I have been waiting so patiently for this series, and I am extremely pleased to see how comparable my Ruger was to this lot of 7. Thank you Chad and Chads wife for your time and efforts put into what I hope continues as a strong series.
7 Ruger AR15 rifles and all 7 had issues and all 7 BCG's need replaced ... I can honestly say that I won't be recommending any Ruger AR15 rifle. I own many of there pistols and have never had any issues. Chad I would like to say thank you to the amazing content you and your wife provide. Absolutely priceless video content, Brother 😉👊🇺🇸 Looking forward to seeing the final video. I hope Ruger steps up and help with fixing the rifles issues 🤞
I am thoroughly enjoying the deep dive into the various makes of AR15s. Thank you so much for making these videos. Greetings from Cape Town, South Africa.
For what it's worth, I'd bet most of these guns would function fine for a while. Some may even wear into themselves and improve (sticky firing pin maybe) with only additional wear to show for it. A novice shooter may not even notice it at all until something physically breaks.
You should make a video on why certain things on the AR platform are the way they are. Like why taper pins are used instead of just a normal roll pin. Why there are are grooves in the hammer and trigger pins, etc etc. I already know most of this, but iam sure most people don't. That would be amazing education. Keep up the great work. I sing your praises and tell everyone i know that has an AR to watch your videos. I wish i had the funds and the time to come take one of your courses. At the moment its impossible, iam a live-in caregiver for my dad who has leukemia and several other illnesses where he is completely bedridden. Your long form videos give me alot of stress relief. Thank you for what you do. And thank you to your wife for loving the AR platform as much as you, oh, and for putting up with you, lol, jk. 😂
Maaaaaan, I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to get nearly 3 hours of DEEP nerdery on the good ol' AR platform! Exactly what I needed today. I was stuck in a mind-numbing conference. Grabbing a few minutes here and there of pure curiosity and research was the elixir I needed. Mind having another three hours each day for the next couple days?! 😄
Dude, i trust your word on the AR platform more than anyone else. And if you tell me you checked something off camera and to take your word for it, im sure i speak for everyone here that we believe you bro.

Love the long form, nice to see you pumping out the content you are the best gun armour channel by far. Cool that your other half i believe is helping out.
Its not just the ars from ruger with qc issues. Had an sp101 where a chamber wasnt reemed properly. Have a gp100 where the retaing pin for the rear sight wasnt pushed in properly and started walking out. Just got a mini14 that got sent with 2 crap mags. Ruger is just like psa at this point. Ruger has always been a budget manufacturer. Always. Unless you're looking at a single shot rifle, an over/under shottie, or just a budget .22, it's best to always pass on Ruger.
@@JD-tn5lz Lol they do make their own barrels and gas blocks and such in house (openly accessible information). To my understanding they also make the receivers but that may be a contracted out component in portion.

I couldn't believe the bolts looked that bad. Didn't look close to being new. Maybe they were going with if it looks good on the outside then it will be alright. Roger used to be a good firearms manufacturer but after what I just watched , I don't know anymore. Maybe they are sourcing parts from different companies. Don't know. Enjoyed the videos very much. Thanks. Looking forward to the next. Hope Smith & Wesson fairs better.

Pitiful. I don’t think Ruger cares if the rifles are in spec or not as long as it passes the test fire. Will they replace the BCG’s with the same out of spec units?
I have one of these and well... its still running for me. The trigger crapped out at few thousand rounds and thousands of dry fire reps. Got it for $725. Not terrible but wasn't awesome.

I've seen 3/4 and even half inch groups from these Ruger ARs, shame the rest isn't as good as their barrels. I'd get the barrels on their own if they had mid length gas available
Does the oversize gas port negate the offset of the A1 front sights? If someone was using 300 blackout subs? I know it's not a proper fix, but I'm just wondering if someone wouldn't notice a difference if the gas port is oversized? On my second Ruger AR. Bought this one and the other at estate auctions for pennies on the dollar. Plenty of play in both, nothing tight, and the first one (an MPR) literally fell apart during a training. Definitely my worst rifles, even worse than Anderson and Adams.

the gas blocks were tight because the set screw they used " dimpled" the barrel and push some material up causing an obstruction
Ugh. I'm glad I talked my old man out of buying one of these back in the day. Definitely not "just as good."
