Love the sewing videos. Keep going just really enjoy your relaxed attitude and all the tips. My setup is a little smaller than yours. I spent 6 months in hospital and lost my ability to sit or stand or walk. I'm working on it but it's going to be a long haul. Decided I could quilt as I had been sewing since I was 8. So my care workers come in the morning get me washed and dressed in my hospital bed. They then use a hoist to lift me into my lift recliner. Then they wheel over my 2 five draw sets from michaels one each side we put a 4foot piece of wide shelving to span the gap and that's my sewing table. They plug in the machine and an iron for me and that's where I spend the day. If I get tired I recline and nap but I always do my exercises before I turn on the machine.

Very sweet block! I really need to start making blocks from Lori’s books. They are all so cute. Love your little sewing space. Mine is the dining room table. At my age it’s too late for maybe someday I’ll have a sewing room so I with what I have. See you next time.

I used to feel that I really didn't care if I got a fancy machine. My old one suited me just fine. The only thing I thought would really make a big difference was the larger throat space. Now that I have it I love it though. So many things I didn't think were that big of a deal. I love that it cuts the thread automatically, I love the IDT system, I love my extension table, I REALLY LOVE that giant throat space. I could go on and on. If you do upgrade you will only wish you did it sooner. You can get a really great deal if you can find a place that has old stock of a model that has just come out with a newer version. That's what I did.

Yeah that’s a hard one to find. You might have to get it from Etsy. And this one is so fun!!!!

You can always sew straight lines with your machine for the whiskers… girl I never thought about clipping my alpha bitters on .. duh… I just been laying them on the fabric and 🙏🙏 they stayed where they belong

Hi Andrea, I want to make these quilts too. I have the fabrics but haven’t had the time yet. Gosh, I wish I could turn myself into a machine so I could get more done. 😅 I usually put my scraps aside and do them all at once, but it looks like you spend minimal time so maybe I’ll change how I do it. I’m trying to think about joining in with you, unsure at this time.. I have another quilt I wanted to begin on have you ever seen the quilt called Synergy. Rob Appel made it and I love it and I’ve planned to do this as soon as I’m done with the one I’m working on. Have a good day, ❤ Chris

Nice video. I have this book too and also started these blocks so this video is encouraging me to continue. As an aside note, I don't think you should show the cutting instructions, when Kimberly shows her books she covers that. People should buy her books if they want to follow along.

I love your sewing station. We use what we have! I have outgrown my bedroom and have taken over my spare bedroom, but it's a hot mess express right now! My momma is the best too. She spoiled me with a Bernina 2 years ago. I am still learning on it. I am with you, sew not into curved piecing, applique or embroidery. Lol. Sometimes I wish I had left my machine in my bedroom so I could sew at any time lol. I am horrible with scraps, I throw them in a tote that's only for scraps. Then when I need a piece I cut it down. I love this block! I listen to music as I sew. If I put on the TV I zone and don't sew as much lol. Audio books are awesome too!
Yes I keep a small ruler holder on my cutting board with my small rulers that I use all the time

I loved watching you make Lori Holt quilt blocks. I also love everything she does. I had a White sewing machine from my grandmother when I graduated high school in 1965, and I used it for making clothes, sewing for other people, making dolls and even a wedding dress and train. During Covid I decided to learn to quilt so I eventually bought me a Baby Lock Accomplish machine which I love. It has the needle threader, scissors, extension table and the knee lift. I have found that I love my machine and I love the knee lift which I really didn’t know how much it helps when you are making quilts. I absolutely love it and would not buy another machine without it. I saved up for my machine and bought it at $1100. It is a straight quilting machine but I love it. It would be nice to have a zig zag on it but I have my old machine that has that if I need it. I don’t have a big sewing space; my machine sits on a 4 foot folding table with another folding table on the side in an “L” shape which hold my ironing tools and also a small space for cutting while sewing if I need it. I use my dining table for cutting out my big pieces. My space is not fancy buy it works which is all I need.

Omg thanks for showing you quilty station. I was debating on getting that exact desk! Hehe my mom bought my current sewing machine also! Moms who support our hobbies are AWESOME! It funny going back to older project we started when we were noobs and seeing how much we screwed up with our cutting. I look at mines like “what was I even thinking then???” 😂
