- Nick walks us through diagnosing issues with your stock 5.9L turbo. He goes over boost leaks, how to check for the leaks, and a few other topics.
You 3rd gen Cummins owners, this video is definitely a good watch.
Also, it would have been very helpful to have pictures of good and bad turbo fins.
BTW, I did the leak test and found out the hose after the turbo was Swiss cheese.
Thank you, good insight
You guys are awsome thanks for the mm3 custom tunes and the 67
Great teaching moment, thx. My new 64 just arrived, looking forward to bypassing inspection of the Stock compressor and dropping this bad boy in...
Would the same rules apply as far as a leak test with no overlap in a 2019 ford or is that just the 3rd gen 5.9. Your guys information is greatly appreciated. I'll have to go threw more of the videos maybe you have that information posted already. If so what video?
This is awesome thank you guys for eveything. New to diesel word but definitely going with your tunning om a edge monitor. Would it be efi live ? Or mm3. I know smarty is also a tune?
Great video man thanks
Great video
Awesome video I have a question though I have a 03 3500 that I’ve just noticed a problem with when my turbo lights I hear a load whistle and it sounds like the turbo spooling but I’ve owned the truck for 4 years and just the other day it sounds like a louder whistle it’s a 03 3500 5.9 all stock except aftermarket exhaust checked turbo wheel everything loooked good anything help will be appreciated thanks
Is 64 mm about the turbo for 05 stock truck with 152K on the clock and I still have intercooler with plastic tanks .
Thank you so much
Thanks i learned a lot
I have the OG MPVI HP Tuners interface from my old Ws6 in ~2010, which the device won't pull tune, or data from 06-07 trucks :(. Bought an 07, have injector issues, and probably broke compression rings on a hole or two. These cost way more than the 12 valve or LS performance stuff, yuck.
Cool👍👍👍👍
Does it hurt anything to take silencer ring out... As far as wearing out the turbo bearings?
nope, doesn't hurt a thing. Simply there to keep the away whistle sound of a turbo.
Mine blows excessive white smoke and my shaft has ton of play. It just threw a po191
If I have a P0237 code would that affect how the turbo performs
How the freak can you remove a corroded wastegate solenoid. Mine acts like its welded on. Thanks
02 5.9 cummins air coming out back of the turbo!! I've heard that's normal?!
Not normal. Have a diesel mechanic to check it out.
How to build this apparatus?
These guys are idiots. They talked me into a 64 stealth that was a pile of junk. Stick with a stock turbo
