I really appreciate your past video on the paid content on RUclips. After that video I stopped watched stuff like top 10 X products bc I assume it’s all sponsored but love it coming from a channel I trust! Keep up the great work!

I’d say small portable computers have gotten better in terms of hardware and software. Steamdeck is really incredible as a platform for games and Linux. Another small computer that will have a huge impact is the Raspberry Pi 5. Previous Pi’s had a desktop experience, but it was compromised or need some tweaks. The 5 is really no compromises and support a lot of fast drive options besides SD cards. Once all the software support catches up I intend to setup an affordable NAS with it.
One of my biggest surprises this year was AirPods Pro 2 w/ USB C. Having the original AirPods Pro I was ready for an incremental improvement, but the features are very impressive. Transparency and noise canceling modes are even better. Small changes like a chime when the AirPod case needs charging are welcome.
Also recently picked up a USB C cable with power measurement. So many different devices it’s gotten a lot harder to match up the right usb c charger with the right device.

Based on your video I picked up an ONN Tablet when they first came out. And I was one of those folks who was having data corruption issues, requiring me to factory reset everything almost every time I used it.
I had trouble with ONN support so I just put it away and didn't use it for awhile.
I few months later I charged it and used it and it got a bunch of updates and haven't had a problem again with data corruption.
I love this thing so much that it has replaced an iPad Pro with M1 chip. It is next to my bed and I now have a HDMI to USB dongle hooked to it so I can watch DISH Network in bed while my wife watches he shows on the big TV in the bedroom. In addition I listen to music and shows using a pillow speaker with it at night when others are sleeping.
I am VERY happy now with this purchase. Very good device for such amazing low cost. Thanks for intorducing it to me. :)

That fiber optic HDMI cable looks like a great solution to get my PC out to my living room TV (can use Steam Link, but the streaming quality is mediocre). However, not sure how I'd get my KB/M or Xbox controller to connect at that distance wirelessly.

Hey Lon; can you do me a solid and test that iBirdie cable with some Dolby Vision content on the Nvidia Shield? Shield is pretty picky with cables; a 50ft one would be quite a find/feat.

Lon, Can the Onn streaming box handle high bit 4K audio/video from a Plex server? I have an older Roku Ultra that just can't process full 4K audio and chokes at 33% while loading. I suspect this can't either but thought you might have tested.

Good list! Your pronunciation of Karateka had me cracking up, though. I've never in my 40 years of knowing this game heard it called that. I was listening to this video like a podcast, and not watching, so I had to look at the screen to see what you were talking about. We always pronounced it as Ker-AH-t'ka or Karate-ka (since it has the word "Karate" in it).
Loving my Meta Quest 3. The ability to play my Steam library was the cincher for buying it. I did buy that Beelink SER7 for my wife as a replacement of her aging i5 computer. It's a great little PC. I'm also thinking about that Lenovo Legion Go not only for portable gaming on the go, but also for when I'm doing my travel photography, it'll be great for dumping my pics to my portable hard drive and doing some quick edits in Lightroom.

I bought the 8bitdo because of this video and it seems that is exactly what I want, unfortunately the B button is sometimes not bouncing back. Seems to be a common problem with 8bitdo devices and while the rest feels nice it renders it unusable. Will send it back, seems they don't have good QA, never again. Come on, it"s the B button out of the box not working correctly ...

@@chazcov08 Listen ... Broderbund's commercials on television at the time of the game's release called it KARA-TEE-KA ... if their advertising can't get it right? I cannot be held responsible. :)

If you buy a big power bank for emergency use, make sure to store it partially charged, about 70% capacity, and not fully charged to preserve its lifetime charge cycles.

I disagree that the Plex Pleasant Plastic Spoon was the highest tech thing this year just because of your obsession with Plex and because they gave you a free spoon. I 0:01 understand the spoon is smart and I understand a spoon can feed you and keep you nourished for the rest of your life. It’s not enough.
