Probably the same reason simple and flat music is much more popular than music that takes effort and talent to make. People like quantity over quality. And they get it enough that they think the stuff they get is the actual good stuff and don’t understand the art that is actually good and see it as unnecessary noise.

When I'm listening to some obscure 80s music, I won't do it at 7 in the morning on my way to work, I want to mindfully sit down and enjoy it. Just like with high quality asmr, that's not something I fall asleep to, it's for admiring. But most nights, I don't want to admire, I want the video to get the job done and go straight to sleep. Doesn't mean I don't know the value of channels like this, it's just that there's no need for on most occasions.

This is a perfectly gothic, romantic (in the real sense of the word) , artistic presentation. Fireplace crackling, grandfather clock in the background. Purring cat and the soothing voice. All of my favorite relaxing things. At 4:11 with the close up of the cat purring and the owl hooting in the background, indecipherable whispers in the background, it gives me delicious chills every time. Thank you Dreamscape. You have helped me with my insomnia on so many nights. I set up stereo speakers behind the headboard of my bed so I can listen to this while I drift off to sleep.
The fact that it is mid afternoon is not stopping me from watching this in full and I have notes! First and foremost, this is amazing Dream!! The sheer amount of work and skill and creativity that goes into these videos is incredible. And the lore!! Oh my the lore!! Dark secrets, family history thats been kept under wraps, old wrongs that havent been righted, all starting to bubble up to the surface. Also also, the ambience 🥰 its so lovely. The campfire, the gentle purring of your lovely cat, and just the general vibe. Its amazing. Specific things I've noticed: At about 13:55 there's talk of a realm where time passess differently. It makes me think of the Zombie Mermaid video, and how time moves different there. The whispers of souls wanting to tell their stories and gently being in the background - so cool!! At 28:40 the whispers mention the old box that the young girl finds outside the boundary, and of porcelain dolls. The same one theres photos of earlier at 16:35. I'm sure I'll notice more things as I watch and rewatch this video many many times, but this is what I've noticed so far!! You are amazing Dream, keep on keeping on 😊
