One of my favorite record dealers. Been doing business with him for... oh, about 40 years, maybe a bit over that. Never met him, someday will need to fix that. Kerp the vinyl flowing, Val!
I dealt with Val several times about 40 years ago, each time I was totally satisfied. Included in one order were two freebies, posters of the Cardinals, and one other R&B group, possibly the Flamingos. Unfortunately, after many moves, I can't find them anymore :(
Nice and roomy Val. I remember my visit to Lebanon Avenue in 1969(?) ... to bad I got there a day after the guys from Canned Heat cleaned you out! Steve D.
Met Val once and he was very pleasant and helpful. Didn't get any records, I think they are all kept for John Anderson but worth a visit jus' for the experience.
I like to see boxes of 45's just thrown and piled everywhere... and each 45 only 50¢ like the flea markets that are close by here.. I don't like organized 45's on shelves and shit
this is interesting....so I bought several hundred records at an auction a couple months ago. lots of them have Val Shively stamped on sleeves. hmmm, I suppose the previous owner did a lot of business with Val.
Oh my god this place is where records go to die. It’s a mess, look at how it’s all stored! He has piles of records stacked on the floor for cats to piss on, and the shit on the shelves are just crammed together. All of this is awful for the records. Awful.
Love it ...the great Val in person
A high point of my misspent youth was when Val eventually let me roam around the (old) store unescorted!
I lived in Upper Darby for 20 years, and I sometimes walked by that store. But those signs on the door shows that he really means business.
Whoa there Val this is fantastic.
This is why I LOVE You tube!
Loved Going to the old store years ago.Ted Spadea
