These are, not only historically important, (museums do exhibits on history of fashion design), but emotionally so meaningful, i was listening while doing house chores and started crying. I'm an artist, oil painter, writer, and my gram was a fashion designer from the old country, Mollie Emeson, had a store on Ventura blvd about a block west of Laurel Canyon (Ventura and Laurel Grove). She wore a little potato sack dress, hobbit like shoes, maybe orthopedica, and had tons of straight pins horizontal near her collar bone on her dress. She looked like a peasant, and ultimately designed clothes and personally was known and loved by, many high fashion stars like Jayne Mansfield, Marilyn Monroe, Charo. I've always thought of her a a great matriarch in the Jewish tradition, humble, hard working, and very good at what she did. I had other friends in the art scene who began doing "fiber art' and transitioned into oil painting and collage, (the amazing Simone Gad, may she rest in peace was an example... most all of us on the periphery of fame, and in retrospect I'm so thankful to God for being on the outside of tha periphery but still getting to do my art and teach others also.... My point: Art, Art History, and Fashion Design, have been in my consciousness for a long time and also I grew up in the period Mr. Hendrix came to fame and then went the route of Edna St. Vincent Millay's candle burning brightly but from both ends..., but my point is that i found these series of interviews amazing and emotionally moving. I did a wikipedia search on Michael Braun and he seem to currently have no individual listing. I say this to accentuate the vacuum that doesn't know about the things you all are covering here in these interviews. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for doing these.
A guy named Nicky Nichols lived across the hall from me, 1973 -1976. He knew everybody in r'n'r' and he made many of Jimi's stage costumes. When I saw Jimi at the Forum he was all black except for a (purple?) sash.
There's alot to this Rock n Roll stuff I reckon....EveryOne wants to rule the World.....and if u got down JIMI S Rayon.......You were on Top it at that time...Cause some of them want to Use You....Some of them want to get Used by You......Hold Your Head ☝....Keep Your Head ☝.....thank you for this clip....Rock n Roll/JIMI
I think many rock stars did not like to wear underwear in the 60s and 70s. It shows off the package more for the ladies?? The Bulges in pants were also huge in teen idol posters of the 70s, I can see straight through Andy Gibbs pants in one and yes no body wore under pants in these times. LOL!
I never saw Jimi wear the same outfit twice ever.
Man, these are great stories...wow, I love it!
