I had that problem with the shaking it was one of the steer tires was worn on the inside in several spots a brand new balanced tire took care of the problem
I swap the steers. If it isnt too bad. Your alignment seems to be off. Maybe balance. Nevermind its your steer cut. The amount you are allowed to turn. Better for backing in but ruins that tire so you got to decide which one do you want do you want to have easier backing or do you want to reduce your wheel cut to save the tire most big companies reduce the wheel cut. better for backing in but ruins that tire so you got to decide which one do you want do you want to have easier backing or do you want to reduce your wheel cut to save the tire most big companies reduce the wheel cut
I saw in another video that the T680 had a Dometic refrigerator in them and think that's a common refrigerator used in most trucks so it's not just a Kenworth issue. Do you have reason to believe otherwise? Is there a better refrigerator brand out there? Dometic seems to have the best reviews.
I have 2018 Kenworth t680. While driving suddenly all of its lights turned off and then turned on by itself after 3-4 minutes. Mechanic has changed the alternator already. Any suggestion plz?
There is a really good tire guy is kevin becket from md alignment. He says if you steeing wheels turns too much while backing in it will do that. Adjust wheel cut to 3 turns or something. Sounds exactly what you have going. It does it backing in is what starts it. Your drag link gets straight and wiggles just that tire. Other side dont do it cuz of steering box.
Did I say December? I meant to say September. In December I had already lost about 15lbs. But yeah I was 263lbs in September and now I stay right around 200-205.
@@TruckingLife Maybe you said September!😂 I heard December, but holy heck man that's hella impressive! Keep it up! Love your videos man! Extremely entertaining and educational!
My T680 is doing the same thing not as bad as your 2021 just had it for 7 months it's been back and forth with kenworth and it's still Shaking and pulling to the right.
I also had my KW wipe out the cam lobe on cylinder 3 and started on cylinder 6. Under load it was shaking worse than yours, and smoking. I am working on buying a truck to be an O/O, but it damn sure won't be no pile of shit KW
if the vibration is coming from the steering its on your front end, I.E steering wheel shaking that could be anywhere from kingpins or tires but but basically diagnose the front end , if the vibration is coming from your floorboard its from your transmission and back, IE, loose output shaft nut carrier bearing, worn carrier bearing, improper driveline configuration etc just to give you and idea hope i helped someone out! Cheers
I appreciate all the info. That’s good information to have and know. My problem ended up being a steer tire that went bad so it was an easy fix this time.
So far I've drove Frieightshaker, volvo, and KW. I have to say, my current KW is the biggest pile of shit I've ever drove, out of any vehicle in my life. It has new issues/problems every single trip. KW = garbage 🗑
@@TruckingLife Thanks, man if this KW would just be normal for a day. That day, my cruise stopped working, I lost 7mph for over 2 hours, came up short from where I always stop to fuel & sleep. Lol I wasn't happy. I'm a night driver, and sleep in the day. My AC decided to turn into a heater while I was sleeping. I woke up in what felt like an oven. Didn't get any sleep after that. Then cruise and AC started working again the next day. I just got the truck back from the KW dealer in San Antonio too, it wiped out the cam lobe on cylinder 3 and started on cylinder 6. Was violently shaking under load with a dead cylinder and smoking out the road lol. The trip before that, it randomly decided to go into derate mode and made me late for my appointment. It's a new problem every trip with this truck.
One good HARD bump and bam alignment out of wack and soon after tire wear

Stay positive Iam sure Kenworth will make it good.
Looks like you need to replace the control panel in the fridge or just get a new fridge different manufacturer to avoid that problem
We have 30 kenworth t 680 also run Yokohama tires an they do the exact same thing driver side only

Thanks for the problem that i had with my fridge
The shaking comes from the alignment getting out of alignment usually happens when you go thru hard bumps
Thanks, because video doesn't explain why the issue came up

Thank you for this. I’m not in that truck anymore. But I have new steers on my truck now. This will help save them.
60lbs down since December that's freaking impressive!!!!!

While it's apart, throw on some Centramatic balancers.. You'll never regret it.
I have them on my volvo I drive now.

Avolvo? What engine? So u prefer the KW or volvo?
That’s what they call Death wabble
Minr did that but my biggest issue is backing it jerks like crazy! It pisses me off
I can understand that. Any kind of jerking or wheel vibration is frustrating to say the least.
@@TruckingLife yes it is! Ive been driving 7 years n needed switchers help ..... The 2020s dont do that accirding to drivers idk myself tho
I know I hate backing up this automatic. By far the worst truck I have ever had to back up.
I agree!
Try turning off hill assists
Lol same happen with me
Damn trucks lol.. Hopefully your back on the road now.
Do you know how to disable reverse loud noise?
I don’t know how. Maybe someone else does.
I purchased a fridge for my Peterbilt one time and will never buy another one again. They are trash built.
I think fridge problem is common among t680
I agree with you. Our other t680 started having the same issues not long after mine.
Just had mine today not so fun times
No it’s not.
The only fix is alignment and new steers period
That’s exactly what it needed too. It drove amazing after I had those issues fixed. Thanks for the reply.
Broken belts
It gets worse after 200k miles Me myself I should of brought a freightliner The honda accord of trucks to make it simple.
I’m back in my 2012 Volvo now days. It’s old, but it runs great.
Simple fix buy a new fridge
To much technology it’s ruining ours lifestyle
Loose cable on keypad
Driver have to change job to some nails or haircuts

This is why I don't or never complained about a freightliner .. See how it bites in the ass.
T680s are junk my 2018 is a bitch to back up it wants to take off full speed I ask for a freightliner
Mine did that to. I’m back in my old Volvo when I drive now. But it’s parked for a couple more months.
Good decision not to drive it
What about the annoying singing
