Thank you for sharing this!! I didn't realize that it's that easy to can salsa! I'm definitely going to have to get the items and groceries to make this!!❤ I love your videos, I went and watched every single one you've made and you got me up and cleaning my place and adding touches of candles and flowers!! Thank you so much for what you do and God bless you and your family!!❤
I love the multi colored peppers, makes the salsa so colorful and fresh looking! Beautiful!
Hey girl! 😄 I’ve been canning like crazy from our garden...green beans, pepper jelly, spaghetti sauce, tomato paste, and cubed tomatoes. Salsa is a great idea thanks!! 💕
I love homemade salsa! This video really makes me miss my grandparents. I use to help them can every summer!
I was searching for videos that would show me that it is OK not to cook your salsa before you can it. I always seemed to me you’re double cooking it prior to canning. I’m happy to see that you are not doing that. You did a wonderful job with your video, and I thank you❤️😋❤️😋
Those tomatoes were gorgeous! How lucky your family is to have you! Your salsa looks just delicious!
"Let your faith be bigger than your fear"...love it!!! Amen!!!💗💗💗
Christians are literally terrified of everything
Love the motto and the video both. I was looking for videos to open my own salsa business. This one is exellent
I have to say, I have followed your recipe for the last two times that I've canned my salsa... the only thing I did not do was put Mrs wages salsa mix in. It has came out fantastic each time with your recipe. Thanks so much for sharing! I honestly never thought I could ever do this, but look at me!
That’s great! 😄
Thank you Amy. I am interested in making this salsa. Especially the salsa spice mix. God bless you all.
Neat thing I just learned, save the skins and dehydrate them for tomato powder
That looks very delicious. Thank you for sharing your recipes and techniques. Bless your family…
Excellent instructional video, I
can't wait to try.😃❤😊
Thanks for this!!
Thank you!! I followed your recipe minus just a couple things I didn't have. Turned out great!!
That was really good! You teach well your directions are very clear and concise and easy to follow. I still use your cape dress tutorial every time I sew 😊🥰
Salsa looks delicious! We also love the taste of cilantro.
Your salsa looks absolutely delicious. The video was wonderful so informative, your explanation of how to can things was great and easy to follow. Sending love and best wishes to you and your family from across the water 💞
Thank you! Just harvested first batch of tomatoes for the season, made some salsa, and wanted to know how to can it. Very helpful video- and you have a great little helper there, too!
Oh wow, I have been canning salsa for the longest time but was always afraid of adding anything else than tomatoes and when I do the bath I always start with cold water until it boils and then 20 minutes...you just use the boiling water and only 10 minutes...you just made my job even easier...! I'm still in awe! thank you very much for sharing!
Thanks, well explained video . I recently began canning tomatoes when my daughter came with a bushel of fresh tomatoes I didn’t wanted to go to waste since we are only three in our house.
I did this last year following your video. Thank you so much! Our family loved it. I gave away several jars and everyone that tried this loved it. I tweaked it some but mostly stayed with your recipe. I can’t even remember how many jars I ended up making because everyone wanted more and more. Lol. Going to do this again this year …. Even making more.
That sounds amazing! So glad you loved it. 😊
We have used that Salsa mix before and loved it!! I love your videos!
Talk about heaven on earth !! That's how I feel when I watch your videos. 🙂🙂
I Love That your children are there with you, close and watching 😍🥰
Salsa looks so good!! You did a great job 👍😊
That looks absolutely delicious. I love salsa and I'll have to try this out. But knowing me I would have to sell some of it cause it takes me a minute to eat a jar of salsa. You did a really great job can't wait until the next video.
Thank you for sharing this 🙂 I wanted to do this
Amazing thank you so very much for this.
Thank you Amy I thought it was one batch made some today what a great receipt the best Thank you for sharing it god bless you and family

Your salsa looks delicious, you also have some sweet little helpers !! God bless you all ..
Glad to see someone can more like I do !!!

Thank you so much for the idea that was awesome to learn I never thought of doing Trust of the way you do it I'm going to try it like that have a blessed and safe day you and your family😊❤😊😊
Great video Amy!
Great video. Thank you!
Amy, you do everything with such grace. And you make things look easy. I would be picking tomato cubes out of my hair. I am trying to scale this down for me. A jar or two. Hmmmmm
Thank you for sharing. I just started canning and looking forward to using your recipe for salsa. Quick question, do I need 1/2 in headspace for salsa?
Wow Amy that was a cool transition when you were scalding the tomatoes! 🍅
Just finished mixing up all the ingredients and I'm tasting it. It does taste sweet! Didnt expect the recipe to call for sugar and vinegar!! Made a half recipe even though i blanched all the tomatoes, because I'm not confident in myself yet lol.
This will be my first time canning anything ever. Gotta figure out what to put in my pot as i dont have a rack. Thank you soo much for this video and recipe and we'll see how it goes!!!!
I hope it turns out great for you. 😊 You can put a layer of canning rings on the bottom to lift the jars a bit.
Looks good. Where did you find your mixing bowls with the handles? They seem very handy. Thanks 🤗
Thanks for sharing this video.
Reminds me of our house when I was growing up. We'd can all sorts of veggies and fruits. Jelly and jams, once even sausage! Then we got a freezer and started freezing things too. We cut corn off the cob and canned some and froze some. We had corn everywhere! But it sure tasted good! That salsa looked so yummy now I'm hungry! See you next time. God bless 🙏 i
Yes, frozen sweet corn is the best! Glad you enjoyed 😀
@@PositivelyAmy 🤗
YUM!
Just exactly what I wanted to find!!!! Perfect video thank you!!!!!!!
Well Amy I tried your way and I used Roma tomatoes (since they are a little firmer)…
and it came out mush instead of nice chunks like yours did!!!😩What the heck am I doing wrong? Did I maybe scald them too long?
Maybe so. Although I've never used Roma tomatoes to make salsa, I scald them just long enough that the peelings will come off nicely. It doesn't take long at all.
@@PositivelyAmy thank you!!! I still made your recipe and it was delicious I just cooked it down a little longer so it was a little thicker cus mine was too watery before.. i’m going to keep trying till I get one like yours!!😁🙌❤️❤️
Ps, forgot to tell you that one of my jars broke when I put it in the canner… brother just wasn’t my day I guess LOL~
Do you remove the seeds & core before scalding & did u use any vinegar?🤩
Hi, just made the recipe this past weekend, it tasted amazing fresh as well, wondering if it's okay, our jars had about an inch of clear liquid at the bottom and the salsa moved up to the top touching the lid in most cases, I also had some liquid leak out into the water bath as it turned orangish red while processing, I processed for 40 min (missed the part about 10), any thoughts, it appears they all sealed?!
thank you now i can do this
i love the cooking videos
You should make more canning tutorials, would love to see more recipes and learn.
Hopefully, this summer I can do more canning videos. 😃
Thanks for sharing.
That is a great recipe Amy, thank-you. Most recipes call for cooking the salsa and adding vinegar or bottled lemon juice. I see though that you have been successfully canning your salsa without any of that.
The recipe calls for 1/2 cup of vinegar, though I don't believe she mentions it, or the sugar.
I hope she added lemon juice or vinegar, because that is crucial for keeping the pH down (high acidity) to prevent botulism. Some varieties of tomatoes are acidic enough, but unless you test the pH yourself after mixing everything you can't be 100% sure.
Outbreaks are rare, but you seriously don't want to play around when it comes to botulism. In most cases, you can't rely on a simple "sniff test" to determine if botulism toxin is present. The infection is far more sinister than other food borne illness like E. Coli or Salmonella-you have a 40-50% chance of death if you don't seek treatment. Even with treatment, you could be on a ventilator for 2-8 weeks. Almost every outbreak results from improperly home-canned foods.
Lol, I'm so glad you put your apron on...I was so concerned about your pretty yellow dress! A jar of your home made salsa plus a bag of chips will make a wonderful Christmas gift this winter!
Great idea! 😊
I use Mrs Wages too. Their mixes are good
Hi Amy. May I ask, for the vinegar is that cider or white.. thank you so much for sharing of your time!!
Thank you so much! Do you can it in the water bath for longer time if you use a wide mouth quart?
Hi Amy,I just started watching your RUclips channel and this was a year ago,. I like your recipe because you are doing the cold pack method. My question is I'm going to half the recipe because I don't that many tomatoes and my vinegar will be half. Is that enough for this salsa or should I put lemon juice or citric acid in the bottom of my jars so it will not go bad.
Hi Amy I enjoy your channel! I didn't see it listed how long you can them for in the water bath?
This recipe looks awesome...when removing tomato skins...plung them immediately into cold water after the hot water bath and the skins will fall off easily..no burned fingers....
Thank you JESUS. I wanted to know how to do this and now I do, Thanks to you😊. God bless you 🙏.
How do you get the smell of onions off your hands? Great video! Thank you 😊
Amy, I only planted 2 big boy tomato plants, but I am only getting 3-4 ripe at a time. My farm lady neighbor suggested coring and freezing them and when they thaw they’ll peel easy then I could make smaller batches of salsa. What would your suggestion be for making only a half dozen pint jars?
Do we need the Mrs. Wages salsa mix , I live n Canada and I would not be able to find that. Is there any other ones that I could sub . Thanks
Love watching your videos! You inspire me too get canning! Where is your blue/green bowl from?
It is from Tupperware.
This looks amazing. I love to can. I was curious about the kids from Amazon. Do they work well & seal? I've had trouble finding canning lids where I live.
Yeah, same here. So far I have no complaints about the lids from Amazon. I was a bit skeptical because of all the mixed reviews but they work fine for me.
Good video thanks
You should put the chopper in the sink and chop the tomatoes. If it splatters it won't be a big mess on the counter. We also put the tomatoes in cold water in the sink when we take them out of the hot water. It stops them from cooking and the skin falls right off. We make a salsa that needs to be cooked. I may try yours though It looks yummy!
Thank you for your videos. Just one question...Shouldn't lids be kept in simmering water and not touched with hands? Just something I see in other videos.
Where do you find those Selsa packet mixesI’ve never heard of them before and how many tomatoes or per se how many pounds of tomatoes did you use I know I’m not quite done with the video maybe you were going to put that in but I am asking thank you
Thanks 👍
I'm new. Today was my first time canning. Is it normal to have some liquid on the bottom of the jar after you remove from the water bath?
Yum!
The salsa sounds amazing, can't wait to try it. I don't have one of the pots you used at the end. Would a big pot and lid be okay to use. How long does the salsa last once it has been canned. Thank you. Have a great weekend.
Any pot that you can put a rack on the bottom, fill with jars, cover with water 1 to 2 inches over the jars without splashing all over the place will work. Wish you the best!! You'll love canning!!
Waiting on my garden but doing this very soon
Hi, I can not wait to make this!! THANK YOU so much for sharing this video!!! I do have one question, please. The recipe that is shown is that for a double batch, or do you double the recipe to make a double batch. Thank you again!!
I made double that recipe. I hope you love the salsa! 😊
Wonderful video. Need more women like you in the world.
Hi Amy!
Thank you so much for all of your videos; I love watching them!!
I have a question on the salsa recipe that you shared. When you say you doubled the batch, does that mean that a single batch is 7 cups? I actually have 28 cups of tomatoes, so I’m wondering if the 14 cups you listed is the ingredients for a single or double batch. I hope this makes sense!! I will be finishing up tomorrow with the canning process, so I wanted to make sure to get it right.
Thank you so much for your help!!
28 cups is a double batch, yes. Have fun with canning. 😊
@@PositivelyAmy thank you so much for the info!! I sure will…it’s very rewarding work!!
Where do I find the link you mentioned?
Your tomatoes look so much better than mine lol. I grew my own, but they're kinda of sad looking. Oh, well. I'm gonna chalk it up to it being the first year and I'm still learning. Lol. At least my jalapeños and onions turned out well.
Hi how long can you store your salsa? Does it expire?
How long do you put your salsa in the hot bath to seal the cans?
Hello do you get rid of the juice or add it
Do you not need to sterilize the jars and lids before placing into the canner?
Your salsa looks delicious! Did all of your lids seal? I was thinking of purchasing some of those lids on amazon but saw alot of mixed reviews and have been hesitant. Thank you for sharing
Yeah, I was a bit hesitant as well, but so far I have no complaints. I have used half of that box of lids and so far every one has sealed for me.
How long did you cook the salsa after
No mention of the spices? What spices did you use?
Did you sterilize jars and wash lids-noticed right out of box? Finger tight rings...not snug or might not seal. Looks good though!
Love the video and was trying to find one about not cooking salsa. I keep hearing that you have to make sure you have the right acidity and do you heat your jars before you put in the water bath?
Wondering the same about having to add lemon juice or vinegar.
Wait did i miss something do you cook it first before you pack it ? And how long did u water bath them?
Hi Amy, I’m a little 😟 I did my salsa today, but I used my frozen tomatoes, so the mixture was cold to put in my jars. I did them for ten minutes in the water bath, but feeling a little unsure since they were cold to start out. Do you think they’ll be ok?
Thanks
Can you tell me how long I keep the salsa
Newbie question! When you put your jars in the cooker, did you release any pressure in the jar and then tighten the lid ring down? How do you get the seal, if they are already tight before you cook them?
No need to release pressure from the jar or tighten the ring. If you put the rings on "finger tight" the air will escape during the processing. Watch that you leave enough headspace. If you are a newbie, I might suggest looking up some other canning videos for new canners. There are a lot of great RUclips videos out there. Good luck and safe canning.
Amy, after a few worry comments, I have to tell you, the salsa turned out amazing. Family thinks I should sell it🤣. Next request, do you make homemade tortillas chips? and what is your recipe 😊
I’m starting early so I can hear from you in time for tomato salsa season 😊. Everyone loved my salsa and it was your recipe ❤. I used better girl, a little watery, but a lot of request. What tomatoes did you use!
I’m not exactly sure on the kind. I got them from a local farmer and didn’t ask what they were. I’m so glad everyone loved it! 😃
