Of All the new weapon types added in the DLC, I was most excited to try out the martial arts weapons and it wasn't even close. So today we have put together and absolute masterpiece of a build that will have you out there in the realm of shadow looking like Po from Kung Fu Panda. This is Max Martial Arts Damage. Enjoy!

Them putting arguably the coolest weapon in the dlc, right before the final boss, is such a troll fromsoft move lmao. Replaying the entire DLC with Dane's Footwork is so fun.
You can grab the dry leaf arts weapon as soon as you get in the DLC like I did in this video. It is essentially the same thing but it doesn’t use as many kicks in the normal moveset, but with this build I was primarily using the ash of war anyways so it didn’t matter
Best thing is to pair it with the Milady light greatsword. Both the sword's fast and elegantly flowing moveset combined with the kicks from Dane's Footwork in the offhand is the most fun anime shit I've ever seen in a Fromsoft game and I am absolutely here for it
Wish they added hand-to-hand as a starting class option. Would be sweet to play the whole base game with it

less "work" and more do a ton of damage. most of the weapons are completely fine. these buffs are just to make it a ton stronger than it already is.

I remembered I before I had 71 rune arcs when I was done with Gaius I only had 26 left. 45 rune arcs for Gaius truly an ER experience.

Rakshasa set also makes you insanely prone to damage.
Still waiting for someone to combo the dryleaf with the throwing dagger and make the naruto build.
I did that. Kinda annoying with all the stats to make the smithscript dagger do decent damage but thankfully the requirements were low so it wasn’t hard

I don't think you should lol. I've noticed that martial arts is only good for palm blast. The default attacks are too weak and too short ranged for a lot of situations. Makes the weapon unreliable sad to say.... UNLESS YOU PALM BLAST. The poise you can withstand and the damage that you deliver is toooo much. Hardly anyone can resist it. Only massive dragon type enemies seem to resist it a good bit but having pest thread spears seems to counter them nicely so there ya go boss. Palm blast and pest thread spears are the goat lol

Resisting the urge to watch these videos because i don’t want to spoil the DLC, might just be the hardest thing I’ve done in my life… also do a video where you play Elden ring as a bunch of famous people. Eg using the build Elon musk used for his play through and then the build post Malone used for his play through, but use different peoples builds for each boss.
I love how he buff for 2 hours just to get destroyed😂

iirc to not have the horny guy spawn after you enter shadow keep speak to leda at highroad cross grace- fight against leda in shadow keep and help horny, summon him for messmer, then speak to him in the boss room- after this he should invade you near the church of bud and then he wont spawn in the npc fight

@@bryceinator13 Well said. He's honestly a decent boss. It's like fighting a tree sentinel that's on crack. That charge though is bs... 2 reasons...
1... If he does it when you're against a wall he will keep running in place and when you get up off your invincibility frame, you simply get hit again lol. Prolly dead now...
2... Even without a wall or whatever, sometimes the charge hits you 2 or 3 times in one go some how. This is absolute peak levels of bull crap game design haha.
How do you get the ash of war early game pls ? ( idk how to achieve this)
Use a spiritspring (the thing torrent jumps really high in) to get up near fort of reprimand. Then go to moore ruins and down in the hole. Come out in bonny village, go towards the finger lady place but run into the big open black door towards shadowkeep where its flooded. Get to the the big lift that takes you into shadowkeep. get the grace. jump off the side to the first floor of the keep and run out the left side to get to rauh ruins and from there you should be good. Best of luck

You have to kill several dlc bosses before you can get access to Danes footwork
I think the dry leaf arts do slightly more poise damage from default attacks than footwork does, but it's only by a couple of points so it's not a big deal. Footwork is better in every other way though.

What are your stats?
I think I rounded out the build with 60 vigor 30 dex and Str as those are the two scaling stats for dryleaf arts and then 30 or 35 in arcane for the bleed build up. But I think I was only level 140 or so by the end. Ideally you would have 99 in all three of those stats.

so this build isnt good youre just buffing for 30 mins before the fight
Wow dude. This build is bad. Just try palm blast.
Use shard of alexander, godfrys icon, scorpion charm (same element as your dryleaf) and what ever else you want.
Base str, base dex, then 60+ faith Then affinity the dry leaf to fire or sacred.
You also wont need to spend all day buffing before fights. Just flame grant me str and golden vow is good enough
You and me may sound like dix in our criticism haha... Which is true to be fair haha. But we are also correct. Palm blast is the way to go.

I sacrificed dishing out bleed damage for just str8 up defense. Getting this close to enemies means you WILL get hit so being able to tank the hits is very handy. Love my palm blast more than anything haha it's sooo sick!

I prefer the palm blast. It alone has carried me through the whole game pretty much. Only certain enemies are good at fighting against it in which case pest threads spears seems to work pretty good : )
