My very 1st hamster escaped in the middle of the night and he had a whole room to explore. Instead I woke up and felt something furry sleeping on my chest. One of the most amazing experiences I've had from all my pets.
That is actually truly amazing & a gigantic compliment to u because your hamster obviously loves u and feels safe with u! A whole room to explore but settled onto u! Amazing 👏 🙀 😯

My hamster escaped so many times that now I just let her roam free in my apartment. She has made a nest behind my fridge and I pull my fridge out every couple weeks and clean it for her. And she still climbs back into her cage every day to collect food, drink water, and run on her wheel. She's so cute and runs around my apartment all the time at night and in the morning. She's my little free-range hamster lol 🐹

Free roaming hamster only thing I miss about my brick studio apartment there wasn't really anywhere to actually "escape" had like no cords anywhere besides tv but he didn't like that side tv stand was not cozy so I'd let little guy free roam he made a nest behind this plastic socks and undies dresser I had was always there.
@@thegoldieones5449 that is actually fine, the hamster gets more freedom and space to stay in. Hamsters love roaming around, so it is actually really nice for hamsters to let them roam around. But it's just that we have to watch our step, and check if there's anything that can harm hamsters. We also have to set up some food and water for the hamster to have, and we just need to close the doors just in case some rats or mice (etc) that can come in and bite or harm the little hamster.
Lol same put he keeps climing onto the couch when I sit there and he also made a literal nest in my bedroom, he has a lot of trust for me lol.
So scary !! That’s why it’s tricky to mix predators and preys together in one home. Glad nothing bad happened!

I know, mine escaped from his temporary cage the other night and I woke up toa hamster screech and a cat screech.
My hamster Pip has chewed out a corner too and when one of my kittens saw him she gave chase.
I think Pip's screech was from surprise or fright, but my kitten's screech was from pain, as Pip nearly bit off a chunk of nose.
Now that I have his new habitat I'm not afraid of him escaping but be assured I inspect it several times a day like a maximum security prison guard.

My hamster once escaped and after 3 hours of searching for him we found him sleeping under the tv table. The next time he escaped, we went to the same place he hid before and we also found him sleeping there.🤣

Glad that you found them safe. They are so cute. When my hammies get into mischief I can never be upset with them. They melt my heart with their cute little faces. I just lost my little hammy Cooper last week and my heart is broken 💔. He is in my heart forever with all of my fur babies never will be forgotten.
It is very funny when this type of situation happens and at the same time you panic for fear of losing the hamster, I remember that one of the male hamsters had escaped from its habitat and met my female hamster. I realized late and my hamster female I get pregnant, other times that my hamsters have escaped I have found them in the sock drawer, inside the mattress of my bed, or inside my closet. You have to be very careful and watch them.
I had this happen and eventually my hamster was found roaming in the hallway like nothing happened. 🤦

My hamster also escaped twice. I was very worried since it's quite cold outside the cage. After I found him, he was very thirsty and tired. So after he took some water he went to sound sleep for a whole afternoon.
My hamster just died and I saw this video in my recommended it really made my day better ❤❤

Me and my sister's hamsters escaped one night (they were male and female and kept in different cages). We found them in my dad's recliner chair and later the female had babies. From then on we made sure their cages were well locked...Lol!
The hamster you see in my profile pic was the end result of such an escape. Years ago, someone on my local Craigslist posted hamster babies for sale. The family owned two hamsters, one male and one female. One night, the male escaped his glass fish tank, and they found him in the female's fish tank. They couldn't figure out how it happened. Hm, sounds like the little male was really desperate for a lady friend LOL! Anyway, the female got pregnant, had a bunch of babies. I got one of the babies, the cream Syrian in my profile pic looking up my my cell phone camera.

@@maggieslifeisawildride512 Thanks! She was born in 2014, and passed away in 2016 from kidney failure. I still miss her like crazy! I named her Bonita, and she acted more like a domestic rat that a hamster. She would always beg for attention by pawing at my legs, and she followed me around the house during out of cage playtime. She climbed into my lap if I sat on the floor. She also had the ability to jump, which is something most hamsters can't do. She thrived on human attention, and she loved getting picked up and petted. I've had hamsters for over 25 years, and I've never had a hamster like her!
one time i put my dwarf on my desm and thought he was asleep in his maze box. i went to lay down for a nap. from the corner of my eye, i saw something small and black zoom across the floor. my rabbits were free roaming.

My childhood hamster Rainbow Sparkle was quite the escape artist lol. Every night just about she gout out her aquarium somehow and then would squeeze through the Crack of my closet door and make a nest in my shoe. But one time she escaped for 2 weeks and my mom found her in a nest she made under but also in the couch. I will never forget her face when my mom picked up the couch lol. So busted!!

I used to keep hamsters in a similar plastic box, and one chewed a hole to escape. The little fella actually went down the stairs and crossed the road to the opposite neighbour’s house 🫣 Luckily that neighbour knew we kept hamsters so they phoned us to collect our little escapee. (Our neighbourhood has loads of cats so we got lucky) As for the hole in the cage, a heavy, fist sized rock was enough to block it. 😅
this is why a lot of hamster owners use glass tanks with wire lids
they can't chew through the glass and you have more options for bigger cages which they need

Hamsters can squeeze through even tiny gap. I didn't know my hamster escaped from cage until someone knocked on door of my bedroom still early morning. I found the hamster in the kitchen when they are lots of places to hide like under the sofa. I was called to catch my sister's speedy dwarf hamster it seemed his bum was too big for gap under the sofa. I'm glad you found them all. I would be worried sick.

I actually had something similar happen to me with Lady Penelope. It’s actually quite funny, I forgot to close Lady P’s cage properly before Xmas 2021 and she escaped down the back of the coffee table in my room. At 5 am I woke my parents up flipping out that Lady P was missing. My dad said “she’s probably buried herself, B” and I responded with “she’s NOT in her cage!” So 10 mins later my dad and I were trying to find her with my dad saying “B it’s fine!” And me screaming back “I DUNNO WHERE THE F**K SHES GONE!” Thankfully my mum got my sister, L, and with her phone torch L found Penelope down the back of the coffee table.
Same. Mine was a female in a playpen while a changed her cage. Unluckily, my male hammy cage was nearby and idk how, but I found him in the play pen too. Tada, babies, which I kept.
And the same male hammy escaped before too. He woke my grandpa up by crawling all over him in the middle of the night.

My mam woke up in the middle of the night a few years ago and could hear scratching.
She tried to wake my dad up, thinking we had a rat problem, but he told her she was dreaming and to go back to sleep.
She turned the light on and saw our fluffy boy Iggy run out of the room.
We must've left the cage door open and not noticed.
Hopefully he enjoyed exploring the upstairs of the house for the first (and luckily last) time!

My Robo hampter went missing for three night. First night: I didn't see any poop or basicly any clues so I placed to piles of treats so that he won't be hungry. Second day: I discovered that some treats were mising and I saw him next to the TV but he was too quick and he escaped.
Third day: Saw some poop and half eaten treats in the corner of the room and during the afternon after school, me and my sister search behind the cabinets, pulled the TV away to see behind and under it and then we found him in the opposite corner of where I found the poop and he was behind some plastics and clothings to keep warm.

My dwarf hamster escaped too i can't find it is not under the sofa finally i found under my fridge it's safer if I don't have cats but i keep away from electro-cables so please keep your hamsters safe
I used to use one of those metal cages and the hamsters were so strong and managed to pull the metal bar from another. i remember trying to sleep as hard as i can because i had school tomorrow. i sleep in the toys room and the room was dirty so i couldnt see a thing. i suddenly heard a squeaking sound. i turned on the lights and saw my hanster inside a toy house lol
