I am a born Canadian, a lifetime Westerner, and I lived in Tofino for a year. You pronounced it just fine, and did a great show on the area. All that mud is caused by the almost non-stop rain ! One word of caution about Canadians ( or maybe everyone in the World) is that they sometimes make something out of nothing, like minor pronounciations. Some of them can get a little neurotic about minor issues. I found your presentation of our part of the world to be excellent.
Locals call Tofino Tuff (city) and Ucluelet ( You-clue-let) Ukee (youkey). South Wickaninnish beach, plane crash AND Florencio are quite a hike, way to go. Its always THAT MUDDY lol. It’s pronounced Nuu-chal-nuth. Yaaay TACOFINO, The others don’t taste at all the same or have the same vibe. Would have loved to share any time with you two while you were here ❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦
No kidding, my list keeps growing w each episode they put out lol. Thank you both for always sharing your journey w us. You truly find some get places to see and the food goodness lol
Kudos to Adam for taking on the best surf beach in Canada. We cheered when you stood up. What an amazing place with the beach, the mountains, and the food. Thanks for sharing.
You two are driving me nuts! You keep adding places to go on my bucket list. Been to Victoria and saw the multitude of islands traveling from Victoria to Vancouver and loved it. But clearly I have missed the real gem of that area. Can't wait to visit Tofino and Tacofino. Great video!
What a beautiful area! My only experience with Vancouver Island is Victoria, and now you've given me a strong desire to return and explore more of the island. Also, while I've made a similar comment at least once or twice previously, I continue to be so very impressed by your editing. Until somebody has edited a video themselves they don't realize how time-consuming it can be. The quick cuts between landscape shots, "talking head" shots, map overlays, glimpses of signs, etc., not to mention between the footage filmed from different cameras, adds such a dynamic flow to your videos. You make it seem so seamless, but the skill and sheer amount of time you put into the editing really sets your channel apart!
Thank you so much, Michael! Your comments truly mean a lot to us. It is a lot of work, but we’re glad it gets recognized. Our number one goal is to be helpful and present it in the best way can. Thanks a ton again, Michael! This really brightened our week!

You guys are so adorably cute together. My husband and I love watching your videos…there are very informative and just a joy to watch!! You guys keep being y’all and safe travels.
I can’t even imagine trying to surf. My hat’s off to you. My balance is terrible. Wasn’t always bad, and it was humbling a few years back hiking and trying to cross a creek. A very tiny, sweet child noticed me struggling, walked out into the water, and helped me across, lol.
Our long awaited trip to Vancouver Island is finally coming close! We are watching all of these videos again and taking notes. We even changed our itinerary a bit to include the Tofino coast because of this video! Toki Doki here we come. Thx for all the great videos. Have fun in Vliet Nam!
There was some wicked mud in this video!! Crispy cheese oh ya!!!! What a beautiful day! That water has to be soooo cold!!!! Kona Cam so cool and your music is fantastic! I think the surf board was bad, not Adam😉. I am laughing out loud over the stickle😄! Japanese food looks so fab!!!! Beautifull place and it all looks like fun to me! Keep on cruising up the coast and perfecting those dance moves!!!
We’re in Tofino now and rewatched your video. So glad we did as we’d forgotten about the plane wreck. You’ll be pleased to know there are planks over the muddy bits now and it’s a super easy walk!
That airplane wreckage was super eerie! It reminded me of the Kinzua Bridge mangled wreckage in Mount Jewett Pennsylvania! Did you ever see that bear? We just got back from Yosemite and Sequoia and had the pleasure of watching a mama and her cub in Crescent Meadow! It was glorious to watch!
It was a bit eerie! We had plans to visit the Kinzua Bridge last year, but on the way Kona got randomly really sick and we had to detour to take her to the vet. Hopefully we can get back there to see it! Wow that sounds like an awesome experience! How cool!
Tofino is gorgeous! I hope I can see this beautiful island one day and all it has to offer! That burrito and pizza looked amazing! 😋 Keep traveling safe! 😘❤️❤️❤️🐶🥰
New followers from South Carolina. We dream of doing what y'all are doing. I am working on my professional counseling license so I can do telehealth from anywhere JUST SO we can travel/work. Love watching you guys; you do a great job of showing the scenery and doing food reviews. Our favorite things to do are seeing new places and trying all the fooooood.
Awesome! We hope you can do it! There’s lots of ways to travel and work! That’s great you have an option with your career and skill set Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching! Good luck and we hope you can get on the road soon!
First time surfer, stands up and rides on second attempt...then ends up surfing in Canada's most famous surf area hahaa Adam freaking crushing it out here, I see you !
This video was a beauty! The setting was spectacular enough by itself, but kudos for the great filming of all the beauty. I literally felt like I could feel the air there and smell the forest and the mud! Special shoutout to Adam for surfing there! That’s not a beginners spot, so you were quite adventurous! And, as always, the FOOD! I love watching what you all eat everywhere! I’ll be dreaming of Tacofino.....
You folks are producing some of the very best travel content on the Internet. The content you are creating helps others like me plan trips. Seriously, it's invaluable. Every episode is always loaded with very useful information. Your story of your journey to Alaska this year is excellent. I subscribe to more than 70 Van Life/Travel/RV/Outdoor/Camping channels now and you've clearly advanced into my "can't miss an episode" of travel content creators. Because much of your focus is on the places you visit and not on the many mundane issues of van life, you are providing the type of terrific content that I get from only six of the 70+ channels to which I subscribe; for e.g., Liz & Dennis w/ Eat See RV; Tim and Fin; From She to Me; Bound for Nowhere w/ Mac & Owen and the up and coming, On World Travel). In the rare instance where you do spotlight "van life", it's on an issue that impacts you and your travel plans. And based on the issue, you demonstrate the steps you take to get back on track (e.g., the busted back window). You don't produce videos where half an episode is devoted to how you clean your van's floor or build a spice rack. Not knocking the content creators that do that, but you seem to personally wrap me up in your journey and take care of me with much of the information I would want to know if I were to do it myself, which is why I watch all of your videos. If I want to know how to change out my coach batteries, I can do a search on that topic. Further, your personalities complement the places you visit and the work you create and not the other way around. That's very refreshing. You mix national parks w/ state parks, small towns w/ big towns; oceans w/ deserts w/ mountains w/ valleys. You're in the great outdoors most of the time, but you also show us interesting stops and venues, places to eat, and events. You're also prolific producers, which I know creates enormous amounts of prep and planning, work, and production while generating stress and fatigue. Your commitment is extraordinary. Anyway, just wanted let you know that this is one subscriber that appreciates the focus of your work and the personalities behind the magic . Thank you both, and keep up the great work!
Greg your comment really means a lot to us and we’ve reread it many times. We strive to create balanced, helpful content and it means a lot is when that gets recognized and appreciated. Thanks again, Greg! We’ll remember this comment when we have a struggle moment every now and then!
Wow those views were worth the crazy hike! Love the Kona cam too!! Adam sorry about your surf, but you gave it your all! Always love the dancing bloops! Great video guys! ~Cara 😊
You guys are the best. My wife Teresa and I are fans. We found you a few months ago and have been watching ever since. We love your videography… Spectacular! Also, you are so cute together. And the food reviews always make us hungry. We look forward to future videos on your trip to Alaska.
Adam you sounded so dejected as you were returning your board to the rental place.🤷🏻♀️Surfing isn’t easy & I thought your second attempt was worthy of a thumbs up & I’m sure Kathryn would agree!👍🏼Anyway, Coos Bay Beach was magical!😱 Thanks to you 3 for taking us along with you! Stay safe. Hugs to Kona.🐶
Those tacos were 🤌🤌. And ya the water was very cold! I wished I would’ve had a hood for the wetsuit! Your head almost burns when it dunks under the water! 🥶🥶
That. View. Overlooking the beach. Wow. Sooooo gorgeous. And you capture it so well with your cinematography skills. Loved the peek of a lighthouse in the distance on one of those islands, too. Thanks again for sharing!!
What an amazing places. So incredible view from that top. I don't just enjoy your videos but also learn something about some history of every place you go. Very informative. And also got to know different food from different cultures. Really appreciated. Thank you and stay safe. See you on the next one ✌
Amazing landscape. You guys always find the most unique foods. Fun watching Adam surfing 🌊. I would say that you do need more than one lesson to get the hang of it. Very fun video. 🌻🐕🇺🇸
Thanks for the enjoyable adventures. Sorry about the mud, no so much fun cleaning the boots. Great job with editing all that together. Looking forward to the next one!😀👍
We really enjoy your videos! We have gone to many of the same places, though we’re not campers. We had a trip planned to Vancouver Island in the summer of 2020, which we of course had to cancel due to Covid and the border being closed. These videos reminded me of why we wanted to go there. Hopefully we’ll get to plan another trip there. Looking forward to see where else you go. Safe travels!
The abandoned building on the way to the Canso crash site is an old radio relay and navigation station from the days before GPS. It hasn't even been abandoned that long but the rainforest is reclaiming it quickly!
The Canso bomber was the Canadian version of the PBY Catalina which was used by the US Navy and the British in WW2. It was a British PBY which spotted the German battleship Bismark in 1941 and the Catalinas were active throughout the Pacific Theater. There are still a few Catalinas still flying. I am enjoying your Vancouver Island videos even more than your usual ones because it is a place I have always wanted to visit.
I thought it was cute the way you pronounced Tofino. Hi from Vancouver Island! Great video. Even though I live on central island, I haven't been to the west coast for a few years. But it was so lovely to see it from your viewpoint. Thanks for coming. 🇨🇦🍁
Ya we kick ourselves for pronouncing it wrong 🤦♂️ we love all of the places we’ve been on Vancouver Island. It’s one of our favorite places ever! Thanks and thanks for watching!
Sun and blue skies in Tofino; truly not a common thing. Lucky! Although the rain is magical too, but you don't catch the views if it's rainy (and it sure can rain a ton!) Safe travels!
Wonderful video - I became curious about Vancouver Island after watching Alone. I want to go to the food truck side of the island, lol. Kona looks like she had a blast, too.
Welcome to the best place on earth. I live in Black creek just south of Campbell river and work in Campbell river. If you have the time drive up to Myra falls where there is some great hiking and waterfalls and awesome views along the way. Also go see Elk falls in Campbell river
@@AdventuresofAplusK pizza will always be first, but an ideal meal plan for every day while alive is pizza and then tacos. I will fight anyone over this. 😂
One of the interesting features of the plane crash site is the two round pools just before you get to the plane. When they were recovering what they could from the plane they decided they weren't going to carry the bombs out so they detonated them - hence the round pools!
You guys are great!! I love watching your vids, and your bloopers are great too!! Keep it up 💃🏼😂Watching all your hiking and adventures for food, I'd want a big long sleeps after all that!! HAHA!! I love that you included your doggo too!! 😻
Another great video. Thanks for all the amazing work and fun laughs. I personally can't wait for the endings, the biggest laughs are always at the end. We are headed to Vancouver and Alaska in 2 months. Can't wait for the next video so we can add more things to the list, which your videos always do to us!! 😊❤️
I truly look forward to each of your video’s. Such an amazing place this time. Can’t wait to see it one day! We actually are going to Minnesota this year because of one of your videos! Keep up the amazing work! ❤️
Thank you so much! We’re happy to share and it really makes us happy when we hear that we’re helpful or inspire someone to get out and do something! You’re going to love Minnesota and like the other comment on this chain definitely check out the entire North Shore!
Glad you had a good time, we were there last Saturday, I went SUP surfing at South Chesterman's with a group lesson at SWELL. We camped at the longbeach campground by the Golf Course and Airport.
Wow, this episode is just packed with sooo much beach fun, even Kona had a sand and mud bath :)) Adam's surfing made me laugh so hard, just like Hermione Granger said: it wasn't very good, was it? It's okay, we learn much more from failure than success. The campsite really is expansive, but look at the location and view... well worth it! Hoping to see some breathtaking sunset shots soon!
if you are in Victoria, red fish blue fish (on the waterfront )is like a food truck as well as tea at the Empress is really fancy. Love the island. I hiked the west coast trail a few years ago so imagine all that mud and boardwalk with a backpack and for 5 days!!
I'm really enjoying your videos. I'm planning a trip to Oregon this summer and started watching your videos in Oregon. They helped me plan my trip, thank you! Keep it up!
Terrific video and great job spotlighting the hikes and trails! Also, the food looks droolworthy. Will have to find those food trucks on our next visit. 🇨🇦
So cool to learn some things about this beautiful island and places that I never knew! So glad that story was a positive one! There is a light house beach ect down island that is apparently a hike in too love ur van and so glad I found u guys and ur past adventures some we plan to do. Just so cool ur on the island 😊
Crispy Cheese! Yum yum yum. Tofino looks so beautiful. What an awesome beginning to your Canada trip. That surf campground looked incredible as well! Wow. And every video is a great one when Kona cam returns. Nice effort on the surfing! Also, you NEED to come to the Minnesota State Fair...they put EVEVERYTHING on a stick. And I mean everything. You would love it!
Hello Adventurers😊😊😊, Hey Adam...what happened in the water trying to surf😝😝😝😝. Very tough surfing huh...and Kathryn stuck in the mud😜😜😜. Anyway, this place is ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR!! The closest I've been to Vancouver Island was Port Angeles, Washington. Looking forward to your next stop and eventually Victoria. OUTSTANDING VIDEO👍👍👍👍👍!
Will be on Vancouver Island from UK on Monday-the dream of a lifetime!, had intended to go to Jasper too but it's closed so Tofino it is! I'll save a load of money by staying on the island so i think it's going to work out very well! Thanks for the vids!
Wonderful coverage of Tofino guys! Lots of people say it wrong, don’t worry. I haven’t been over to Tofino/Ucluelet in three years now and miss it. It’s such a treasure!!!
As a teacher here in BC, I have to add that First People’s education is front and centre in ALL of our classrooms. It became a requirement about ten years ago and now it is fully integrated. We say greetings and acknowledgment of the land before every assembly, we bring First Nations speakers into the classrooms and read many books. It’s all part of making up for the atrocities and genocides of the past. I’m glad you noticed the difference as it means we are doing something right 👍
Last tidbit, my husband lived in Campbell River as kid and a cruise ship crashed there in the early 80s and they dragged it back to the pulp mill dock. My father in law was involved in the help. Everyone was ok thankfully. It was called the Sundancer.
That’s amazing! I (Adam) think it’s important to read and learn about this. Where we come from (Texas) a lot of the history of the state is white washed unfortunately. We love that Canada is making this effort and we wish America could try a little harder to do the same
Mud is an occupational hazard on the wet coast. When the annual rainfall is over 3 Metres, what do you expect...😄 Great video you two. We live in the Vancouver area and just bought a van. Planning our first trip to the island later this year.

That’s an awesome looking place, I would take so many pictures
We did! So many to look through!
Wow! What a beautiful area. Loved your filming of the entire adventure. Super great filming of Adam surfing.
Thank you! ❤️
What an amazing places. So incredible view from that top. I don't just enjoy your videos but also learn something about some history of every place you go. Very informative. And also got to know different food from different cultures. Really appreciated. Thank you and stay safe. See you on the next one ✌
We love mixing in views, history, food, and adventure. Thank you!
Look so beautiful there😍😍
❤️💙
I am loving your vlog style. I hope you get to show us some of your bloopers. That would be a hit!
Thank you! We share most of the bloopers and outtakes we can. That are appropriate! 😂 thanks for watching!
Love to watch that Kona girl enjoying the ocean.!
She loves it! ❤️❤️
I just want to say this keep on driving keep on sharing and you both are awesome and your cute puppy dog is awesome as well.
Thanks a lot, Jimmy! 🚐❤️
Adam, you get an E for effort. Surfing looks tough. I liked the Kona cam, that was cool. A beautiful part of the world.
I’ll take an E! 😂 It was tough, but so fun! Kona cam is always fun!
Amazing landscape. You guys always find the most unique foods. Fun watching Adam surfing 🌊. I would say that you do need more than one lesson to get the hang of it. Very fun video. 🌻🐕🇺🇸
Ya it was a tough day out there! 😂 it was still a ton of fun!
Thanks for the enjoyable adventures. Sorry about the mud, no so much fun cleaning the boots. Great job with editing all that together. Looking forward to the next one!😀👍
The mud is fun in its own way too 😂. Thank you so much, Lynn!
We hope you can return some time soon! Thanks for watching!
The abandoned building on the way to the Canso crash site is an old radio relay and navigation station from the days before GPS. It hasn't even been abandoned that long but the rainforest is reclaiming it quickly!
Ah that makes sense! Wow...it doesn't take long for nature to reclaim! Thanks for sharing
Oh interesting! Thanks for that info! We’re glad you are enjoying it and hopefully we captured the beauty and did it justice!
funny couple, made me laugh, thanks for the video
We got lucky with a sunny day! Although it can make filming harder, but we were lucky to see all those views! Thanks!
Wonderful video - I became curious about Vancouver Island after watching Alone. I want to go to the food truck side of the island, lol. Kona looks like she had a blast, too.
Kona always has a blast! Thanks! We hope you can go!
Love your video of south beach. Beautiful ❤️
Thank you! ❤️💙
Welcome to the best place on earth. I live in Black creek just south of Campbell river and work in Campbell river. If you have the time drive up to Myra falls where there is some great hiking and waterfalls and awesome views along the way. Also go see Elk falls in Campbell river
We did both! Amazing spots! Thanks and thanks for watching, Andrew! We had an amazing time on the island!
Had to watch because of the tacos. I’m half kidding. That last beach in Pacific Rim reminded me of some in Northern Ireland. Cox bay looks epic!
The tacos were well worth the watch! Super tasty! That was a beautiful park! And Cox Bay was epic!
@@AdventuresofAplusK pizza will always be first, but an ideal meal plan for every day while alive is pizza and then tacos. I will fight anyone over this. 😂
love that the Japanese restaurant gave wooden knife and folk
I really liked that as well!
W00t W00t! So glad you guys made it to Tofino and checked out Canso ! And thx for the shout out, but still, lies and delusions of grandeur..! :)
Maybe we need to bring Doug into this and see who he sides with! 😜
@@AdventuresofAplusK if you think Jury Stacking is the right way to go... I'd simply propose a second round
Awesome views! You guys stay safe n those parks. I would be too nervous especially w/bears 🐻! You all are brave. #safetravels
We are nervous too! 😂 But we make a lot of noise, carry our bear spray at the ready, and just stay alert! Thanks, Sherry!
Adam, so we will be looking forward to the surf Alaska day in a few weeks. Brrrrrrrr.... You two make some really great travel videos. Safe travels.
I’m not planning on it, but maybe it’ll be an unplanned adventure! Thanks and thanks for watching!
One of the interesting features of the plane crash site is the two round pools just before you get to the plane. When they were recovering what they could from the plane they decided they weren't going to carry the bombs out so they detonated them - hence the round pools!
That is super interesting! Thanks for sharing!
You guys are great!! I love watching your vids, and your bloopers are great too!! Keep it up 💃🏼😂Watching all your hiking and adventures for food, I'd want a big long sleeps after all that!! HAHA!! I love that you included your doggo too!! 😻
It tuckers is out too! Thank you so much for watching!
Another great video. Thanks for all the amazing work and fun laughs. I personally can't wait for the endings, the biggest laughs are always at the end. We are headed to Vancouver and Alaska in 2 months. Can't wait for the next video so we can add more things to the list, which your videos always do to us!! 😊❤️
We’ve been having a lot of fun with the bloopers lately! 😂. We hope our videos are a great resource for you!
🌮 "This is better than a taco" 🌮 hmm? looks really good and all, but... Great work guys, keep movin'!
It was pretty darn good! Thanks!
Another great episode. Thanks
❤️❤️
I truly look forward to each of your video’s. Such an amazing place this time. Can’t wait to see it one day! We actually are going to Minnesota this year because of one of your videos! Keep up the amazing work! ❤️
Minnesota resident here. Love the North Shore we go up there every summer/fall
Thank you so much! We’re happy to share and it really makes us happy when we hear that we’re helpful or inspire someone to get out and do something! You’re going to love Minnesota and like the other comment on this chain definitely check out the entire North Shore!
We can’t wait to go back! We LOVED it!
Glad you had a good time, we were there last Saturday, I went SUP surfing at South Chesterman's with a group lesson at SWELL. We camped at the longbeach campground by the Golf Course and Airport.
Sounds epic!
We had a ton of fun! Surfing was tough and definitely a learning experience!
if you are in Victoria, red fish blue fish (on the waterfront )is like a food truck as well as tea at the Empress is really fancy. Love the island. I hiked the west coast trail a few years ago so imagine all that mud and boardwalk with a backpack and for 5 days!!
We love Red Fish Blue Fish! It’ll be in our Victoria video ☺️
We hope to do the West Coast Trail one day!
I'm really enjoying your videos. I'm planning a trip to Oregon this summer and started watching your videos in Oregon. They helped me plan my trip, thank you! Keep it up!
That’s our biggest goal with these videos so that makes us happy to hear!
@@AdventuresofAplusK would've never known about that 10 waterfall hike outside of Portland. Really looking forward to it! safe travels to both of you!
Terrific video and great job spotlighting the hikes and trails! Also, the food looks droolworthy. Will have to find those food trucks on our next visit. 🇨🇦
It was very droolworthy! And the views were 😍. Thanks for watching!
So cool to learn some things about this beautiful island and places that I never knew! So glad that story was a positive one! There is a light house beach ect down island that is apparently a hike in too love ur van and so glad I found u guys and ur past adventures some we plan to do. Just so cool ur on the island 😊
Vancouver Island was so much fun and beautiful! We’re so glad we could share. Thanks for watching!
Crispy cheese is 👍👍. The campground was a ton of fun! We’d love to visit the MN state fair one day!
I had a rough go of it! 😂 but it was still a blast! Thank you!
Will be on Vancouver Island from UK on Monday-the dream of a lifetime!, had intended to go to Jasper too but it's closed so Tofino it is!
I'll save a load of money by staying on the island so i think it's going to work out very well!
Thanks for the vids!
We hope you have a great time!
The views though 😍😍 still watching but absolutely loving the video so far! Thanks for sharing! I wish my partner enjoyed hiking 😂😂
Thank you! Hopefully we can convert them! 😂
Great job surfer dude, after Alaska fly to Hawaii. Really proud of you!!!! It was the surf shoes!!!!
Thanks! We can’t wait to get back to Hawaii and I can finally surf there!
just trying to help but suit goes over booty. Have fun.
Been crazy inspired by this one - I even threw my dinner plans out the window and went and made homemade gringa tacos myself
Gringa tacos > everything! Thank you!
We were worried about the pronunciation 😅. The locals haven’t gotten a view at the video yet…😨
That’s amazing! I (Adam) think it’s important to read and learn about this. Where we come from (Texas) a lot of the history of the state is white washed unfortunately. We love that Canada is making this effort and we wish America could try a little harder to do the same
Oh wow! Too bad we didn’t see anything about that there. We’ll have to look into that next time!
You guys di such a good job in your videos! I'll have to go check out your Hawaii videos.
Thank you!
Fantastic!
Mud is an occupational hazard on the wet coast. When the annual rainfall is over 3 Metres, what do you expect...😄 Great video you two. We live in the Vancouver area and just bought a van. Planning our first trip to the island later this year.
You got that right! Thanks and thanks for watching!
