Yep, just as sad I remembered it to be. I found it interesting that you focused more on the Piano part from the original than the violin, since I mainly remember the violin part of the melody. It still creates a really beautiful and sad tone nevertheless.
yeah, one of the cool things piano can't do is change dynamics of a held note. Makes the cello/strings or wind instruments really good at slow melodies.

As for a piano version, I've thought about it briefly before but I don't really know what to do with it. Not sure how I'd arrange the atmospheric slow string orchestra to be more pianistic without deviating too much from the original.
