- I used ChatGPT as an artificial intelligence tool to plan my day in London so you don't have to! All of my London itinerary was created by AI and I used it to organise my London trip to visit Westminster Abbey, the Changing of the Guard, the British Museum, Covent Garden shopping and some local market and English classic sit down dinners. Can AI really be the future of travel planning?

This was an incredibly useful and informative video. We made our itinerary for Europe last fall and then typed a request in chat gpt and the results were very similar. We also tried it out on the local area in San Francisco and it was a good suggestion. So from now on, I’m probably going to use chat gpt to start my planning and then adjust it for what we want.

Loved the video! Actually had just seen Yes Theory‘s video where they used chat gpt to find the best things to do in Tokyo so was fully invested in the topic 😄 I will definitely try this for my hometown. Btw, I planned my last trip to London collecting tips from Tavel influencers living in London and all of them suggest the terrace on the royal opera house 😉 but that brought me to the idea that it would be fun to test travel influencer guides vs chat gpt guides - maybe for a specific area of London?
Now THAT was fun! A great idea and new option, as well. Grandkids get older and I run out of ideas for what to do this week. Now, I am on Trip Advisor fairly often and did not know that this was a new update. Will I find it and use it successfully? Thanks!!!

Love the interesting choice of video. Fun! Also as a side note, we were just in London a few weeks ago and got to skip the queue at Westminster entirely because we had a booking. Maybe it just depends on the day and who is working. Not sure but we were thankful.

Just FYI, the only way to "skip the line" in Westminster Abbey is if you enter with an accredited London Blue Badge Tourist Guide, as there is a separate entrance. ;)

Fun video! As someone who
starts queuing outside the British Museum at 9:30 and then spends at least 5 hours in a selected area, I couldn't squeeze it in a day's itinerary. Covent Garden is insanely busy on Friday and Saturday from around lunchtime onwards...All in all an interesting experiment but ChatGPT misses all important details such as queueing times or finding the best spot to watch things, because all it does is cuts and pastes bits of generic info and presents it in a coherent manner. It must have found the ROH roof terrace recommendation on some influencers account. Shame it's crowded now.

I found the ticket prices at St. Paul’s cathedral pricey although it is worth it so we went there for mass for free! It was quick and we got to explore the cathedral for free!

I guess I was lucky last year when I went to Westminster Abby. I didn’t think about getting the tickets online. I just went and the line was short. I got right in.
I think it was partly because it was first thing and partly because with the coronation the building is more in people’s minds
Excellent content concept. Question: did you plug in the date of visit ? I ask this because when I visit a city I look at what special events are taking place the… including concerts festivals cooking classes art classes and farmers markets.
Good point. I didn’t, no. Would be interesting if it’s picks that up but again it’s data point cuts off in 2021 so unless it can pull from an up to date feed…

That was an excellent idea for a video. Borough market is must visit everytime we come to London. Sandra loves a grill cheese she is going to give it a try. We are going to go the opera house. The Ai did get some of the info wrong but did a pretty good job. 40 minutes in Westminster Abby not enough time so much to see. We will be in London on May 1st. I wonder if you could use image generator AIs for map creation or a better direction app. Would it pull up data from let's say google maps? I think that could be really useful especially for tourists.

It seems that it is like the difference between a Sat Nav vs someone who knows the route and surrounding traffic behaviour well.

Shouldn’t there be 2 queues 🤔. I didn’t know that’s why it was crowded when I went to an exhibition near Buckingham. I’d call the “British” Museum infamous tbh and I don’t think I’d ever promote it unfortunately.

Interesting concept. However, I cannot get my head around the curry sauce as "almost the law" with fish and chips. This is an ex-pat and ex London dweller saying this who is also from the North.

I've seen a couple of videos like this recently. It's an interesting concept and I've used it for myself to get some inspiration for an upcoming trip to London and Oxford. For me, it doesn't replace the old-fashioned Google search, but has provided some interesting starting points for a search and saved me some time.
Which videos? I couldn’t find any that properly tested it. Be interested to see.
