keep it simple and keep it delicious and you’ll pump out good food every time. Burgers dogs wraps wings salads fries but think above the typical quality threshold for a track like this. I’m gonna treat it like a real kitchen and not a concessions stand. People will rave about the entertainment AND the food. Oh and for when you have a private night with friend is when the high end foods come out... steak and chicken dinners from my grill are not run of the mill. Hire me, spoil your people

The blower cart should be a "display stand" for sponsors engines, they got a new build they wanna show off, drop it on, adjust length, run it around the track. It could be completely modular.

It wasn't a cheap deal even back in the day. I was only a year old at that point but all the racing we did at that track and BMP they always had him maintain it til he passed. I raced at that track for years. Desoto is bred into us. Raced pure stocks strictly stocks bombers street stocks cowboy Cadillacs and even had a late model or 2.

We had a similar blower at a local track (that has been closed for years now) and we used to run the transmission in top gear with the motor around 2500 rpm and I swear it blew far, far more than this does. It would clear a 15-20 foot swath of pavement and clear it fast.
Was the transmission only in 1st gear or something? What rpm is that blower rated for?
It didn't seem like the trans was shifting to me. I wouldn't be surprised if it was stuck in 1st, really common for the governor to get gummed up. The 700r4s run off of a TV cable from the throttle - might be worth it for them to add a secondary cable to control the line pressure (albeit make sure its set correctly or it can grenade the trans). I had the same issue with the 700r4 in my 3rd gen Trans Am.
Yeah, stuck in 1st gear. The fan sound should get so loud you can't hear the engine.

Better find out the RPM rating for that fan. Here where I work we use that type of fan for exhaust vent. They will granade. Be careful

Yeah, agreed. I would imagine there's some sort of a governor in place for that particular reason, but maybe not and who knows whether it's working if so?
Also should have a grease fitting on the axle bearing for the blower cage, it'll need greased pretty regularly.

You might want to consider installing the signs like they do billboards - they use ratchet straps to pull them tight. It keeps the wind from getting behind them and ripping them apart too soon. If you build the new frames out of decent round tube steel, you don't even need a plywood backing.

Been to this track several times and love FLA racing in the winter. By far my favorite content bringing a short track back to life. With Punta Gorda gone this project is even more important. Thank you for your efforts!!!

You guy’s need to build another one of those blower with Jeffery the Jet Engine like we have here in Ohio at the Summit Drag Racing Track down the road from me they use it to clean and Dry the track.....Heat + High velocity wind = Clean Dry Track for the next race. 🤘🏻🤘🏻😜
That’s one of the best parts of the Halloween classics, when the heat of the jet dryer comes by lol.
IMS uses a couple of helicopter turbines mounted in the bed of a silverado to dry the track. Pretty wild to hear turbine scream coming from a couple silverados going 5mph around the oval.

The leaf blower trailer is pretty cool, and all, but is it possible that you all might call on one or more of your many engineering and fabricating friends, to design a build for a dedicated truck, to carry out and maybe even elaborate on the functions of the blower trailer?
I'm having a vision of a truck that features a leaf blower function and a vacuum and mulching system built into it.
I don't know if it's an idea that would be of interest to you guys, but my mind got going on it, and I'm thinking how cool it would be to see you all pick up this idea, or some variant of it, and run with it!
