I totally forgot about the road blocks.
They could come in handy to get the leader of a gathering group off the wagon to be able to intergorate him. Sometimes they give you the mission to hunt down a gathering group. Which is 1200XP extra. In some cases it is his own group. :D
Does the road block also work when you are not in render range?

It does work when not in visual , but I wasn't able to pin down when it de spawns. The cart travel is spotty at best and sometimes you can't tell what they're doing anyway :)

They aren't permanent? Do they despawn if you leave the area like some other things do? Problem is, every time you stop a wagon group the enemy just sends out another immediately.

They haven't de-spawned in my camp at least. I've not returned to the few I've left abandoned elsewhere.

@@CKGENERATIONS I'll have to run out there with all the wood and rope I can get and try blocking the roads near the source, because chasing these perpetual gathering groups is getting really old.
