@@mangoomusic Seriously dude, hands up, happy hardcore, and your music specifically, got me through a dark af time as a teenager. So many nights laying on my roof, smoking a joint, listening to Eurodancer, Faster, You are my fantasy, The melody, over and over again, tryna drown out the sound of my parents screaming at each other. I managed to vent a lot of my angst going to the park, and teaching myself how to shuffle, to Beneath in particular. It's in that 130ish bpm area, which is the same as my active heart rate, so i can literally feel my pulse sync up with the beat. Once I got good, on muscle-memory alone it just flows out, and once i'm in sync with the beat, my mind goes blank. No thoughts, just me and the music as I glide around. You can imagine how useful it was being able to tune out like that whenever my shitty home life became too overwhelming. Plus being being able to walk it tf out at homecoming, prom, and the crazy parties we threw, combined with my emo ass hair and general rave kid aesthetic, got me laid af at my rural ass, redneck af, high school. The saddest part is that when this song came out I wasn't even born, it is only now from Play that I have found this masterpiece. You are an inspiration to all young musicians out there who are trying to make that one hit song. No matter what happens, keep going, you will find your tune!
Welcome back Mangoo. We can never truly forget such an ICONIC sound that literally shaped a generation of music enthusiasts. Now we only need a real good comback of Basshunter and i’ll be able to die happy 🙏🏻
I was 13 when I first heard this song and fell in love with it. Now I'm 26. It brings back alot of memories. Still waiting for the day you come to the USA to perform!
I have listened to this song on and off for almost 20 years now and i still consider it my favorite melody, but it's been a couple of years since the last time i was listening to it again. When i suddenly heard the first 3 (identical) notes as i was playing the Spotify Norway top 50 playlist it caught me off guard and the nostalgia hit me like a truck. Instant recognition but it was different. Then before i had a chance to check, it started changing and Alan Walker popped into my head, and sure enough. The beautiful melody of eurodancer works out very well in his style as well, and the sound of this new take is more haunting and nostalgic (also reflected in the lyrics) rather than dreamy and uplifting like the original, but will for sure be a great hit this year, and i'm listening to it a lot. I still prefer the original, and the part from 2:34 when the strings come in and the melody goes in multiple layers is still my favorite part any song and always gives me the chills. To think Mangoo was 16 at the time, not much older than me... The tripple notes is typical of the eurodance genre, which is why i think the song called Eurodancer, but i've never seen confirmation of that. Anyways, i thought that was the reason and found it clever. This is probably the song that got me started on melodic/uplifting/euphoric/epic trance.
This music has been a huge part of my childhood. I first discovered it because of a remix made by TMM43 When I was 6. I then listened to the original and loved it ! Since then, I've browsed the internet to find new remixes every now and then. Now, I am an adult and I still listen to the masterpiece that this music is. Thank you so much for making this !
