[Lyrics]
English
Verse 1:
As for me, I'm happy to serve in the fleet,
I'm glad to have been drafted into the Navy.
The salty breeze sways the riggings,
The salty squall hits the seaman's face.
Chorus:
There is the note G in any seaman's song,
We have eaten a pound of salt together with our friends.
On the watch, the salty sweat pours from us,
The salt of our lives is sea, fleet!
Verse 2:
The girlfriends wait, such is their fate,
We ask them both jokingly and seriously:
"The seas have enough of both liquid and salt,
Don't pour your salty tears into them".
Chorus
Verse 3:
Our borscht soup is filled with salt beef,
We love eating pickles.
Here, real men serve
We won't be lured away from the fleet with a popsicle.
Chorus
Note: "Мы соли пуд с друзьями съели вместе." or "To eat a pound of salt together" is an idiom in Russian that means "to know each other really well".
This sentence has double definition.
ps: still on vacation, however i put time and effort for the edit, thank u.

Thank you for your upload and question about song name, now several channels dedicated to Russian, Soviet, communist, historical and similar music are publishing, you made the discovery of the year. Congratulations
Only the Soviets could create a banger about literal salt
The term "eating a pound of salt" from my understanding a slang term for getting to know people/talking with people. So its also a bit of an double meaning!
@@MxPigeon interesing info! Thanks
Meanwhile the French making a song about freaking onions
Reason for adding pickles to this ;-;
@@MxPigeon That's right.
They cook it with the perfect amount of salt 🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
A pound of salt to be precise :P
Wow, I am sure that this song has a badass lyrics
Lyrics: We love eating pickles
This is a *saltified* salt
0:45 the note G, also known as "So", sounds really close to russian word Salt (Sol).
It's even not really close, it's homonym. "Соль" means both salt and note G.
Also it means "sense" or "point" in some occasions. For example, question "В чём соль?" can be translated as "What's the sense?" or "What's the point?". In the song you can see this meaning in the last line of the chorus, where "Соль нашей жизни - море, флот" can be translated as "The sense of our life - sea, fleet".
My army
My navy
I was serving back to 81-83
Still very proud of that i was part of Greatest Army in a World.
Proud of my Heroic fathers did in Great Patriotic War
✊🟥
at this point i wont be suprised if the soviets made a song about a rock or something
Прощайте, скалистые горы - Farewell, Rocky Mountains
oh my fucking god
@
They also made a song about the samovar, a water heater used for making tea iirc
@@toyocolla6374 About samovars, about wheeled machine guns, about a rifle...

Who agress that soviet marching songs sound a lot better then modern Kpop and tiktok songs?
Soviet music is leagues better than most modern popular music in general. I listen to Soviet and Russian and Finnish music as much as I listen to King Gizzard or Bal-Sagoth.
This specific Soviet song reminds me of some great North Korean songs, or the true Kpop
Probably because soviet songs have legitimate and tangible meaning. What does modern music like pop provide? Nothing
soviet march + drum set = true epicness
1000% better agreed
This is a massterpiece!!!!!
So great not even Shazam can’t even bear to recognize it
Love me a good Naval song

Finally, about time someone posted this.

ah another one for my soviet/russian playlist my russian war thunder playing shall be extra salty now
oh you have more guess im subbin heh
welcome then!
The lyric есть нота соли любой матросской песни is supposed to be "there is a note of salt in any sailors song" not "there is the note G in any sailors song"
It's "нота соль", not "нота соли", and it's a play on words, as salt and the note G are both соль in Russian. The rest of the chorus follows a similar pattern by using the word "salt" but not in its literal sense.
@@georgekotz2134 I didnt catch that, thanks for the pointer. I was a bit perplexed for a moment
Гимн Питера типа такой:
Is this the song blessed by Brezhnev?

1:18 it should be "There's salt in every sailor song", not a G note
my g, the lyrics explicitly says: “Est’ nota sol’ v lyuboy matrosskoy pesne”, which translates to “There’s always Sol in every sailor song” or something like that the translation is some slightly poetic ish thing
@naps_878 True, but in English it's says there's 'note G'
Edit; нота (note) means 'touch'
So it's more like 'there's touch of salt in every sailor song'
@@zhongxina9832 huh. to satisfy both, i suppose let’s call it a double meaning, eh?
The soviets can make a good song about salt the french about onions thats fair.
I'm a violinist and i ccan confirm there is NOT a G in every sailor song. Take The sailors hornpipe as an example. ruclips.net/video/D_JeKZd9ecE/видео.html
Dude, it's just a joke. Note G or 'So' sounds like sol, which means salt
