@@AngryBritain really isn't that big of a deal there's plenty of speakers with big magnets on the market that still sounds horrible but a proper sized magnet will give it the tight bass and the design of the speaker will help in the higher-end frequency is where it really matters
Yes these are running straight off the HU (Pioneer SPH-20DAB). Speakers are 5.25’’ so mounting plates and grills probably make them about 5.75’’ which is nearly where I came unstuck due to how the old ones had been mounted. They may well actually have been 4.5’’ speakers. These combined with Focal 6.5s (165AC) in the front doors and a Pioneer underseat sub makes it sounds amazing for a relatively cheap and uncomplicated set up.
@@AngryBritain I’ve just ordered these speakers and ordered a 120mm hole cutter. I just wondered what size holes you had previously on your van. Thanks
@Richbowker They were slightly smaller than they needed to be, I’m guessing 5’ so just ground out the existing hole to suit. They’re well worth the effort, they sound great
Van is looking ace. You should do an art attack pose after every time lapse ;)
Haha brilliant! Noted for the next one!!

It matters a lot actually. It's the magnet that generates the bass. Focal make shallow mounts that still incorporate a large magnet.

did you wire these straight to the head unit and do you have any idea how large the grills are. The van looks great :)
