    I just ordered this exact version. I'm a sucker for blasted zirc. Then I saw this and had a cringe moment when I saw how it was rubbing off in your hands. Luckily, they had to switch it to Ti because the Zirc was out of stock. Still really like that stonewashed zirc. Looks good worn in. 👌

      Oof, yeah, no idea why this finish comes off on the hands but it does. I guess it's serendipitous that it was out of stock and you switched to Ti! I hope you enjoy it! It's a great fidget!

    I just watched Dynamic Intertia's unboxing and he started getting scratches right off the bat, too. I wouldn't feel too bad about the plate condition. ;)

      That's good to know! I was just surprised at how quickly the plates got scratched with play. When I talked to Zeyu Liu, they essentially said it was unavoidable and that the plates were going to get scratched no matter what. I was almost going to order new plates until they told me that, lol.
      Well, at least now I can continue to play with abandon and not worry about it! :P

      @@FidgetGirlEDC , yep happened to me right away!! Never experienced scratches so soon on a slider. BUT that being said, it still functions great after a few days. I'd say it's even gotten broken in and is very smooth! Best non-SS plated slider I've tried yet.

      @Dynamic-Inertia I agree, I think it got broken in after several days and does still function excellently. And I definitely agree that this is the best non-SS plated slider that I've tried as well! It's awesome!

    How does this compare to magic t play slider
    Which do you like more

    • @FidgetGirlEDC
      @FidgetGirlEDC  11 месяцев назад

      Hmm... So this Cloud Trail slider can be configured to be a 4 click, 3 click, or a 2 click, and the Magic Play T3 can configured to be either a 3 or a 2 click.
      The Cloud Trail is zirc with zirc plates, and the T3 is PEI with Delrin plates, making the T3 much lighter.
      The Cloud Trail comes with 2 sets of magnets: N52s and N35s, so you can choose your strength. The T3 only comes with its stock magnets which I'm pretty sure are N52s.
      I think I like the T3 more but that's just my personal preference. I'm really big on Delrin plates right now, I just really love how it slides but still has some resistance due to the strength of the magnets. I also love how crunchy it sounds. I'm a big fan of PEI right now also, so I really like how lightweight and easy to carry. And the magnets are so strong that I can just stick it to the side of my monitor when I'm done lol. So yeah.. personally I love the T3. The Cloud Trail is fantastic but the T3 wins.
      I hope this answers your question!

      Personally, my favorite is the Cloud Trail. Also, there's more customization options regarding the magnets in the Cloud Trail. If I had to choose between the two, that would be my choice! I hope this helps!

      I've never had this happen before with zirc! Then again, I've never had stonewashed zirc before. Everything I've had has been polished. Maybe it's because of the stonewashing? Still, it is bizarre. I understand wanting to avoid it.

    Why these plates are so scratchy? I have Aztec by KAP for like 6 months and i use it daily without any scratch at all… also zirc plates

    • @FidgetGirlEDC
      @FidgetGirlEDC  Год назад

      I honestly have no idea. I've been told by the maker that it's normal and that they are supposed to scratch. I don't know enough about zirc to come up with an explanation either.
      It's interesting that your Aztec doesn't have a scratch after 6 months of use when they're also zirc plates! Fascinating. I really don't know why there's such a difference when they're supposed to be the same thing.
      The Cloud Trail plates don't feel scratchy, at least. They still feel smooth. It's weird.
      By the way, how do you like the Aztec? I'm interested in that! I like the shape. How does that affect the play?

      @@FidgetGirlEDC I have Aztec in Zirc. I love it :) the size is just perfect for me (as i also like Stamp by ACEDC). The only flaw i see is that magnets could be a little closer to the edges. I also think that GAO Square is a little better when it comes to lattering and overall handling but that’s very close to Aztec :) all in all - i love it and play every day… not a single scratch! Ah I’ve also swapped magnets on one side to N52 - it now has perfect strength

    How does this compare to the Rapt? Would appreciate it if you could include how the fidget you are reviewing compares to the best/popular ones in it's category(NJT,Rapt,Mot Groove,top-c,...).
    As someone who is very new to fidgets I find it very difficult to figure out if these "new" fidgets are as good.
    Because most reviews I have watched (not just yours) they always talk about how much they like these "new" fidgets but then in their top lists they aren't to be found.
    Of course I understand that whenever you get something new it is more exiting and you really like it but this makes it quite hard to decide what I should buy.

    • @FidgetGirlEDC
      @FidgetGirlEDC  Год назад +2

      Let's see! We'll start with some main differences. The Rapt has interchangeable inserts (plastic, aluminum, and brass) that you use, while the Cloud Trail doesn't have any interchangeable inserts. So you can modify the Rapt's weight with those inserts, and you can also change it from a 3 click to a 2 click with those inserts.
      With the Cloud Trail, it doesn't have interchangeable inserts, but you can make it a 2 click, or a 3 click, or even a 4 click! It's kind of nice that you don't have to change any inserts for that, it's all based on how you organize the magnets inside the slider.
      So let's talk magnets. The Cloud Trail comes with 2 kinds of magnets, the n35 and the n52 (20 of each). So you can have a medium strength setup, or a strong setup (with the n52 magnets). Or you could even make some kind of hybrid setup of your own (I did that by making X marks on the n52 magnets to tell them apart).
      The Rapt website offers medium magnets (not sure what the strength is atm) and strong magnets (n52) that are of a larger size. With the Rapt, there are medium, hybrid, and strong magnet setups. You'd have to get the appropriate inserts for these, considering that the medium and strong magnets are different sizes.
      So, for different magnet arrangements you have to get different inserts for the Rapt, but for the Cloud Trail you just have to remember which magnet you put where, or mark them accordingly.
      Comfort and design: the Cloud Trail and the Rapt are very similar in this regard. They both have indents for the thumb on the top and bottom and middle of the slider, making it very comfortable to use. The Rapt has indents on the side for added comfort.
      The plates: the Rapt has stainless steel plates while the Cloud Trail has zirconium plates. The zirconium plates will scratch with play, so they will change from the pure black to a sort of silvery-grey over time. The SS plates on the Rapt will smooth out over time, but won't go through a major color change.
      Overall, the Rapt has more customization options, but it's also more expensive than the Cloud Trail. For the price, the Cloud Trail can be very similar to the Rapt and have a very similar way of playing. I think it stands up very well to the Rapt.
      Let me know if this answers your question, or if you have more questions! :)

      @@FidgetGirlEDC Thank you so much for your detailed response.
      I saw a lot of praise for the plates of the Rapt because of their concave design which only touches on the corners which apparently improves the smoothness a lot and prevents the plates from gumming up.
      I don't mind the zirconium plates scratching or changing color over time but how is their smoothness and do they get worse over time or gum up(like I saw as a complaint for magnus sliders)?

    • @FidgetGirlEDC
      @FidgetGirlEDC  Год назад

      @TruePizzaHandle You're very welcome!
      The Rapt does get a lot of praise for the plates and I think it's well deserved. They're very well designed.
      Regarding the Cloud Trail, I've had it for a few weeks now and I haven't had any issues with it. I'm a pretty heavy player with it, too. The sides of one plate have turned gray for me from so much playing, but I haven't encountered any gumming up. It's still very smooth. But, it's still only been a few weeks. So far, so good, though! The only downside with this fidget is that the stonewashed zirc is turning my fingers black, but that doesn't bother me. It might bother others, though.

      @@FidgetGirlEDC Alright thanks again.
      I guess time will tell if the plates hold up but if I get one it will probably be either ss or polished zirc getting black fingers every time I play with it sounds quite annoying.
