I used to work contract security many years ago, and one job we routinely got was an under 18s disco 1 town over, by the then largest mobile disco in Europe; their final sound check was a Lanc flyover. Awesome
Had the pleasure of watching these two Lancasters at the Southport airshow..but during the rain.. but was an awesome sight and even better sound. Thanks for the upload :)
Wonderful video. Thanks so much for sharing it. I went to see VRA at the CWHM one week ago and they are right on schedule to have her flying in Spring 2018. There was a huge number of school kids at the museum when i was there being given tours and learning about all of the museum's aircraft and about the airmen that served in them. It was wonderful to see how inquisitive and interested they were.
I'm 66 now and this still brings tears to my eyes, wonderful, wonderful. Have to thank our Canadian cousins for bringing their Lanc over. Please do it again.
Paul we see her almost every weekend here in St Catharines in the summer, i've even spoken to the pilot on occasion in Hamilton , As you can see they bank them pretty hard for an old girl, usually b17,s and 29's don't see this kinda thing in shows.. they just sort of lumber... We always mistake the Lanc for a fighter from far off, the pilot said it has to do with too much slip in shallow turns, and it's hard on the emponage , so bank is used to mitigate it.. God, an aircraft you have to fly harder to preserve.. they were built far better than US bombers, and these maneuvers , though they look punishing to us are nothing for the airframe.. some of the dives they took to avoid flak would tear a B17 apart.. the ministry designed this into them knowing they would get "lit up" at night , giving them a chance to give the bosch the slip... it's pretty cheap to get a package deal to niagara falls these days, and easy to get up to Hamilton to see her, even if she's not flying they service her in the museum, you can see her guts and talk to the mechanics, sit on the tires for a photo if you want.. might make a good vacation ..
What a wonderful sight that is the two lancs flying by, pity the third one isn’t airworthy. Gives me goosebumps every time I hear the roar of those merlins !!
Oh, the one on the ground has her engines running too. I'm crying now. Last year I got my cousin to call in at East Kirkby only to find Vera was actually giving trips! We both had dads in the RAF - mine in Bomber Command, his at Bletchley Park. Did we blub when the engines started up!
You have no idea, what a day that was. So utterly emotional for the hundreds gathered there. I'm hoping to get back to see NX611 and her maiden flight after restoration.
What do you expect from a mobile phone? Something produced by Columbia Films? I recorded the event for me and personally don't give a flying fig what you think. I was there and I'm guessing you were not. Shame really, you could have shown us all how to take a video the proper way. Missing out on 12 merlins and 3 Lancasters was your loss not mine. I made every effort. All you can do is criticise. Loser.
You were not there. I was. Mobile phone. This is free. If you don't like it, go away. Your sort of constructive criticism is just pure jealousy. I don't give a flying feck, how shaky it is. I experienced the raw emotion of 12 merlins, three Lancasters up close and personal. Where were you? Mrd Professional, show us your attempt to capture the moment. Bozo.

Thanks for this, I was at the event too and words cannot describe the feeling when the 2 Lancasters first came into view.
Such beautiful aircraft.

What’s better than the sound of a roaring Merlin or Griffin?
The sound of many in concert!

Dave, Thanks for sharing. I still get emotional every time C-GVRA fires up at the CWHM museum over here in Canada
Was there on the day the atmosphere was electric., thanks for posting.
Looks like the old girl on the ground was itching to be up in the sky with her two sisters. Beautiful!
I would say more like begging to be turned loose to fly...
Now, imagine a few HUNDREDS of those passing by...
Speechless! 👍
I'll fly above and ahead of you when you make your attack. That will draw the fire. THANKS LEADER!! Guy Gibson Dams raid 617 Squdron.

I was there. That's me saying "oh wow" a lot. Sorry. But it was awesome. Lol

@@DaiElsan What's up, dumb doe? Your last whine came in just after seconds and now you're silent for hours, wisenheimer? Are you still alive? 😁🖕
