They developped a tool to analyse player input (similar to the cloutiful investigation) and applied it to every single replay submitted. They caught quite a lot of people, including the top streamer at the time. He was one of the top 16 players, he had the level to be, but he was cheating his offline replays with a slowmo hack to get those insane plays faster. It was shown that more than 80% of the insane plays were cheated
I strongly doubt that mrekk is cheating, he has played with handcam for ages, and the evidence has been refuted by the creator of the software that does the analysis in the first place.
To be completely honest, mrekk could actually be cheating, dude is #1 globally and some of the maps he be doing and successful in, looks entirely impossible

He’s participated at LAN tournaments, and had a hand cam for his craziest of clips, he streamed the 1.6k but didn’t for the 1.7k.
This last play lol, 1300 with 1 miss and 2 sliderbreaks is insane
He's been grinding that map for quite a bit now. Always chokes though
