Yes population of Islamabad compare to lahore and Karachi is less but overall it not that much less but the reason for less traffic is wide roads and why there is no markets at road sides are because you cant building anything on road side as per rule of the city. Therr are specific commercial areas where you can build markets only

The yellow squares on road is a traffic symbol. It means if traffic flow is heavy on the opposite side, you have to wait for that flow to pass even if signal turns green for you.
People park on the roadside parking approved by the CDA. In Isb you cant park on the roadside just like that.
There are no farm houses inside Isb. It lies on the foothills of Margalla Hills.
Its naturally green. However, many trees have been planted as well. Its not a natural city like Lahore or Karachi. Its basically a tertiary city which offers services to people.
