  • Celebrating 21 years, the small boutique shop of Huss & Dalton Guitars is located in Staunton Virginia. We are excited to host Mark & Kimberly, to tell us about their company history & unique methods of handcrafted construction at play in all Huss & Dalton guitars. From their iconic Monticello 00-SP, to their Traditional series (vs. flat tops), we look forward to the Dalton's sharing their fascinating stories as one of our favorite small builders.

Tone of respect and love for these guys. They are really humble and great players as Luthiers.

...Mark Dalton is a genuinely nice guy. He was kind enough to give me a tour of the works, in Staunton, VA, and it was like stepping back in time. The craftsmen take obvious pride, in what they do. I believe their collective skill and their passion for their craft, is palpable in the magnificent instruments, that they build.
I have a Huss & Dalton T-0014, that I love...the sound is pure and clear and balanced, and I think it sounds better every time I play it.

Lovely. Humble presentation which make me long for a Huss and Dalton though I´m not likely to ever encounter one - maybe if I visit the States some day.. And of course, Molly is top notch...

Artisan Guitars Wow, thank you gents! I have a small store myself, Dyna's guitars, up and running since just a couple of weeks in a small town here in Sweden. I will most certainly pay you a visit when circumstances so allow!

Having traveled to Sweden several times, it is a beautiful country. There is a strong interest in music, too. We wish you good luck with your new guitar shop.

I have an H&D Traditional OM with sinker mahogany and red spruce combination. It sounds incredible and plays like a dream. Thanks for doing such a wonderful job. I bought it at Artisan and Bill and his wife were fantastic to deal with. If you are in Nashville you should pay them a visit.

great to hear all about the guitars from the "horse's mouth" (no offence Mark!). I have two H & D's which I love dearly. One suggestion for the next time you do one of these - you might want to mic the guitars themselves, as there is some really bad out of phase sound going on (I think due to the clip on mics on Mark and Molly) - so you sort of lose the opportunity to really hear the quality of the instruments. Still a great video, just me nitpicking because I want to hear how great these guitars sound!

We agree.. [As mentioned above] This video was filmed with an old video camera and built in mic, many years ago (before anyone knew Molly Tuttle). We will be hosting a fresh in-store luthier event featuring Mark Dalton (maybe even Jeff Huss) post-pandemic. Stay tuned!

@@wangwang5722 We have plenty of fresh H&D demo's and more on the way. We are using RODE NT5 mic's and the sound quality is a world of difference.

Our shop tours are typically around 45 minutes. Please be mindful of the busy schedules our artisans keep and direct questions to your tour guide."
